NEBESA VYPRAVUJÍ O BOŽÍ SLÁVĚ

1 Pro předního zpěváka. Žalm Davidův. 2 Nebesa vypravují o Boží slávě, obloha hovoří o díle jeho rukou. 3 Svoji řeč předává jeden den druhému, noc noci sděluje poznatky. 4 Není to řeč lidská, nejsou to slova, takový hlas od nich nelze slyšet. 5 Jejich tón zvučí celičkou zemí, zní jejich hovor po širém světě. Bůh slunci na nebi postavil stan. 6 Ono jak ženich z komnaty vyjde, vesele jako rek, když běží k cíli. 7 Vychází na jednom okraji nebes, probíhá obloukem k druhému konci a nic se neskryje před jeho žárem. 8 Hospodinův zákon je dokonalý, udržuje při životě. Hospodinovo svědectví je pravdivé, nezkušený jím zmoudří. 9 Hospodinova ustanovení jsou přímá, jsou pro radost srdci. Hospodinovo přikázání je ryzí, dává očím světlo. 10 Hospodinova bázeň je čistá, obstojí navždy. Hospodinovy řády jsou pravda, jsou nejvýš spravedlivé, 11 nad zlato vzácnější, nad množství ryzího zlata, sladší než med, než včelí med z plástve. 12 Jsou poučením i pro tvého služebníka, když na ně dbá, má odměnu hojnou. 13 Kdo může rozpoznat bludy? Zprosť mě i vin, jež jsou mi skryty. 14 Též před opovážlivci chraň svého služebníka, nedopusť, aby mi vládli. Pak budu bez vady a shledán čistý, prost množství nevěrností. 15 Kéž se ti líbí řeč mých úst i to, o čem rozjímám v srdci, Hospodine, má skálo, vykupiteli můj!

1 Přednímu z kantorů, žalm Davidův. 2 Nebesa vypravují slávu Boha silného, a dílo rukou jeho obloha zvěstuje. 3 Den po dni vynáší řeč, a noc po noci ukazuje umění. 4 Neníť řeči ani slov, kdež by nemohl slyšán býti hlas jejich. 5 Po vší zemi rozchází se zpráva jejich, a až do končin okršlku slova jich, slunci pak rozbil stánek na nich. 6 Kteréž jako ženich vychází z pokoje svého, veselí se jako udatný rek, cestou běžeti maje. 7 Od končin nebes východ jeho, a obcházení jeho až zase do končin jejich, a ničeho není, což by se ukryti mohlo před horkostí jeho. 8 Zákon Hospodinův jest dokonalý, očerstvující duši, Hospodinovo svědectví pravé, moudrost dávající neumělým. 9 Rozkazové Hospodinovi přímí, obveselující srdce, přikázaní Hospodinovo čisté, osvěcující oči. 10 Bázeň Hospodinova čistá, zůstávající na věky, soudové Hospodinovi praví, a k tomu i spravedliví. 11 Mnohem žádostivější jsou než zlato, a než mnoho ryzího zlata, sladší než med a stred z plástů. 12 Služebník tvůj zajisté jimi osvěcován bývá, a kdož jich ostříhá, užitek hojný má. 13 Ale poblouzením kdo vyrozumí? Protož i od tajných očisť mne. 14 I od zúmyslných zdržuj služebníka svého, aby nade mnou nepanovali, a tehdyť dokonalý budu, a očištěný od přestoupení velikého. [ (Psalms 19:15) Ó ať jsou slova úst mých tobě příjemná, i přemyšlování srdce mého před tebou, Hospodine skálo má, a vykupiteli můj. ]

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults . 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins ; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

1 Für den Chormeister. Ein Psalm Davids. 2 Die Himmel erzählen die Herrlichkeit Gottes und das Firmament kündet das Werk seiner Hände. (Ž 50,6; Sír 43,1) 3 Ein Tag sagt es dem andern, eine Nacht tut es der andern kund, 4 ohne Rede und ohne Worte, ungehört bleibt ihre Stimme. 5 Doch ihre Botschaft geht in die ganze Welt hinaus, / ihre Kunde bis zu den Enden der Erde. 1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above^[1] proclaims his handiwork. (Ž 50,6; Ř 1,19) 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4 Their voice^[2] goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, (Kaz 1,5; Iz 28,10; Ř 10,18) 5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
