1 耶和華說： 「我休你們母親的休書在哪裡呢？ 我把你們賣給了我哪一個債主呢？ 你們被賣是因為你們的罪惡， 你們母親被休是因為你們的過犯。 2 為什麼我來的時候一個人也不在？ 為什麼我呼喚的時候沒有人回答？ 是我的臂膀太短不能救贖你們嗎？ 是我沒有能力拯救你們嗎？ 看啊，我斥責一聲，海就乾了； 我使江河變為曠野， 魚類因無水而乾死，發出腥臭。 3 我使黑暗遮蔽穹蒼， 用麻布掩蓋天空。」 4 主耶和華賜我教導的能力， 使我知道用什麼話幫助疲乏的人。 每天早晨，主喚醒我， 叫我像受教者那樣側耳聆聽。 5 主耶和華開了我的耳朵， 我沒有悖逆，也沒有退縮。 6 人打我的背，我任他打； 人拔我的鬍子，我任他拔； 人侮辱我，朝我吐唾沬， 我也不掩面。 7 我並不覺得羞愧， 因為主耶和華幫助我。 我心如堅石， 知道自己必不會蒙羞。 8 為我伸張正義的來了， 誰要控告我呢？ 讓我們來理論吧！ 誰是我的控告者呢？ 讓他到我這裡來吧！ 9 看啊，有主耶和華幫助我， 誰能定我有罪呢？ 看啊，他們都要像衣服一樣漸漸破舊， 被蛀蟲吃掉。 10 你們中間誰敬畏耶和華， 聽從祂僕人的話？ 行在黑暗中、 沒有光的人要信靠耶和華的名， 仰賴自己的上帝。 11 然而，你們自己生火、自備火把的人啊， 靠自己點燃的火光行走吧！ 你們必落入悲慘的境地， 這是耶和華親手所定的。

1 Thus says the Lord: “Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce, with which I sent her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away. (申24:1; 王下4:1; 赛59:2; 耶3:8; 何2:2; 太18:25) 2 Why, when I came, was there no man; why, when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst. (出7:18; 出7:21; 出14:21; 民11:23; 书3:16; 诗104:7; 诗106:9; 赛19:5; 赛42:18; 赛59:1; 鸿1:4) 3 I clothe the heavens with blackness and make sackcloth their covering.” (耶14:22; 启6:12) 4 The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. (出4:11; 赛40:1; 太11:28) 5 The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not backward. (诗40:6; 约14:31; 腓2:8; 來5:8; 來10:7) 6 I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting. (赛53:5; 太26:67; 太27:26; 可15:19; 路22:63) 7 But the Lord God helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame. (结3:8) 8 He who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. (羅8:33) 9 Behold, the Lord God helps me; who will declare me guilty? Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment; the moth will eat them up. (赛41:10) 10 Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. (赛42:16; 赛49:2; 赛50:4; 弥7:8) 11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment. (约9:39)
