1Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, (结40:3; 亚2:1; 启21:15)2but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. (结40:17; 结40:20; 路21:24; 启12:6; 启13:5)3And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” (赛20:2; 启11:2)4These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. (诗52:8; 耶11:16; 亚4:3; 亚4:11; 亚4:14)5And if anyone would harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, this is how he is doomed to be killed. (民16:29; 民16:35; 王下1:10; 王下1:12; 耶5:14)6They have the power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire. (撒上4:8; 王上17:1; 路4:25; 雅5:17)7And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit[1] will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, (但7:21; 启9:1; 启13:1; 启17:8)8and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically[2] is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified. (赛1:10; 赛3:9; 结23:3; 结23:8; 结23:19; 结23:27)9For three and a half days some from the peoples and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and refuse to let them be placed in a tomb, (诗79:2)10and those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and exchange presents, because these two prophets had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth. (王上18:17; 尼8:10; 尼8:12; 斯9:19; 斯9:22; 约16:20; 启3:10)11But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. (创2:7; 结37:5; 结37:9; 结37:14)12Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them. (王下2:11; 徒1:9; 启4:1; 启12:5)13And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. (书7:19; 代下36:23; 启6:12; 启14:7; 启16:9; 启16:19; 启19:7)14The second woe has passed; behold, the third woe is soon to come. (启8:13; 启9:12)
The Seventh Trumpet
15Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” (诗2:2; 赛27:13; 路1:33; 路9:20; 启10:7; 启12:10; 启16:17; 启19:1)16And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, (启4:4; 启4:10)17saying, “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign. (诗97:1; 启1:4; 启1:8; 启4:8; 启16:5; 启19:6)18The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.” (诗2:5; 诗110:5; 但7:10; 帖后1:6; 启6:10; 启13:10; 启19:5; 启20:12)19Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings,[3] peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail. (來9:4; 启15:5; 启16:21)
