1Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. (箴11:28; 摩6:1; 路6:24; 羅3:16; 提前6:9)2Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. (伯13:28; 赛50:9; 太6:19)3Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. (太6:19; 路12:21; 羅2:5; 雅5:8)4Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. (利19:13; 申24:15; 伯24:10; 羅9:29)5You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. (伯21:13; 耶12:3; 路16:19; 提前5:6; 彼后2:13)6You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you. (徒3:14; 雅4:2)
Patience in Suffering
7Be patient, therefore, brothers,[1] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. (申11:14)8You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. (羅13:11; 腓4:5; 帖前3:13; 來10:25; 來10:37; 彼前4:7)9Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. (太7:1; 太24:33; 可13:29; 林前4:5; 彼前4:5; 启22:12)10As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. (太5:12; 太23:34; 徒7:52; 來11:32)11Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. (出34:6; 伯1:21; 伯2:10; 伯42:10; 伯42:12)12But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. (太5:34)
The Prayer of Faith
13Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. (西3:16)14Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (可6:13; 可16:18)15And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (赛33:24; 太9:2; 可2:5; 路5:20)16Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.[2] (创18:23; 创20:17; 民11:2; 王上13:6; 王上17:22; 王下4:33; 王下19:15; 王下20:2; 伯42:8; 箴15:29; 徒19:18; 來12:13)17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. (王上17:1; 王上18:1; 路4:25; 徒14:15)18Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit. (王上18:42; 王上18:45)19My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, (诗51:13; 但12:3; 玛2:6; 太18:15; 路1:16; 加6:1)20let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. (尼4:5; 诗32:1; 诗85:2; 箴10:12; 羅11:14; 彼前4:8)
