1-2 Från djupet av mitt hjärta ropar jag förtvivlad till dig om hjälp: "Hör mig! Svara mig och hjälp mig!" 3 Om du utan barmhärtighet kommer ihåg våra synder, vem kan då bestå? 4 Men du förlåter oss för att vi ska ära och lyda dig. 5 Jag sätter mitt hopp till Herren, och av hela hjärtat väntar jag på att han ska tala till mig. 6 Jag längtar efter Herren mer än vaktposten längtar efter att det äntligen ska bli morgon. 7 Israel, hoppas på Herren! Bara han är kärleksfull och god och beredd att förlåta synder. 8 Han ska själv befria Israel från all dess synd.

(2 Krön 6:40; Ps 86:6; Ps 140:6) 3 If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? (Ps 76:7; Ps 90:8; Ps 143:2; Am 2:15; Nah 1:6; Mal 3:2; Ef 6:13; Upp 6:17) 4 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.
