1Und nach sechs Tagen nimmt Jesus den Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes, seinen Bruder, mit und führt sie abseits auf einen hohen Berg. (Mt 26,37; Mk 5,37; Mk 9,2; Lk 9,28; 2Petr 1,16)2Und er wurde vor ihnen umgestaltet. Und sein Angesicht leuchtete wie die Sonne, seine Kleider aber wurden weiß wie das Licht; (Mt 28,3; Offb 1,16)3und siehe, Mose und Elia erschienen ihnen und unterredeten sich mit ihm.4Petrus aber begann[1] und sprach zu Jesus: Herr, es ist gut, dass wir hier sind. Wenn du willst, werde ich hier drei Hütten machen, dir eine und Mose eine und Elia eine.5Während er noch redete, siehe, da überschattete sie eine lichte Wolke, und siehe, eine Stimme ⟨kam⟩ aus der Wolke, welche sprach: Dieser ist mein geliebter Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden habe. Ihn hört! (2Mo 24,16; 5Mo 18,15; Mt 3,17)6Und als die Jünger es hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und fürchteten sich sehr.7Und Jesus trat herbei, rührte sie an und sprach: Steht auf und fürchtet euch nicht!8Als sie aber ihre Augen aufhoben, sahen sie niemand als ihn, Jesus, allein. (Hebr 12,2)9Und als sie von dem Berg herabstiegen, gebot ihnen Jesus und sprach: Sagt niemandem die Erscheinung ⟨weiter⟩, bis der Sohn des Menschen aus den Toten auferweckt worden ist! (Mt 16,20)10Und die Jünger fragten ihn und sprachen: Was sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, dass Elia zuerst kommen müsse? (Mt 16,14)11Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Elia kommt zwar und wird alle Dinge wiederherstellen. (Mal 3,23; Apg 3,21)12Ich sage euch aber, dass Elia schon gekommen ist, und sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern an ihm getan, was sie wollten. Ebenso wird auch der Sohn des Menschen von ihnen leiden. (Mt 16,20)13Da verstanden die Jünger, dass er von Johannes dem Täufer zu ihnen sprach. (Mt 11,14; Mt 14,10; Mk 6,28; Lk 1,16)
Heilung eines Fallsüchtigen
14Und als sie zu der Volksmenge kamen, trat ein Mensch zu ihm und fiel vor ihm auf die Knie (Mk 9,14; Lk 8,41; Lk 9,37)15und sprach: Herr, erbarme dich meines Sohnes! Denn er ist anfallskrank und leidet arg; denn oft fällt er ins Feuer und oft ins Wasser.16Und ich brachte ihn zu deinen Jüngern, doch sie konnten ihn nicht heilen.17Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: Ungläubiges und verkehrtes Geschlecht! Bis wann soll ich bei euch sein? Bis wann soll ich euch ertragen? Bringt ihn mir her! (4Mo 14,11; 5Mo 32,5; Apg 2,40; Phil 2,15)18Und Jesus bedrohte ihn, und der Dämon fuhr von ihm aus; und von jener Stunde an war der Junge geheilt. (Mt 8,16; Apg 10,38)19Da traten die Jünger für sich allein zu Jesus und sprachen: Warum haben wir ihn nicht austreiben können?20-21Er aber spricht zu ihnen: Wegen eures Kleinglaubens[2]; denn wahrlich, ich sage euch, wenn ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so werdet ihr zu diesem Berg sagen: Hebe dich weg von hier dorthin!, und er wird sich hinwegheben. Und nichts wird euch unmöglich sein.[3] (Mt 21,21; Mk 11,23; Lk 17,6; 1Kor 13,2; Hebr 3,19)
Zweite Leidensankündigung
22Als sie sich aber in Galiläa aufhielten[4], sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Der Sohn des Menschen wird überliefert werden in der Menschen Hände, (Mt 26,45; Mk 9,30; Lk 9,43)23und sie werden ihn töten, und am dritten Tag wird er auferweckt werden. Und sie wurden sehr betrübt. (Mt 9,15; Mt 16,21; Mk 8,31; Lk 9,22; Joh 16,6)
Die Tempelsteuer
24Als sie aber nach Kapernaum kamen, traten die Einnehmer der Doppeldrachmen zu Petrus und sprachen: Zahlt euer Lehrer nicht die Doppeldrachmen[5]? (2Mo 30,12; 2Chr 24,6; Neh 10,33)25Er sagt: Doch. Und als er in das Haus eintrat, kam Jesus ihm zuvor und sprach: Was meinst du, Simon? Von wem erheben die Könige der Erde Zoll oder Steuer, von ihren Söhnen oder von den Fremden?26Da er aber sagte: Von den Fremden, sprach Jesus zu ihm: Demnach sind die Söhne frei.27Damit wir ihnen aber keinen Anstoß geben, geh an den See, wirf eine Angel aus und nimm den ersten Fisch, der heraufkommt, öffne sein Maul, und du wirst einen Stater[6] finden; den nimm und gib ihnen für mich und dich! (Röm 14,13)

(Lk 1,16; Apg 1,6; Apg 3,21)12But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” (Mt 14,3; Mt 14,10; Mt 16,21)13Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist. (Mt 16,12)
Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon
14And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, (Mk 9,14; Lk 9,37)15said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. (Mt 4,24)16And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” (Mt 10,1; Mk 6,7; Lk 10,17)17And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” (Joh 14,9; Joh 20,27; Phil 2,15)18And Jesus rebuked the demon,[2] and it[3] came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.[4] (Sach 3,2; Mt 8,26; Mt 9,22; Mk 1,25; Lk 4,35; Lk 4,39; Jud 1,9)19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”20He said to them, “Because of your little faith. Jesus Again Foretells Death, Resurrection
22As they were gathering[6] in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, (Mt 16,21; Mt 20,17; Mk 9,30; Lk 9,43)23and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed. (Mk 8,31)
The Temple Tax
24When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” (2Mo 30,13; 2Mo 38,26; Mk 9,33)25He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” (Mt 18,12; Mt 21,28; Mt 22,17; Mt 22,19; Mk 12,14; Röm 13,7)26And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.27However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel.[7] Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”
