1Оттуда Ибрахим перебрался в область Негев и поселился между Кадешем и Суром. Он жил пришельцем в Гераре,2и там сказал о своей жене Сарре: «Она моя сестра». Ави-Малик, царь Герара, послал за Саррой и взял её к себе.3Но Всевышний явился к Ави-Малику ночью во сне и сказал ему: – Тебе грозит смерть за женщину, которую ты взял к себе: она замужем.4Но Ави-Малик не прикасался к ней, и поэтому он сказал: – Владыка, неужели Ты уничтожишь невинный народ?5Ведь он мне сказал: «Она моя сестра», и она сказала: «Он мой брат». Но если ты не вернёшь её, знай, что тебе и твоим близким не избежать смерти.8На другой день рано утром Ави-Малик собрал всех своих приближённых и рассказал им, что случилось; и они сильно испугались.9Потом Ави-Малик вызвал Ибрахима и сказал: – Что ты с нами сделал? Какое зло я тебе причинил, что ты навёл такую тяжкую вину на меня и моё царство? Ты поступил со мной так, как нельзя поступать.10И Ави-Малик спросил Ибрахима: – Что было у тебя на уме, когда ты сделал такое?11Ибрахим ответил: – Я подумал: «В этом месте, конечно, не боятся Всевышнего, и они убьют меня за мою жену».12Кроме того, она действительно моя сестра – дочь моего отца, хотя и не от моей матери; и она стала моей женой.13Когда Всевышний отправил меня странствовать из дома моего отца, я сказал ей: «Окажи мне такую услугу: куда бы мы ни пришли, говори обо мне, что я твой брат».14Тогда Ави-Малик привёл мелкий и крупный скот, рабов и рабынь и дал их Ибрахиму; и вернул ему его жену Сарру.15Ави-Малик сказал: – Моя земля перед тобой: живи, где хочешь.16Сарре он сказал: – Я даю твоему брату двенадцать килограммов[1] серебра, чтобы покрыть твою обиду в глазах всего твоего дома; честь твоя восстановлена.17Ибрахим помолился Всевышнему, и Всевышний исцелил Ави-Малика, и его жену, и рабынь, чтобы они снова могли иметь детей,18потому что Вечный сделал бесплодными всех женщин в доме Ави-Малика из-за жены Ибрахима Сарры.
1Abraham partió desde allí en dirección a la región del Néguev, y se quedó a vivir entre Cades y Sur. Mientras vivía en Guerar,2Abraham decía que Sara, su esposa, era su hermana. Entonces Abimélec, rey de Guerar, mandó llamar a Sara y la tomó por esposa.3Pero aquella noche Dios se le apareció a Abimélec en sueños y le dijo: ―Puedes darte por muerto a causa de la mujer que has tomado, porque ella es casada.4Pero, como Abimélec todavía no se había acostado con ella, le contestó: ―Señor, ¿acaso vas a matar al inocente?[1]5Como Abraham me dijo que ella era su hermana, y ella me lo confirmó, yo hice todo esto de buena fe y sin mala intención.6―Sí, ya sé que has hecho todo esto de buena fe —le respondió Dios en el sueño—; por eso no te permití tocarla, para que no pecaras contra mí.7Pero ahora devuelve esa mujer a su esposo, porque él es profeta y va a interceder por ti para que vivas. Si no lo haces, ten por seguro que morirás junto con todos los tuyos.8En la madrugada del día siguiente, Abimélec se levantó y llamó a todos sus servidores para contarles en detalle lo que había ocurrido, y un gran temor se apoderó de ellos.9Entonces Abimélec llamó a Abraham y le dijo: ―¡Qué nos has hecho! ¿En qué te he ofendido, que has traído un pecado tan grande sobre mí y sobre mi reino? ¡Lo que me has hecho no tiene nombre!10¿Qué pretendías conseguir con todo esto? A la pregunta de Abimélec,11Abraham contestó: ―Yo pensé que en este lugar no había temor de Dios, y que por causa de mi esposa me matarían.12Pero en realidad ella es mi hermana, porque es hija de mi padre, aunque no de mi madre; y además es mi esposa.13Cuando Dios me mandó dejar la casa de mi padre y andar errante, yo le dije a mi esposa: “Te pido que me hagas este favor: Dondequiera que vayamos, di siempre que soy tu hermano”.14Abimélec tomó entonces ovejas y vacas, esclavos y esclavas, y se los regaló a Abraham. And the men were very much afraid.9Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, “What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”10And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you did this thing?”11Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ (Быт 12:12; Быт 26:7; Прит 16:6)12Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father though not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife.
