Las mujeres de Moab

1 Enviad el cordero al soberano de la tierra, Desde Petra, por el desierto, Al Monte de la hija de Sión. 2 Cual ave espantada que huye del nido, Irán las hijas de Moab en los vados de Arnón. 3 ¡Dad consejo, haced lo justo! Haz que tu sombra sea grata como la noche en el ardor del mediodía: ¡Esconde los desterrados, Y no descubras al fugitivo! 4 Moren contigo mis fugitivos de Moab. Sé para ellos refugio ante el destructor hasta que cese el opresor, Hasta que acabe el devastador Y el agresor desaparezca de la tierra. 5 En el tabernáculo de David será establecido un trono fundado en la misericordia y la verdad. En él se sentará un Juez celoso del derecho, solícito de la justicia. 6 Hemos oído del orgullo de Moab, Su gran orgullo, su soberbia, su arrogancia y su insolencia; Pero es vana su jactancia, 7 Porque Moab gemirá por Moab, Toda ella se lamentará por las tortas de pasas de Kir-hareset. Sí, gemiréis enteramente desconsolados. 8 Los campos de Hesbón se marchitarán como las vides de Sibma. Los jefes de las naciones pisotearán sus mejores vides, Cuyos sarmientos llegaban hasta Jazer y se desviaban al desierto, Cuyos vástagos se extendían y cruzaban las aguas. 9 Por eso lloro con el lloro de Jazer por la viña de Sibma. Te regaré con mis lágrimas Hesbón, y también a ti, Eleale, Porque sobre tus cosechas y tus siegas caerán clamores de guerra. 10 Se retirará del campo el gozo y la alegría; No cantarán jubilosos en las viñas, ni pisarán el vino en el lagar, Porque habré hecho cesar los cánticos. 11 Por eso mis entrañas vibran como un arpa por Moab, Y mi pecho por Kir-hareset. 12 Y cuando Moab se muestre cansado sobre los lugares altos, Cuando entre a orar en su santuario, de nada le servirá. 13 Ésta es la palabra que YHVH habló antes acerca de Moab. 14 Pero ahora YHVH habla, diciendo: Dentro de tres años, años de jornalero, la gloria de Moab será abatida con toda su gran multitud, Y los que queden serán pocos, escasos, y sin ningún valor.

1 Send the lamb to the ruler of the land, from Sela, by way of the desert, to the mount of the daughter of Zion. (2 R 3:4; 2 R 14:7; Is 42:11) 2 Like fleeing birds, like a scattered nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon. (Jue 11:18) 3 “Give counsel; grant justice; make your shade like night at the height of noon; shelter the outcasts; do not reveal the fugitive; (1 R 18:4) 4 let the outcasts of Moab sojourn among you; be a shelter to them^[1] from the destroyer. When the oppressor is no more, and destruction has ceased, and he who tramples underfoot has vanished from the land, (1 S 22:3) 5 then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.” (Is 32:1; Dn 7:14; Dn 7:27; Miq 4:7; Lc 1:33)

8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have struck down its branches, which reached to Jazer and strayed to the desert; its shoots spread abroad and passed over the sea. (Jer 48:32) 9 Therefore I weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah; I drench you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; for over your summer fruit and your harvest the shout has ceased. 11 Therefore my inner parts moan like a lyre for Moab, and my inmost self for Kir-hareseth. (Is 15:5; Jer 48:36) 12 And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail. 13 This is the word that the Lord spoke concerning Moab in the past. (Am 2:1) 14 But now the Lord has spoken, saying, “In three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, in spite of all his great multitude, and those who remain will be very few and feeble.” (Is 10:22; Is 21:16)
