1Izrael jest vinný kmen prázdný, ovoce skládá sobě. Čím více mívá ovoce svého, tím více rozmnožuje oltáře, a čím lepší jest země jeho, tím více vzdělává obrazy.2Klade díly srdce jejich, pročež vinni jsou. Onť poboří oltáře jejich, popléní obrazy jejich,3Poněvadž i říkají: Nemáme žádného krále, nýbrž aniž se bojíme Hospodina, a král co by nám učinil?4Mluví slova, klnouce se lživě, když činí smlouvu, a soud podobný jedu roste na záhonech polí mých.5Z příčiny jalovic Betavenských děsiti se budou obyvatelé Samařští, když kvíliti bude nad nimi lid jejich i kněží jejich, (kteříž příčinou jejich nyní pléší), proto že sláva jejich zastěhuje se od nich.6Ano i sám lid do Assyrie zaveden bude v dar králi, kterýž obhájce býti měl; Efraim hanbu ponese, a Izrael styděti se bude za své předsevzetí.7Vyhlazen bude král Samařský jako pěna na svrchku vody.8Vypléněny budou také výsosti Avenu, hřích Izraelských, trní a hloží zroste na oltářích jejich. I dějí horám: Přikrejte nás, a pahrbkům: Padněte na nás.9Ode dnů Gabaa hřešil jsi, Izraeli. Tamť jsou ostáli, nepostihla jich v Gabaa válka proti nešlechetným.10A protož podlé líbosti své svíži je; nebo sberou se na ně národové k svázání jich, pro dvojí nepravost jejich.11Nebo Efraim jest jalovička, kteráž byla vyučována; mlatbu miluje, ačkoli jsem já nastupoval na tučný krk její, abych k jízdě užíval Efraima, Juda aby oral, a Jákob vláčil. A říkal jsem:12Rozsívejte sobě k spravedlnosti, žněte k milosrdenství, ořte sobě ouhor, poněvadž čas jest k hledání Hospodina, ažby přišel a dštil vám spravedlností.13Ale orali jste bezbožnost, žali jste nepravost, jedli jste ovoce lži; nebo doufáš v cestu svou a ve množství reků svých.14Protož povstane rozbroj mezi lidem tvým, i každá pevnost tvá zpuštěna bude, tak jako zpustil Salman Bet Arbel v den boje; matky s syny rozrážíny budou.15Aj, toť vám způsobí Bethel pro přílišnou nešlechetnost vaši; na svitání docela vyhlazen bude král Izraelský.

1 Izrael je rozbujelá réva, plody jen pro sebe nasazuje. Čím více má plodů, tím více oltářů staví, čím je jeho země lepší, tím lépe zdobí posvátné sloupy. 2 Jejich srdce je plné úlisnosti, budou však za vinu pykat. On jejich oltáře strhne, zničí jejich posvátné sloupy. 3 Teď říkají: „Nemáme krále. Nebojíme se Hospodina, a král – co by nám mohl udělat?“ 4 Zaklínají se falešnými slovy, když uzavírají smlouvu; jejich soud bují jako jedovaté býlí na zoraném poli. 5 Obyvatelé Samaří se budou třást strachem o bétávenské jalovice; jeho lid bude truchlit nad býčkem. Ať si jeho žreci jásají nad jeho slávou, ta se od něho odstěhuje. 6 I jeho socha bude odnesena do Asýrie jako obětní dar velkokráli. Efrajim sklidí ostudu, Izrael bude zahanben pro své rozhodnutí. 7 Zajde Samaří i jeho král, bude jako pěna na vodách. 8 Zpleněna budou posvátná návrší Ávenu, hřích Izraele. Na jejich oltářích vyroste trní a hloží. Tu řeknou horám: “Přikryjte nás!“ a pahorkům: „Padněte na nás!“

9 Ode dnů Gibeje jsi hřešil, Izraeli. Tam obstáli, nezasáhla je gibejská válka proti pachatelům bezpráví. 10 Budu je trestat, jak sám budu chtít, národy se proti nim shromáždí, aby je spoutaly pro jejich dvojí nepravost. 11 Efrajim je jalovice jhu přivyklá, bývá ráda při výmlatu. Přistoupil jsem k její pěkné šíji: Efrajima zapřáhnu, Juda bude orat, Jákob bude vláčet. 12 Rozsívejte si pro spravedlnost, sklízejte pro milosrdenství, zorejte svůj úhor. Je čas dotázat se Hospodina. Až přijde, svlaží vás spravedlností. 13 Orali jste svévoli, sklízeli bezpráví, jedli jste ovoce přetvářky. Doufal jsi v svou cestu, v množství svých bohatýrů. 14 V tvém lidu nastane rozbroj, všechny tvé pevnosti budou vypleněny, jako když Šalman vyplenil Bét-arbél, v den boje byla rozdrcena matka nad syny. 15 Právě tak naloží s vámi Bét-el pro vaše strašné zlořády. Za úsvitu bude izraelský král nadobro umlčen.

Čím lepší byla jeho zem, tím líp si zdobil sloupy posvátné.2Jejich srdce je úlisné, teď už je ale stihne trest: Hospodin zboří jejich oltáře, jejich posvátné sloupy roztluče!3„Nemáme krále,“ řeknou tehdy, „neboť jsme Hospodina nectili. I kdybychom však krále měli, jak by nám mohl pomoci?“4Vedou své řeči, uzavírají smlouvy lživými sliby a jejich spory bují jako pelyněk na poli zoraném.5Strachovat se budou samařští obyvatelé o to bet-avenské veletele.[1] Jeho lid nad ním bude lkát, jeho kněží budou naříkat, že je ta jeho sláva opustila.6I samo tele odnesou do Asýrie jako dar pro jejich velkokrále. Efraim tehdy bude zahanben, vlastní plány zklamou Izrael!7Zanikne Samaří i jeho král tak jako pěna na vodách.8Zničena budou avenská návrší – ten izraelský hřích – a na jejich oltářích vzroste trní a bodláčí. Tehdy řeknou horám: „Skryjte nás,“ a pahorkům: „Padněte na nás!“9Hřešíš, Izraeli, už od gibejských dní, tam jsi se tehdy zastavil. Copak je nepostihl tehdy v Gibeji boj proti pachatelům bezpráví?10Potrestám je, kdy budu chtít: Národy se spojí proti nim, aby je spoutaly za jejich dvojí hřích.11Efraim býval povolná jalovička, která obilí ráda mlátila. Teď ale její krásnou šíji zapřáhnu a Efraima poženu: Juda bude orat a Jákob vláčet.12Spravedlnost sejte a lásku sklízejte; zorejte ladem ležící zem![2] Čas hledat Hospodina je přece zde, ať přijde a spravedlností vás zalije.13Vy jste však pěstovali podlost a sklízeli jste zlo, živili jste se přetvářkou! Protožes spoléhal na vlastní cestu a na množství svých hrdinů,14vypukne proti tvému lidu válka, každá tvá pevnost bude zbořena. Jako když Šalman v boji zbořil Bet-arbel, když matky s dětmi ubíjel,15právě tak v Bet-elu dopadnete – vaše zločiny jsou tak zlé! Za svítání, než začne den, král Izraele bude zahuben.

Die bevorstehende Niederlage
9Seit den Tagen von Gibea hast du gesündigt, Israel. / Sie sind seither nicht anders geworden.
Wird sie nicht wie in Gibea / der Krieg gegen die Kinder des Verbrechens einholen? (Oz 9,9)10Ich bin entschlossen, sie zu züchtigen. / Und Völker werden sich gegen sie versammeln, / denn sie sind verstrickt in ihre doppelte Schuld.11Efraim war ein gelehriges Rind, / willig zum Dreschen.
Als ich vorbeikam an seinem kräftigen Nacken, / spannte ich Efraim ein: Juda sollte pflügen; / Jakob für sich eggen: (Oz 4,16)12Sät für euch in Gerechtigkeit, / erntet in Liebe!
Nehmt Neuland unter den Pflug! / Es ist Zeit, den HERRN zu suchen;
