1 若不是耶和华建造房屋， 建造者的工作都是徒劳。 若不是耶和华保护城池， 守城者保持警觉也是徒然。 2 你早起晚睡， 为生活操劳也是徒然， 唯有耶和华所爱的人才能安眠。 3 儿女是耶和华所赐的礼物， 孩子是祂所给的赏赐。 4 人年轻时生的儿女犹如战士手中的箭。 5 袋中装满了箭的人有福了！ 他们在城门与仇敌争论时， 必不致蒙羞。

1 Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. (诗121:4) 2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. (创3:17; 创3:19; 诗60:5; 可4:26; 可4:27) 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. (创33:5; 申28:4; 诗132:11) 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children[1] of one’s youth. (诗120:4) 5 Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.[2] (伯5:4)
