Hiobs Antwort: Anerkenntnis der Größe Gottes und bußfertiger Widerruf seiner Anklagen
1Und Hiob antwortete dem HERRN und sagte: (Hi 3,2; Hi 40,3)2Ich habe erkannt, dass du alles vermagst und kein Plan für dich unausführbar ist[1]. (Ps 135,6; Jes 14,27; Jer 32,17; Dan 4,32; Mt 19,26)3»Wer ist es, der den Ratschluss verhüllt ohne Erkenntnis?«[2] So habe ich denn ⟨meine Meinung⟩ mitgeteilt und verstand ⟨doch⟩ nichts, Dinge, die zu wunderbar für mich sind und die ich nicht kannte. (Hi 11,7; Hi 38,2; Ps 139,6; 2Petr 2,12)4Höre doch, und ich will reden! Ich will dich fragen, und du sollst es mich wissen lassen![3] (Hi 38,3)5Vom Hörensagen[4] hatte ich von dir gehört, jetzt aber hat mein Auge dich gesehen. (Jes 6,1)6Darum verwerfe ich ⟨mein Geschwätz⟩ und bereue in Staub und Asche. (Hi 40,4; Dan 9,3; Lk 5,8)
Verurteilung und Begnadigung der Freunde Hiobs – Hiobs Rechtfertigung
7Und es geschah, nachdem der HERR jene Worte zu Hiob geredet hatte, da sprach der HERR zu Elifas von Teman: Mein Zorn ist entbrannt gegen dich und gegen deine beiden Freunde: Denn ihr habt über mich nicht Wahres[5] geredet wie mein Knecht Hiob. (Hi 2,11; Hi 32,3)8Und nun nehmt euch sieben Stiere und sieben Widder und geht zu meinem Knecht Hiob und opfert ein Brandopfer für euch! Und Hiob, mein Knecht, soll für euch Fürbitte tun. Nur ihn will ich annehmen[6], damit ich euch nicht Schimpfliches antue. Denn ihr habt über mich nicht Wahres[7] geredet, wie mein Knecht Hiob. (4Mo 23,1; 1Joh 5,16)9Da gingen Elifas von Teman und Bildad von Schuach ⟨und⟩ Zofar von Naama hin und taten es, wie der HERR zu ihnen geredet hatte. Und der HERR nahm Hiob an[8]. Gottes Segen über Hiob
10Und der HERR wendete das Geschick Hiobs, als der für seine Freunde Fürbitte tat. Und der HERR vermehrte alles, was Hiob gehabt hatte, auf das Doppelte. (Hi 8,7; Jes 61,7)11Da kamen zu ihm all seine Brüder und all seine Schwestern und alle, die ihn früher gekannt hatten. Und sie aßen mit ihm Brot in seinem Haus, und sie bekundeten ihm ihre Teilnahme und trösteten ihn wegen all des Unglücks, das der HERR über ihn gebracht hatte. Und sie gaben ihm jeder eine Kesita[9] und jeder einen goldenen Ring. (Hi 2,11; Hi 19,13; Spr 14,20)12Und der HERR segnete das Ende Hiobs mehr als seinen Anfang. Und er bekam vierzehntausend Schafe und sechstausend Kamele und tausend Gespanne Rinder und tausend Eselinnen. (5Mo 8,16; Hi 1,2; Jak 5,11)13Und es wurden ihm sieben[10] Söhne und drei Töchter ⟨geboren⟩. (Hi 1,2)14Und er gab der ersten den Namen Jemima und der zweiten den Namen Kezia und der dritten den Namen Keren-Happuch[11].15Und so schöne Frauen wie die Töchter Hiobs fand man im ganzen Land nicht. Und ihr Vater gab ihnen ein Erbteil mitten unter ihren Brüdern. (4Mo 27,7)16Und Hiob lebte nach diesen ⟨Ereignissen noch⟩ 140 Jahre. Und er sah seine Kinder und seine Kindeskinder, vier Generationen. (1Mo 50,23; Ps 128,6; Spr 17,6)17Und Hiob starb, alt und der Tage satt. (1Mo 25,8; Hi 5,26; Jak 5,11)
1Then Job answered the Lord and said:2“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. (1Mo 18,14; Mt 19,26)3‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. (Hi 38,2; Ps 40,5; Ps 131,1; Ps 139,6)4‘Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you make it known to me.’ (Hi 38,3; Hi 40,7)5I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;6therefore I despise myself, and repent[1] in dust and ashes.” (1Mo 18,27; Hi 2,8; Hi 30,19)
The Lord Rebukes Job’s Friends
7After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. (1Chr 1,45; Hi 2,11)8Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.” (1Mo 20,7; 4Mo 23,1; 1Sam 12,23; 1Chr 15,26; Hi 1,5; Jak 5,16; 1Joh 5,16)9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the Lord had told them, and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer. (Hi 2,11)
The Lord Restores Job’s Fortunes
10And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Ps 14,7; Jes 40,2; Jes 61,7)11Then came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and ate bread with him in his house. And they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil[2] that the Lord had brought upon him. And each of them gave him a piece of money[3] and a ring of gold. (1Mo 24,22; 1Mo 33,19; Jos 24,32; Hi 2,11; Hi 19,13)12And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning. And he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. (Hi 1,3; Hi 8,7; Hi 42,10)13He had also seven sons and three daughters. (Hi 1,2)14And he called the name of the first daughter Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.15And in all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job’s daughters. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. (4Mo 27,1)16And after this Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, four generations. (1Mo 50,23; Ps 128,6; Jes 53,10)17And Job died, an old man, and full of days. (Hi 5,26)
