1 我 这 作 长 老 、 作 基 督 受 苦 的 见 证 、 同 享 後 来 所 要 显 现 之 荣 耀 的 ， 劝 你 们 中 间 与 我 同 作 长 老 的 人 ： 2 务 要 牧 养 在 你 们 中 间 神 的 群 羊 ， 按 着 神 旨 意 照 管 他 们 ； 不 是 出 於 勉 强 ， 乃 是 出 於 甘 心 ； 也 不 是 因 为 贪 财 ， 乃 是 出 於 乐 意 ； 3 也 不 是 辖 制 所 托 付 你 们 的 ， 乃 是 作 群 羊 的 榜 样 。 4 到 了 牧 长 显 现 的 时 候 ， 你 们 必 得 那 永 不 衰 残 的 荣 耀 冠 冕 。 5 你 们 年 幼 的 ， 也 要 顺 服 年 长 的 。 就 是 你 们 众 人 也 都 要 以 谦 卑 束 腰 ， 彼 此 顺 服 ； 因 为 神 阻 挡 骄 傲 的 人 ， 赐 恩 给 谦 卑 的 人 。 6 所 以 ， 你 们 要 自 卑 ， 服 在 神 大 能 的 手 下 ， 到 了 时 候 他 必 叫 你 们 升 高 。 7 你 们 要 将 一 切 的 忧 虑 卸 给 神 ， 因 为 他 顾 念 你 们 。 8 务 要 谨 守 ， 儆 醒 。 因 为 你 们 的 仇 敌 魔 鬼 ， 如 同 吼 叫 的 狮 子 ， 遍 地 游 行 ， 寻 找 可 吞 吃 的 人 。 9 你 们 要 用 坚 固 的 信 心 抵 挡 他 ， 因 为 知 道 你 们 在 世 上 的 众 弟 兄 也 是 经 历 这 样 的 苦 难 。 10 那 赐 诸 般 恩 典 的 神 曾 在 基 督 里 召 你 们 ， 得 享 他 永 远 的 荣 耀 ， 等 你 们 暂 受 苦 难 之 後 ， 必 要 亲 自 成 全 你 们 ， 坚 固 你 们 ， 赐 力 量 给 你 们 。 11 愿 权 能 归 给 他 ， 直 到 永 永 远 远 。 阿 们 ！ 12 我 略 略 的 写 了 这 信 ， 托 我 所 看 为 忠 心 的 兄 弟 西 拉 转 交 你 们 ， 劝 勉 你 们 ， 又 证 明 这 恩 是 神 的 真 恩 。 你 们 务 要 在 这 恩 上 站 立 得 住 。 13 在 巴 比 伦 与 你 们 同 蒙 拣 选 的 教 会 问 你 们 安 。 我 儿 子 马 可 也 问 你 们 安 。 14 你 们 要 用 爱 心 彼 此 亲 嘴 问 安 。 愿 平 安 归 与 你 们 凡 在 基 督 里 的 人 ！

1 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: (路24:48; 约二1:1; 约三1:1) 2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight,[1] not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;[2] not for shameful gain, but eagerly; (约21:16; 提前3:8; 多1:7; 门1:14; 犹1:12) 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. (结34:4; 太20:25; 可10:42; 林后1:24; 腓3:17; 帖后3:9; 提前4:12; 多2:7) 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. (林前9:25; 來13:20; 雅1:12; 彼前1:4) 5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (太20:26; 约13:4; 约13:14; 雅4:6; 雅4:10) 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, (彼前5:5) 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (诗37:5; 诗40:17; 诗55:22; 太6:25) 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (伯1:7; 伯1:9; 伯2:2; 诗22:21; 太24:42; 路22:31; 林后2:11; 弗4:27; 弗6:11; 彼前1:13; 启12:9; 启12:12) 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. (徒14:22; 西2:5; 帖前3:3; 提后3:12; 雅4:7) 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. (路22:32; 羅16:25; 林前1:9; 帖前2:12; 提前6:12; 提后2:10; 來13:21; 彼前1:6) 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (彼前4:11) 12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it. (徒11:23; 徒15:22; 林前15:1; 林后1:19; 帖前1:1; 帖后1:1; 來13:22) 13 She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son.
