První kniha žalmů - BLAZE MUŽI, KTERÝ SE NEŘÍDÍ RADAMI SVÉVOLNÍKŮ

1 Blaze muži, který se neřídí radami svévolníků, který nestojí na cestě hříšných, který nesedává s posměvači,  

2 nýbrž si oblíbil Hospodinův zákon, nad jeho zákonem rozjímá ve dne i v noci.  

3 Je jako strom zasazený u tekoucí vody, který dává své ovoce v pravý čas, jemuž listí neuvadá. Vše, co podnikne, se zdaří.  

4 Se svévolníky je tomu jinak: jsou jak plevy hnané větrem.  

5  Na soudu svévolní neobstojí, ani hříšní v shromáždění spravedlivých.  

6  Hospodin zná cestu spravedlivých, ale cesta svévolníků vede do záhuby.

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; (Jb 21,16; Ž 26,4; Ž 107,32; Př 1,10; Př 1,22; Př 3,34; Př 4,14; Př 19,29; Př 21,24; Př 29,8; Iz 28,14; Jr 15,17) 

2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. (Jz 1,8; Ž 112,1; Ž 119,1; Ž 119,35; Ž 119,47; Ž 119,92; Ž 119,97) 

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. (Gn 39,3; Gn 39,23; Nu 24,6; Jb 29,19; Ž 46,4; Ž 128,2; Iz 3,10; Iz 34,4; Jr 17,8; Ez 19,10; Ez 47,12) 

4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. (Jb 21,18) 

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; (Ž 5,5; Ž 76,7; Ez 13,9; Na 1,6; L 21,36; Ef 6,13) 

6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (Ž 31,7; Ž 37,5; Ž 37,18; Ž 144,3; Na 1,7; J 10,14; 2Tm 2,19)
