1 Přičině k ústům svým troubu, rci: Aj, letí jako orlice na dům Hospodinův, proto že přestoupili smlouvu mou, a proti zákonu mému převráceně činili. 2 Budouť sic volati: Bože můj, znáť tebe Izrael, 3 Ale opustilť jest Izrael dobré, nepřítel jej stihati bude. 4 Oniť ustanovují krále, ale beze mne; knížata vyzdvihují, k nimž já se neznám; z stříbra i z zlata svého činí sobě modly k svému zkažení. 5 Opustíť je tele tvé, ó Samaří, když se zažhne prchlivost má na ně. Až dokudž nebudou moci ostříhati nevinnosti? 6 Však i ono jest od Izraele, řemeslník je udělal, a neníť Bohem; nebo drtiny budou z toho telete Samařského. 7 Poněvadž větru rozsívají, takéť vichřici žíti budou; ani stébla žádného míti nebudou; úroda nevydá mouky, a by pak i vydala, cizozemci to sehltí. 8 Sehlcen bude Izrael, tudíž budou mezi pohany jako nádoba, v níž není žádné líbosti. 9 Proto že se oni utíkají k Assurovi, oslu divokému, kterýž jest toliko sám svůj, a že Efraim sobě najímá milovníky, 10 A že posílali dary mezi pohany: protož tudíž je zberu i já, anobrž jižť jsou okusili něčeho pro břímě krále knížat. 11 Nebo vzdělal Efraim mnoho oltářů k hřešení, máť oltáře k hřešení. 12 Vypsal jsem jemu znamenité věci v zákoně svém, ale neváží sobě rovně jako cizí věci. 13 Z obětí darů mých obětují maso a jedí, Hospodin neoblibuje jich. Jižť zpomene na nepravost jejich, a vyhledávati bude hříchy jejich, že se oni do Egypta navracují, 14 A že se zapomenul Izrael na Učinitele svého, a nastavěl chrámů, a Juda vzdělal mnoho měst hrazených. Protož pošli oheň na města jeho, a zžíře paláce jeho.

1 Polnici k ústům! Jak orel na dům Hospodinův! Přestoupili moji smlouvu, proti mému zákonu se vzepřeli. 2 Budou ke mně úpět: “Bože můj, my synové Izraele se k tobě známe.“ 3 Izrael zanevřel na to, co je dobré, bude jej honit nepřítel. 4 Krále si ustanovili, ale beze mne, dosadili velmože, ale já se k nim neznám. Ze svého stříbra a zlata si udělali modlářské stvůry ke své vlastní zkáze. 5 Tvůj býček na tebe, Samaří, zanevřel. Můj hněv proti nim plane! Jak dlouho ještě? Bez trestu nezůstanou. 6 Neboť ten býček je z Izraele, udělal jej řemeslník, není to Bůh. Ze samařského býčka zbudou jen třísky. 7 Zaseli vítr, sklidí bouři. Nevyroste jim ani stéblo, co vzklíčí, nevydá žádnou mouku; kdyby snad i něco vydalo, pohltí to cizáci. 8 Izrael bude pohlcen. Hle, budou mezi pronárody jako bezcenná nádoba. 9 Vystupovali k Ašúrovi, k osamělému divokému oslu; Efrajim kupčí láskou. 10 Ale i kdyby kupčili se všemi pronárody, přece je seženu dohromady a brzo začnou pociťovat břemeno krále velmožů. 11 Efrajim postavil mnoho oltářů, aby hřešil; má tedy oltáře a hřeší. 12 Kdybych mu napsal ze svého zákona sebevíc, bude to pokládáno za něco cizího. 13 Když mi obětují dary, obětují maso, aby se najedli. Hospodin v nich nemá zalíbení. Však si připomene jejich nepravost a ztrestá je za jejich hříchy. Půjdou zpátky do Egypta. 14 Izrael zapomněl na svého Učinitele a nastavěl chrámků, Juda postavil mnoho opevněných měst. Ale já pošlu na jeho města oheň a ten pozře jejich paláce.

Zaseli vítr, sklidí vichřici

1 Polnici na rty! Na dům Hospodinův letí orli! Smlouvu se mnou totiž zrušili, mému Zákonu se vzepřeli. 2 Ano, volají: „Bože náš, Izrael tě zná!“ 3 Izrael ale dobro opustil, a tak jej bude stíhat protivník. 4 Dosazují si krále, ale beze mě; bez mého vědomí si volí velmože; vyrábějí si modly stříbrné a zlaté k vlastní záhubě. 5 Zavrhni to své tele, Samaří! Vzplanul jsem hněvem proti nim. Jak dlouho ještě budou beztrestní? 6 To tele z Izraele pochází, řemeslník je vyrobil. To že je Bůh? Nikoli! Rozbito bude na třísky to tele v Samaří! 7 Protože vítr zasévali, sklidí vichřici. Klasy zůstanou bez zrní, budou bez úrody, bez mouky. Pokud se něco urodí, spolykají to cizáci. 8 Izrael bude pohlcen – mezi pohany teď zůstane jako nepotřebný odpadek. 9 Chodili totiž do Asýrie jako divoký osamělý osel – Efraim kupoval si milence! 10 Prodávali se mezi pohany, já je teď ale shromáždím, aby už brzy cítit začali břemeno krále nad velmoži. 11 Efraim má tolik oltářů k oběti za hřích – z těch se mu ale staly oltáře k hřešení! 12 Ve svém Zákoně jsem jim toho napsal tolik – jim je to ale cizí, jako by nerozuměli! 13 Když mi přinášejí své oběti, obětují maso, aby se najedli – Hospodinu se to nelíbí! Teď si připomene jejich provinění a jejich hříchy potrestá: Půjdou zpátky do Egypta!^[1] 14 Izrael zapomněl na svého Tvůrce a nastavěl si paláce; Juda opevnil spoustu měst. Já ale sešlu na jejich města oheň – ten jim ty tvrze sežehne!

Israel Will Reap the Whirlwind

1 Set the trumpet to your lips! One like a vulture is over the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant and rebelled against my law. (Dt 28,49; Oz 5,8; Oz 6,7) 2 To me they cry, “My God, we—Israel—know you.” (Mt 7,21) 3 Israel has spurned the good; the enemy shall pursue him. 4 They made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but I knew it not. With their silver and gold they made idols for their own destruction. (1Kr 12,20; 2Pa 13,5; Oz 7,7) 5 I have^[1] spurned your calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence? (1Kr 12,28; Jr 13,27; Oz 10,5) 6 For it is from Israel; a craftsman made it; it is not God.
