1 Potom určil Pán ještě sedmdesát jiných a poslal je před sebou po dvou do každého města i místa, kam měl sám jít.2 Řekl jim: „Žeň je mnohá, dělníků málo. Proste proto Pána žně, ať vyšle dělníky na svou žeň.3 Jděte! Hle, posílám vás jako ovce mezi vlky.4 Neberte si měšec ani mošnu ani obuv. S nikým se na cestě nepozdravujte.5 Když vejdete do některého domu, řekněte nejprve: ‚Pokoj tomuto domu!‘6 A přijmou-li pozdrav pokoje, váš pokoj na nich spočine; ne-li, vrátí se opět k vám.7 V tom domě zůstaňte, jezte a pijte, co vám dají, neboť ‚hoden je dělník své mzdy ‘! Nepřecházejte z domu do domu.8 A když přijdete do některého města a tam vás přijmou, jezte, co vám předloží;9 uzdravujte tam nemocné a vyřiďte jim: ‚Přiblížilo se k vám království Boží.‘10 Když však přijdete do některého města a nepřijmou vás, vyjděte do jeho ulic a řekněte:11 ‚Vytřásáme na vás i ten prach z vašeho města, který ulpěl na našich nohou! Ale to vězte: Přiblížilo se království Boží.‘12 Pravím vám, že Sodomě bude v onen den lehčeji než tomu městu.
— Běda nevěřícím městům
13 Běda ti, Chorazin, běda ti, Betsaido! Kdyby se byly v Týru a Sidónu udály takové mocné skutky jako u vás, dávno by byli seděli v žíněném šatě, sypali se popelem a činili pokání.14 Ale Týru a Sidónu bude na soudu lehčeji než vám.15 A ty, Kafarnaum, budeš snad vyvýšeno až do nebe? Až do propasti klesneš!16 Kdo slyší vás, slyší mne, a kdo odmítá vás, odmítá mne; kdo odmítá mne, odmítá toho, který mě poslal.“

17 Těch sedmdesát se vrátilo s radostí a říkali: „Pane, i démoni se nám podrobují ve tvém jménu.“18 Řekl jim: „Viděl jsem, jak satan padá z nebe jako blesk.19 Hle, dal jsem vám moc šlapat po hadech a štírech a po veškeré síle nepřítele, takže vám v ničem neuškodí.20 Ale neradujte se z toho, že se vám podrobují duchové; radujte se, že vaše jména jsou zapsána v nebesích.“

21 V té hodině zajásal v Duchu svatém a řekl: „Velebím tě, Otče, Pane nebes i země, že jsi tyto věci skryl před moudrými a rozumnými, a zjevil jsi je maličkým. Ano, Otče, tak se ti zalíbilo.22 Všechno je mi dáno od mého Otce; a nikdo neví, kdo je Syn, než Otec, ani kdo je Otec, než Syn a ten, komu by to Syn chtěl zjevit.“ 23 Když byli sami, obrátil se na své učedníky a řekl jim: „Blahoslavené oči, které vidí, co vy vidíte.24 Říkám vám, že mnozí proroci a králové chtěli vidět, na co vy hledíte, ale neviděli; a slyšet, co vy slyšíte, ale neslyšeli.“
— Podobenství o milosrdném Samařanu
25 Tu vystoupil jeden zákoník a zkoušel ho: „Mistře, co mám dělat, abych měl podíl na věčném životě?“26 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Co je psáno v Zákoně? Jak to tam čteš?“27 On mu řekl: „‚Miluj Hospodina, Boha svého, z celého svého srdce, celou svou duší, celou svou silou a celou svou myslí‘ a ‚miluj svého bližního jako sám sebe.‘„28 Ježíš mu řekl: „Správně jsi odpověděl. To čiň a budeš živ.“ 29 Zákoník se však chtěl ospravedlnit, a proto Ježíšovi řekl: „A kdo je můj bližní?“30 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Jeden člověk šel z Jeruzaléma do Jericha a padl do rukou lupičů; ti jej obrali, zbili a nechali tam ležet polomrtvého.31 Náhodou šel tou cestou jeden kněz, ale když ho uviděl, vyhnul se mu.32 A stejně se mu vyhnul i levita, když přišel k tomu místu a uviděl ho.33 Ale když jeden Samařan na své cestě přišel k tomu místu a uviděl ho, byl pohnut soucitem;34 přistoupil k němu, ošetřil jeho rány olejem a vínem a obvázal mu je, posadil jej na svého mezka, zavezl do hostince a tam se o něj staral.35 Druhého dne dal hostinskému dva denáry a řekl: ‚Postarej se o něj, a bude-li tě to stát víc, já ti to zaplatím, až se budu vracet.‘36 Kdo z těch tří, myslíš, byl bližním tomu, který upadl mezi lupiče?“37 Zákoník odpověděl: „Ten, který mu prokázal milosrdenství.“ Ježíš mu řekl: „Jdi a jednej také tak.“
— Marie a Marta
38 Když šel Ježíš s učedníky dál, vešel do jedné vesnice. Tam jej přijala do svého domu žena jménem Marta,39 která měla sestru Marii; ta si sedla k nohám Ježíšovým a poslouchala jeho slovo.40 Ale Marta měla plno práce, aby ho obsloužila. Přišla k němu a řekla: „Pane, nezáleží ti na tom, že mne má sestra nechala sloužit samotnou? Řekni jí přece, ať mi pomůže!“41 Pán jí odpověděl: „Marto, Marto, děláš si starosti a trápíš se pro mnoho věcí.42 Jen jednoho je třeba. Marie volila dobře; vybrala si to, oč nepřijde.“

Woe to Unrepentant Cities
13“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. (Ez 28,2; Am 1,9; Mt 11,21)14But it will be more bearable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. (L 10,13; L 12,47)15And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades. The Return of the Seventy-Two
17The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Mk 16,17; L 10,1)18And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Jesus Rejoices in the Father’s Will
21In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.[2] (Jb 37,24; Ž 8,2; Iz 53,11; Mt 11,25; Mt 16,17; Mt 21,16; Mk 12,36; L 8,10; L 12,32; Sk 17,24; 1K 1,19; 2K 3,14)22All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” (Mt 28,18; J 1,18; J 6,46; J 7,29; J 8,19; J 10,15; J 17,25; J 17,26)23Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! The Parable of the Good Samaritan

(Iz 1,6)35And the next day he took out two denarii[3] and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ (Mt 18,28)36Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?”37He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Martha and Mary
38Now as they went on their way, Jesus[4] entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. (L 19,6; J 11,1; J 11,19; J 12,2)39And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. (L 8,35; L 10,38; Sk 22,3)40But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”41But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, (L 12,22; 1K 7,32)42but one thing is necessary.[5] Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” (Ž 16,5)
