1 Halleluja! Min sjæl, pris Herren! 2 Jeg vil lovprise Herren, så længe jeg lever, synge til hans ære, så længe jeg trækker vejret. 3 Stol ikke på stormænd, for mennesker kan ikke frelse jer. 4 De dør og bliver lagt i deres grav, da er det slut med alle deres planer. 5 Velsignede er de, der stoler på Israels Gud, de, der sætter deres lid til Herren. 6 Han skabte himlen og jorden, havet og alt, hvad der lever deri. Han er trofast til evig tid. 7 Han står på de undertryktes side og sørger for mad til de sultne. Han sætter fanger i frihed 8 og åbner de blindes øjne. Han løfter de nedbrudte op, han elsker dem, der gør hans vilje. 9 Han tager sig af de fremmede, viser omsorg for enker og forældreløse, men de ondes planer forpurrer han. 10 Herren skal regere for evigt! Jerusalem, din Gud er konge fra slægt til slægt! Halleluja!

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! (Salm 135,1) 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. (Salm 63,4; Salm 104,33; Salm 145,2) 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. (Salm 60,11; Salm 108,12; Salm 118,8; Salm 118,9; Es 2,22; Jer 17,5) 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. (Job 10,9; Job 34,14; Salm 104,29; Præd 12,7) 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, (Salm 2,12; Salm 119,116; Salm 144,15) 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; (Salm 100,5; Salm 115,15; Salm 117,2) 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
