Gleichnis vom Sämann
4Als sich aber eine große Volksmenge versammelte und sie aus jeder Stadt zu ihm hinkamen, sprach er in einem Gleichnis:5Der Sämann ging hinaus, seinen Samen zu säen; und indem er säte, fiel einiges an den Weg, und es wurde zertreten, und die Vögel des Himmels fraßen es auf.6Und anderes fiel auf den Felsen; und als es aufging, verdorrte es, weil es keine Feuchtigkeit hatte.7Und anderes fiel mitten unter die Dornen; und indem die Dornen mit aufwuchsen, erstickten sie es.8Und anderes fiel in die gute Erde und ging auf und brachte hundertfache Frucht. Als er dies sagte, rief er aus: Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre! (Lk 14,35)9Seine Jünger aber fragten ihn, was dieses Gleichnis bedeute.10Er aber sprach: Euch ist es gegeben, die Geheimnisse des Reiches[6] Gottes zu wissen, den Übrigen aber in Gleichnissen, damit sie sehend nicht sehen und hörend nicht verstehen. (Joh 12,40)11Dies aber ist die Bedeutung des Gleichnisses[7]: Der Same ist das Wort Gottes. (1Petr 1,23)12Die aber an dem Weg sind die, welche hören; dann kommt der Teufel und nimmt das Wort von ihren Herzen weg, damit sie nicht glauben und gerettet werden.13Die aber auf dem Felsen sind die, welche, wenn sie hören, das Wort mit Freuden aufnehmen; und diese haben keine Wurzel; für eine Zeit glauben sie, und in der Zeit der Versuchung fallen sie ab.14Das aber unter die Dornen fiel, sind die, welche gehört haben und hingehen und durch Sorgen und Reichtum und Vergnügungen des Lebens erstickt werden und nichts zur Reife bringen.15Das in der guten Erde aber sind die, welche in einem redlichen und guten Herzen das Wort, nachdem sie es gehört haben, bewahren und Frucht bringen mit Ausharren. Gleichnis von der Lampe
16Niemand aber, der eine Lampe angezündet hat, bedeckt sie mit einem Gefäß oder stellt sie unter ein Bett, sondern er stellt sie auf ein Lampengestell, damit die Hereinkommenden das Licht sehen. (Lk 11,33)17Denn es ist nichts verborgen, was nicht offenbar werden wird, auch ⟨ist⟩ nichts geheim, was nicht bekannt wird und ans Licht kommt. (Lk 12,2)18Seht nun zu, wie ihr hört! Denn wer hat, dem wird gegeben werden, und wer nicht hat, von dem wird selbst, was er zu haben meint, genommen werden. (Mt 12,46; Mk 3,31; Lk 19,26)
Die wahren Verwandten Jesu
19Es kamen aber seine Mutter und seine Brüder zu ihm; und sie konnten wegen der Volksmenge nicht zu ihm gelangen.20Und es wurde ihm berichtet: Deine Mutter und deine Brüder stehen draußen und wollen dich sehen.21Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Meine Mutter und meine Brüder sind die, welche das Wort Gottes hören und tun. (Mt 7,24; Mt 8,23; Mk 4,35; Lk 11,28)
Stillung des Sturms
22Und es geschah an einem der Tage, dass er in ein Boot stieg, er und seine Jünger; und er sprach zu ihnen: Lasst uns übersetzen an das jenseitige Ufer des Sees. Und sie fuhren ab.23Während sie aber fuhren, schlief er ein. Und es fiel ein Sturmwind auf den See, und das Boot füllte sich[8] ⟨mit Wasser⟩, und sie waren in Gefahr.24Sie traten aber hinzu und weckten ihn auf und sprachen: Meister, Meister, wir kommen um! Er aber stand auf, bedrohte den Wind und das Gewoge des Wassers; und sie legten sich, und es trat Stille ein. (Ps 107,6)25Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wo ist euer Glaube? Erschrocken aber erstaunten sie und sagten zueinander: Wer ist denn dieser, dass er auch den Winden und dem Wasser gebietet und sie ihm gehorchen? (Mt 8,28; Mk 5,1; Lk 9,43)
Heilung eines besessenen Geraseners
26Und sie fuhren nach der Landschaft der Gerasener, die Galiläa gegenüberliegt.27Als er aber an das Land gestiegen war, kam ihm ein Mann aus der Stadt entgegen, der Dämonen hatte und seit langer Zeit keine Kleider anzog und nicht im Haus blieb, sondern in den Grabstätten.28Als er aber Jesus sah, schrie er auf und fiel vor ihm nieder und sprach mit lauter Stimme: Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen, Jesus, Sohn Gottes, des Höchsten? Ich bitte dich, quäle mich nicht. (Lk 4,34)29Denn er hatte dem unreinen Geist geboten, von dem Menschen auszufahren. Denn öfters hatte er ihn gepackt; und er war gebunden mit Ketten und Fußfesseln ⟨und⟩ bewacht ⟨worden⟩, und er zerbrach die Fesseln und wurde von dem Dämon in die Wüsten getrieben. (Mk 9,25; Lk 9,39)30Jesus fragte ihn aber und sprach: Was ist dein Name? Er aber sprach: Legion. Denn viele Dämonen waren in ihn gefahren. (Lk 8,2)31Und sie baten ihn, dass er ihnen nicht gebiete, in den Abgrund zu fahren. (2Petr 2,4; Offb 20,3)32Es war aber dort eine Herde von vielen Schweinen, die an dem Berg weideten. Und sie baten ihn, dass er ihnen erlaube, in jene zu fahren. Und er erlaubte es ihnen.33Die Dämonen aber fuhren von dem Menschen aus und fuhren in die Schweine, und die Herde stürzte sich den Abhang hinab in den See und ertrank.34Als aber die Hüter sahen, was geschehen war, flohen sie und verkündeten es in der Stadt und auf dem Land.35Die Leute aber gingen hinaus, um zu sehen, was geschehen war. Und sie kamen zu Jesus und fanden den Menschen, von dem die Dämonen ausgefahren waren, bekleidet und vernünftig zu den Füßen Jesu ⟨sitzen⟩; und sie fürchteten sich.36Die es aber gesehen hatten, verkündeten ihnen, wie der Besessene geheilt[9] worden war.37Und die ganze Menge aus der Umgegend der Gerasener bat ihn, von ihnen wegzugehen, denn sie waren von großer Furcht ergriffen. Er aber stieg in das Boot und kehrte wieder zurück. (Apg 16,39)38Der Mann aber, von dem die Dämonen ausgefahren waren, bat ihn, dass er bei ihm bleiben dürfe. Er aber entließ ihn und sprach:39Kehre in dein Haus zurück und erzähle, wie viel Gott an dir getan hat! Und er ging hin und rief aus durch die ganze Stadt, wie viel Jesus an ihm getan hatte. Heilung der blutflüssigen Frau – Auferweckung der Tochter des Jaïrus
40Es geschah aber, als Jesus zurückkehrte, nahm ihn die Volksmenge auf, denn alle erwarteten ihn.41Und siehe, es kam ein Mann mit Namen Jaïrus – und er war Vorsteher der Synagoge – und fiel Jesus zu Füßen und bat ihn, in sein Haus zu kommen; (Mt 17,14; Mk 7,25)42denn er hatte eine einzige Tochter von etwa zwölf Jahren, und diese lag im Sterben. Während er aber hinging, drängten ihn die Volksmengen. (Lk 7,12)43Und eine Frau, die seit zwölf Jahren mit einem Blutfluss behaftet war und, obgleich sie ihren ganzen Lebensunterhalt an ⟨die⟩ Ärzte verwandt hatte, von niemand geheilt werden konnte,44kam von hinten heran und rührte die Quaste seines Gewandes an; und sogleich hörte ihr Blutfluss auf. (5Mo 22,12; Mk 3,10)45Und Jesus sprach: Wer ist es, der mich angerührt hat? Als aber alle es abstritten, sprach Petrus[10]: Meister, die Volksmengen drängen und drücken dich![11]46Jesus aber sprach: Es hat mich jemand angerührt; denn ich habe gespürt, dass Kraft von mir ausgegangen ist. (Lk 5,17)47Als die Frau aber sah, dass sie nicht verborgen blieb, kam sie zitternd und fiel vor ihm nieder und berichtete vor dem ganzen Volk, aus welchem Grund sie ihn angerührt habe und wie sie sogleich geheilt worden sei. 1Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. The Parable of the Sower
4And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, he said in a parable, (Mt 13,1; Mk 4,1)5“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. (Jes 55,10; Am 9,13)6And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. (Joh 15,6)7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. (Jer 4,3)8And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (1Mo 26,12; Mt 11,15)
The Purpose of the Parables
9And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant,10he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ (Jes 6,9; Mt 11,25; Mt 13,13; Mt 19,11; Röm 16,25; 1Kor 2,6; Kol 1,27; 1Joh 2,20; 1Joh 2,27)11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. (Mt 13,18; Mk 2,2; Mk 4,13; Mk 4,33; Lk 1,2; Apg 8,4; Jak 1,21)12The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. (Mk 16,16)13And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. (Jes 58,2; Hes 33,31; Hos 6,4; Mk 6,20; Joh 5,35; Gal 1,6; Gal 5,7; 1Tim 4,1; Hebr 3,12)14And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. (Mt 6,25; Jak 1,11)15As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. A Lamp Under a Jar
16“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. (Mt 5,15; Mk 4,21; Lk 11,33)17For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. (Mt 10,26; Lk 12,2; 1Tim 5,25)18Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.” (Mt 13,12; Lk 8,11)
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers
19Then his mother and his brothers[2] came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. (Mt 12,46; Mt 13,55; Mk 3,31; Mk 6,3; Joh 2,12; Joh 7,3; Joh 7,5; Joh 7,10; Apg 1,14; 1Kor 9,5; Gal 1,19)20And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.”21But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.” (Lk 11,28; Jak 1,22)
Jesus Calms a Storm
22One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, (Mt 8,23; Mk 4,36; Lk 5,1; Lk 8,33; Joh 6,16)23and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. (Lk 8,22)24And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. (Ps 65,7; Ps 104,7; Mt 14,32; Mk 6,51; Lk 4,39)25He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?” (Mk 1,27; Lk 5,9; Joh 14,27)
Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon
26Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes,[3] which is opposite Galilee. (Mt 8,28; Mk 5,1)27When Jesus[4] had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs. (Offb 18,2)28When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” (1Mo 14,18; 4Mo 24,16; Ps 57,2; Jes 14,14; Dan 3,26; Mt 14,33; Mk 1,23; Mk 1,26; Lk 1,32; Lk 4,3; Lk 4,9; Lk 4,33; Lk 6,35; Apg 8,7; Apg 16,17)29For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.) (Mt 12,43; Lk 11,24)30Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. (Mt 26,53)31And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss. (Offb 9,1)32Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission.33Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned. (Lk 8,22)34When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.35Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. (Lk 8,27; Lk 10,39)36And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed[5] man had been healed.37Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. (Lk 5,8; Apg 16,39)38The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,39“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him. (Ps 66,16; Lk 5,14)
Jesus Heals a Woman and Jairus’s Daughter
40Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. (Lk 9,11)41And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored him to come to his house, (Mt 9,18; Mk 5,22; Lk 13,14; Apg 13,15; Apg 18,8; Apg 18,17)42for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. (Mk 3,9; Lk 7,12; Lk 8,45)43And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians,[6] she could not be healed by anyone. (3Mo 15,25; Mk 12,44; Lk 21,4)44She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased. (4Mo 15,38; 5Mo 22,12; Mt 14,36; Mt 15,28; Mt 17,18; Mt 23,5)45And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter[7] said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”46But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.” (Lk 5,17; Lk 6,19; Apg 10,38)47And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.48And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” (Lk 7,50)49While he was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.” (Lk 7,6; Lk 8,41; Joh 11,28)50But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”51And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except Peter and John and James, and the father and mother of the child. (Mk 3,17; Mk 14,33; Lk 9,28)52And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.” (Mt 11,17; Lk 7,13; Lk 23,27; Joh 11,4; Joh 11,11; Apg 20,10)53And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.54But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.” (Mt 11,5; Mk 1,31; Lk 7,14; Lk 7,22; Joh 11,43)55And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. (Ri 15,19; 1Sam 30,12)56And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened. (Mt 8,4)

Una lámpara en una repisa
16»Nadie enciende una lámpara para después cubrirla con una vasija o ponerla debajo de la cama, sino para ponerla en una repisa, a fin de que los que entren tengan luz.17No hay nada escondido que no llegue a descubrirse, ni nada oculto que no llegue a conocerse públicamente.18Por lo tanto, pongan mucha atención. Al que tiene, se le dará más; al que no tiene, hasta lo que cree tener se le quitará.»
La madre y los hermanos de Jesús
19La madre y los hermanos de Jesús fueron a verlo, pero como había mucha gente, no lograban acercársele.20—Tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera y quieren verte —le avisaron.21Pero él les contestó: —Mi madre y mis hermanos son los que oyen la palabra de Dios y la ponen en práctica.
Jesús calma la tormenta
22Un día subió Jesús con sus discípulos a una barca. —Crucemos al otro lado del lago —les dijo. Así que partieron,23y mientras navegaban, él se durmió. Entonces se desató una tormenta sobre el lago, de modo que la barca comenzó a inundarse y corrían gran peligro.24Los discípulos fueron a despertarlo. —¡Maestro, Maestro, nos vamos a ahogar! —gritaron. Él se levantó y reprendió al viento y a las olas; la tormenta se apaciguó y todo quedó tranquilo.25—¿Dónde está la fe de ustedes? —les dijo a sus discípulos. Con temor y asombro ellos se decían unos a otros: «¿Quién es éste, que manda aun a los vientos y al agua, y le obedecen?»
Liberación de un endemoniado
26Navegaron hasta la región de los gerasenos,[2] que está al otro lado del lago, frente a Galilea.27Al desembarcar Jesús, un endemoniado que venía del pueblo le salió al encuentro. Hacía mucho tiempo que este hombre no se vestía; tampoco vivía en una casa sino en los sepulcros.28Cuando vio a Jesús, dio un grito y se arrojó a sus pies. Entonces exclamó con fuerza: —¿Por qué te entrometes, Jesús, Hijo del Dios Altísimo? ¡Te ruego que no me atormentes!29Es que Jesús le había ordenado al espíritu maligno que saliera del hombre. Se había apoderado de él muchas veces y, aunque le sujetaban los pies y las manos con cadenas y lo mantenían bajo custodia, rompía las cadenas y el demonio lo arrastraba a lugares solitarios.30—¿Cómo te llamas? —le preguntó Jesús. —Legión —respondió, ya que habían entrado en él muchos demonios.31Y éstos le suplicaban a Jesús que no los mandara al abismo.32Como había una manada grande de cerdos paciendo en la colina, le rogaron a Jesús que los dejara entrar en ellos. Así que él les dio permiso.33Y cuando los demonios salieron del hombre, entraron en los cerdos, y la manada se precipitó al lago por el despeñadero y se ahogó.34Al ver lo sucedido, los que cuidaban los cerdos huyeron y dieron la noticia en el pueblo y por los campos,35y la gente salió a ver lo que había pasado. Llegaron adonde estaba Jesús y encontraron, sentado a sus pies, al hombre de quien habían salido los demonios. Cuando lo vieron vestido y en su sano juicio, tuvieron miedo.36Los que habían presenciado estas cosas le contaron a la gente cómo el endemoniado había sido sanado.37Entonces toda la gente de la región de los gerasenos le pidió a Jesús que se fuera de allí, porque les había entrado mucho miedo. Así que él subió a la barca para irse.38Ahora bien, el hombre de quien habían salido los demonios le rogaba que le permitiera acompañarlo, pero Jesús lo despidió y le dijo:39—Vuelve a tu casa y cuenta todo lo que Dios ha hecho por ti. Así que el hombre se fue y proclamó por todo el pueblo lo mucho que Jesús había hecho por él.
Una niña muerta y una mujer enferma
40Cuando Jesús regresó, la multitud se alegró de verlo, pues todos estaban esperándolo.41En esto llegó un hombre llamado Jairo, que era un jefe de la sinagoga. Arrojándose a los pies de Jesús, le suplicaba que fuera a su casa,42porque su única hija, de unos doce años, se estaba muriendo. Jesús se puso en camino y las multitudes lo apretujaban.43Había entre la gente una mujer que hacía doce años padecía de hemorragias,[3] sin que nadie pudiera sanarla.44Ella se le acercó por detrás y le tocó el borde del manto, y al instante cesó su hemorragia.45—¿Quién me ha tocado? —preguntó Jesús. Como todos negaban haberlo tocado, Pedro le dijo: —Maestro, son multitudes las que te aprietan y te oprimen.46—No, alguien me ha tocado —replicó Jesús—; yo sé que de mí ha salido poder.47La mujer, al ver que no podía pasar inadvertida, se acercó temblando y se arrojó a sus pies. En presencia de toda la gente, contó por qué lo había tocado y cómo había sido sanada al instante.48—Hija, tu fe te ha sanado —le dijo Jesús—. Vete en paz.49Todavía estaba hablando Jesús, cuando alguien llegó de la casa de Jairo, jefe de la sinagoga, para decirle: —Tu hija ha muerto. No molestes más al Maestro.50Al oír esto, Jesús le dijo a Jairo: —No tengas miedo; cree nada más, y ella será sanada.51Cuando llegó a la casa de Jairo, no dejó que nadie entrara con él, excepto Pedro, Juan y Jacobo, y el padre y la madre de la niña.52Todos estaban llorando, muy afligidos por ella. —Dejen de llorar —les dijo Jesús—. No está muerta sino dormida.53Entonces ellos empezaron a burlarse de él porque sabían que estaba muerta.54Pero él la tomó de la mano y le dijo: —¡Niña, levántate!55Recobró la vida[4] y al instante se levantó. Jesús mandó darle de comer.56Los padres se quedaron atónitos, pero él les advirtió que no contaran a nadie lo que había sucedido.

Le donne che accompagnavano Gesù
1In seguito egli se ne andava per città e villaggi, predicando e annunciando la buona notizia del regno di Dio.2Con lui vi erano i dodici e alcune donne che erano state guarite da spiriti maligni e da malattie: Maria, detta Maddalena, dalla quale erano usciti sette demòni;3Giovanna, moglie di Cuza, l’amministratore di Erode; Susanna e molte altre che li assistevano con i loro beni.
Il seminatore e i diversi terreni
4Or come si riuniva una gran folla e la gente di ogni città accorreva a lui, egli disse in parabola:5«Il seminatore uscì a seminare la sua semenza; e, mentre seminava, una parte del seme cadde lungo la strada: fu calpestato e gli uccelli del cielo lo mangiarono.6Un’altra cadde sulla roccia: appena fu germogliato seccò, perché non aveva umidità.7Un’altra cadde in mezzo alle spine: le spine, crescendo insieme ad esso, lo soffocarono.8Un’altra parte cadde in un buon terreno: quando fu germogliato, produsse il cento per uno». Dicendo queste cose, esclamava: «Chi ha orecchi per udire oda!»9I suoi discepoli gli domandarono che cosa volesse dire questa parabola.10Ed egli disse: «A voi è dato di conoscere i misteri del regno di Dio; ma agli altri se ne parla in parabole, affinché vedendo non vedano, e udendo non comprendano[1].11Or questo è il significato della parabola: il seme è la parola di Dio.12Quelli lungo la strada sono coloro che ascoltano, ma poi viene il diavolo e porta via la parola dal loro cuore, affinché non credano e non siano salvati.13Quelli sulla roccia sono coloro i quali, quando ascoltano la parola, la ricevono con gioia; ma costoro non hanno radice, credono per un certo tempo ma, quando viene la prova, si tirano indietro.14Quello che è caduto tra le spine sono coloro che ascoltano, ma se ne vanno e restano soffocati dalle preoccupazioni, dalle ricchezze e dai piaceri della vita, e non arrivano a maturità.15E quello che è caduto in un buon terreno sono coloro i quali, dopo aver udito la parola, la ritengono in un cuore onesto e buono e portano frutto con perseveranza.
La lampada sul candeliere
16«Nessuno, accesa una lampada, la copre con un vaso o la mette sotto il letto; anzi la mette sul candeliere, perché chi entra veda la luce.17Poiché non c’è nulla di nascosto che non debba manifestarsi, né di segreto che non debba essere conosciuto e venire alla luce.18Attenti dunque a come ascoltate: perché a chi ha, sarà dato, ma a chi non ha, anche quello che pensa di avere gli sarà tolto».
La madre e i fratelli di Gesù
19Sua madre e i suoi fratelli vennero a trovarlo, ma non potevano avvicinarlo a motivo della folla.20Gli fu riferito: «Tua madre e i tuoi fratelli sono là fuori e vogliono vederti».21Ma egli rispose loro: «Mia madre e i miei fratelli sono quelli che ascoltano la parola di Dio e la mettono in pratica».
Gesù calma la tempesta
22Un giorno egli salì su una barca con i suoi discepoli e disse loro: «Passiamo all’altra riva del lago». E presero il largo.23Mentre navigavano, egli si addormentò; e si abbatté sul lago un turbine di vento, tanto che la barca si riempiva d’acqua, ed essi erano in pericolo.24Essi, avvicinatisi, lo svegliarono, dicendo: «Maestro, Maestro, noi periamo!» Ma egli, destatosi, sgridò il vento e i flutti, che si calmarono, e si fece bonaccia.25Poi disse loro: «Dov’è la vostra fede?» Ma essi, impauriti e meravigliati, dicevano l’uno all’altro: «Chi è mai costui che comanda anche ai venti e all’acqua, e gli ubbidiscono?»
Gesù guarisce l’indemoniato di Gerasa
26Approdarono nel paese dei Gerasèni, che sta di fronte alla Galilea.27Quando egli fu sceso a terra, gli venne incontro un uomo della città: era posseduto da demòni e da molto tempo non indossava vestiti; non abitava in una casa, ma stava fra le tombe.28Appena vide Gesù, lanciò un grido, gli si gettò ai piedi e disse a gran voce: «Che c’è fra me e te, Gesù, Figlio del Dio Altissimo? Ti prego, non tormentarmi».29Gesù, infatti, aveva comandato allo spirito immondo di uscire da quell’uomo, di cui si era impadronito da molto tempo; e, anche quando lo legavano con catene e lo custodivano in ceppi, spezzava i legami e veniva trascinato via dal demonio nei deserti.30Gesù gli domandò: «Qual è il tuo nome?» Ed egli rispose: «Legione»; perché molti demòni erano entrati in lui.31Ed essi lo pregavano che non comandasse loro di andare nell’abisso.32C’era là un branco numeroso di porci che pascolava sul monte; e i demòni lo pregarono di permettere loro di entrare in quelli. Ed egli lo permise.33I demòni, usciti da quell’uomo, entrarono nei porci; e quel branco si gettò a precipizio giù nel lago e affogò.34Coloro che li custodivano videro ciò che era avvenuto, se ne fuggirono e portarono la notizia in città e per la campagna.35La gente uscì a vedere l’accaduto; e, venuta da Gesù, trovò l’uomo dal quale erano usciti i demòni che sedeva ai piedi di Gesù, vestito e sano di mente; e si impaurì.36Quelli che avevano visto raccontarono loro come l’indemoniato era stato liberato.37L’intera popolazione della regione dei Gerasèni pregò Gesù che se ne andasse via da loro, perché erano presi da grande spavento. Egli, salito su una barca, se ne tornò indietro.38L’uomo dal quale erano usciti i demòni lo pregava di poter restare con lui, ma egli lo rimandò, dicendo:39«Torna a casa tua e racconta le grandi cose che Dio ha fatte per te». Ed egli se ne andò per tutta la città, proclamando le grandi cose che Gesù aveva fatto per lui.
Gesù guarisce una donna e risuscita la figlia di Iairo
40Al suo ritorno, Gesù fu accolto dalla folla, perché tutti lo stavano aspettando.41Ecco venire un uomo di nome Iairo, che era capo della sinagoga; e, gettatosi ai piedi di Gesù, lo pregava di entrare in casa sua,42perché aveva una figlia unica, di circa dodici anni, che stava per morire. Or mentre Gesù vi andava, la folla faceva ressa intorno a lui.43Una donna, che aveva perdite di sangue da dodici anni {e aveva speso tutti i suoi beni con i medici} senza poter essere guarita da nessuno,44si avvicinò di dietro e gli toccò il lembo della veste; e in quell’istante il suo flusso di sangue cessò.45E Gesù disse: «Chi mi ha toccato?» E siccome tutti negavano, Pietro e quelli che erano con lui dissero: «Maestro, la folla ti stringe e ti preme».46Ma Gesù replicò: «Qualcuno mi ha toccato, perché ho sentito che una potenza è uscita da me».47La donna, vedendo che non era rimasta inosservata, venne tutta tremante e, gettatasi ai suoi piedi, dichiarò, in presenza di tutto il popolo, per quale motivo lo aveva toccato e come era stata guarita in un istante.48Ma egli le disse: «Figliola, la tua fede ti ha salvata; va’ in pace».49Mentre egli parlava ancora, venne uno dalla casa del capo della sinagoga, dicendo: «Tua figlia è morta; non disturbare più il Maestro».50Ma Gesù, udito ciò, rispose a Iairo: «Non temere; solo abbi fede, e sarà salva».51Arrivato alla casa, non permise a nessuno di entrare con lui all’infuori di Pietro, Giovanni, Giacomo, il padre e la madre della bambina.52Or tutti piangevano e facevano cordoglio per lei. Ma egli disse: «Non piangete, perché non è morta, ma dorme».53E ridevano di lui, sapendo che era morta.54Ma egli, prendendole la mano, disse ad alta voce: «Bambina, àlzati».55Lo spirito di lei ritornò ed ella si alzò subito; Gesù comandò che le fosse dato da mangiare.56E i genitori di lei rimasero sbalorditi; ma egli ordinò loro di non dire a nessuno quello che era avvenuto.
