(Hi 10,3; Ps 57,3; Ps 100,5; Phil 1,6)

1 Of David. I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; (Ps 95,3; Ps 96,5; Ps 111,1)2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.[1] (1Kön 8,29; Ps 5,7; Ps 28,2)3 On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.[2]4 All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth, (Ps 102,15)5 and they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. (Ps 103,7)6 For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar. (Ps 113,5; Ps 131,1; Spr 3,34; Lk 1,48; Jak 4,6)7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. Psalm 138

New International Version

von Biblica
1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the ‘gods’ I will sing your praise.2 I will bow down towards your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.3 When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord, when they hear what you have decreed.5 May they sing of the ways of the Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great.6 Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.8 The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures for ever – do not abandon the works of your hands.

Psalm 138

New International Reader’s Version

von Biblica
1 LORD, I will praise you with all my heart. In front of those who think they are gods I will sing praise to you.2 I will bow down facing your holy temple. I will praise your name, because you are always loving and faithful. You have honoured your holy word even more than your own fame.3 When I called out to you, you answered me. You made me strong and brave.4 LORD, may all the kings on earth praise you when they hear about what you have decided.5 LORD, may they sing about what you have done, because your glory is great.6 Though the LORD is high above all, he cares for the lowly. Though he is in heaven above, he sees them on earth below.7 Trouble is all around me, but you keep me alive. You reach out your hand to put a stop to the anger of my enemies. With your powerful right hand you save me.8 LORD, you will show that I was right to trust you. LORD, your faithful love continues for ever. You have done so much for us, so don’t stop now.

Psalm 138

King James Version

1 A Psalm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
