1In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, (路1:3; 路24:19)2until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. (太28:19; 可16:15; 可16:19; 路4:1; 路4:18; 路24:47; 约20:21; 约20:22; 徒10:38; 徒10:42)3He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. (太28:17; 可16:14; 路24:34; 路24:36; 约20:19; 约20:21; 徒10:40; 徒13:31; 林前15:5)4And while staying[1] with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; (路24:49)5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with[2] the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (太3:11; 徒2:1; 徒11:16)
The Ascension
6So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” (弥4:8; 太17:11; 可9:12; 路17:20; 路19:11)7He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. (但2:21; 太24:36; 可13:32; 帖前5:1)8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (赛43:12; 太10:5; 可16:15; 路4:14; 路24:48; 路24:49; 徒1:5; 徒1:22; 徒4:33; 徒8:1; 徒8:14; 徒10:38; 徒13:47; 西1:23; 帖前1:5)9And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. (徒1:2; 帖前4:17)10And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, (书5:13; 但9:21; 但10:5; 但12:6; 亚1:8; 太28:3; 可16:5; 路24:4; 约20:12)11and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (太16:27; 徒2:7; 徒13:31; 腓3:20; 帖前1:10; 帖后1:10)
Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. (路24:50; 路24:52)13And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. (太10:2; 可3:16; 路6:14; 徒9:37; 徒9:39; 徒20:8; 徒21:20)14All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.[3] (太12:46; 路8:2; 徒2:42; 徒2:46; 徒4:24; 徒5:12; 徒6:4; 徒15:25; 羅12:12; 羅15:6; 弗6:18; 西4:2)15In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said, (约21:23)16“Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. (太26:47; 可14:43; 路22:37; 路22:47; 路24:44; 约18:3)17For he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry.” (约6:71; 约13:21; 徒1:25; 徒20:24; 徒21:19; 羅11:13; 林后4:1)18(Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong[4] he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out. (太26:14; 太27:5)19And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) (徒21:40)20“For it is written in the Book of Psalms, “‘May his camp become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it’; and “‘Let another take his office.’ (诗69:25; 诗109:8)21So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, (民27:17; 申31:2; 撒上18:13; 约15:27)22beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us—one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection.” (可1:1; 路24:48; 徒1:2; 徒1:8; 徒1:9; 徒4:33; 徒13:24; 彼前1:3)23And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias. (徒1:26; 徒15:22; 徒18:7; 西4:11)24And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen (撒上16:7; 徒6:6; 徒13:3; 羅8:27)25to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” (徒1:17; 羅1:5; 林前9:2; 加2:8)26And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
