1 Měli pak synové Ruben a synové Gád dobytka velmi mnoho, a uzřeli zemi Jazer a zemi Galád, ano místo to místo příhodné pro dobytek. 2 Protož přistoupivše synové Gád a synové Ruben, mluvili k Mojžíšovi a k Eleazarovi knězi a knížatům shromáždění, řkouce: 3 Atarot a Dibon, a Jazer a Nemra, Ezebon a Eleale, a Saban a Nébo a Beon, 4 Země, kterouž zbil Hospodin před shromážděním Izraelským, jest země příhodná ku pastvě dobytku, a my služebníci tvoji máme drahně dobytka. 5 (Protož řekli:) Jestliže jsme nalezli milost před očima tvýma, nechť jest dána krajina ta služebníkům tvým k vládařství, ať nechodíme za Jordán. 6 I odpověděl Mojžíš synům Gád a synům Ruben: Což bratří vaši půjdou sami k boji, a vy zde zůstanete? 7 I proč roztrhujete mysli synů Izraelských, aby nesměli jíti do země, kterouž jim dal Hospodin? 8 Takť jsou učinili otcové vaši, když jsem je poslal z Kádesbarne, aby prohlédli zemi tu. 9 Kteřížto, když přišli až k údolí Eškol a shlédli zemi, potom vrátivše se, odvrátili mysl synů Izraelských, aby nešli do země, kterouž dal jim Hospodin. 10 Čímž popuzen jsa k hněvu Hospodin v den ten, přisáhl, řka: 11 Zajisté že lidé ti, kteříž vyšli z Egypta, od dvadcítiletých a výše, neuzří země té, kterouž jsem s přísahou zaslíbil Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi, nebo ne cele následovali mne, 12 Kromě Kálefa, syna Jefonova Cenezejského, a Jozue, syna Nun, nebo cele následovali Hospodina. 13 I popudila se prchlivost Hospodinova na Izraele, a učinil, aby byli tuláci na poušti za čtyřidceti let, dokudž nezahynul všecken ten věk, kterýž činil zlé před očima Hospodinovýma. 14 A hle, vy nastoupili jste na místo otců svých, plémě lidí hříšných, abyste vždy přidávali k hněvu prchlivosti Hospodinovy na Izraele. 15 Jestliže se odvrátíte od následování jeho, i onť také opustí jej na poušti této, a tak budete příčina zahynutí všeho lidu tohoto. 16 Přistoupivše pak znovu, řekli jemu: Stáje dobytkům a stádům svým zde vzděláme, a města dítkám svým, 17 Sami pak v odění pohotově budeme, statečně sobě počínajíce před syny Izraelskými, dokavadž jich neuvedeme na místo jejich; mezi tím zůstanou dítky naše v městech hrazených, pro bezpečnost před obyvateli země. 18 Nenavrátíme se do domů svých, až prvé vládnouti budou synové Izraelští jeden každý dědictvím svým; 19 Aniž vezmeme jakého dědictví s nimi za Jordánem neb dále, když dosáhneme dědictví svého z této strany Jordánu, k východu slunce. 20 I odpověděl jim Mojžíš: Jestliže učiníte tak, jakž jste mluvili, a jestliže půjdete v odění před Hospodinem k boji, 21 A šli byste za Jordán vy všickni v odění před Hospodinem, dokavadž by nevyhnal nepřátel svých od tváři své, 22 A nebyla podmaněna všecka země před Hospodinem: potom navrátíte se, a budete bez viny před Hospodinem i před Izraelem; tak přijde země tato vám v dědictví před Hospodinem. 23 Pakli neučiníte toho, hle, zhřešíte proti Hospodinu, a vězte, že pomsta vaše přijde na vás. 24 Stavějte sobě tedy města pro dítky, a stáje pro dobytky své, a což vyšlo z úst vašich, učiňte. 25 I odpovědělo pokolení synů Gád a synů Ruben Mojžíšovi, řka: Služebníci tvoji učiní, jakž pán náš rozkazuje. 26 Dítky naše a ženy naše, dobytek náš a všecka hovada naše, tu zůstanou v městech Galád, 27 Služebníci pak tvoji přejdou jeden každý v odění způsobný před Hospodinem k boji, jakož mluví pán můj. 28 I poručil o nich Mojžíš Eleazarovi knězi a Jozue, synu Nun, a předním v čeledech pokolení synů Izraelských, 29 A řekl jim: Jestliže přejdou synové Gád a synové Ruben s vámi za Jordán všickni hotovi k boji před Hospodinem, a byla by již podmaněna země před vámi, dáte jim zemi Galád k vládařství. 30 Pakli by nešli v odění s vámi, tedy dědictví míti budou u prostřed vás v zemi Kanán. 31 I odpověděli synové Gád a synové Ruben, řkouce: Jakž mluvil Hospodin služebníkům tvým, tak učiníme: 32 My půjdeme v odění před Hospodinem do země Kanán, a zůstane nám v dědictví vládařství naše z této strany Jordánu. 33 Tedy dal jim Mojžíš, synům totiž Gád a synům Ruben a polovici pokolení Manasses, syna Jozefova, království Seona, krále Amorejského, a království Oga, krále Bázanského, zemi s městy jejími při pomezích, i města země té všudy vůkol. 34 A vzdělali synové Gád, Dibon, Atarot a Aroer, 35 A Atrot, Sofan, Jazer a Jegbaa, 36 A Betnemra a Betaran, města hrazená, a stáje pro dobytky. 37 Synové pak Ruben vystavěli Ezebon, Eleale a Kariataim, 38 A Nébo a Balmeon, změnivše jim jména; také Sabma, a dali jiná jména městům, kteráž vzdělali. 39 Táhli pak synové Machir, syna Manassesova, do Galád, a vzavše tu krajinku, vyhnali Amorejského, kterýž tam bydlil. 40 I dal Mojžíš zemi Galád Machirovi, synu Manassesovu, a bydlil v ní. 41 Jair také syn Manassesův táhl a vzal vsi jejich, a nazval je vsi Jairovy. 42 Nobe také táhl, a vzal Kanat a městečka jeho, a nazval je Nobe od jména svého.

— Přidělení zajordánské oblasti - Gádovcům, Rúbenovcům a polovině pokolení Manasesovců připadne požadované dědictví před Jordánem, ale jen tehdy, pomohou-li ostatním v boji o Kenaan.

1 Rúbenovci a Gádovci měli převeliké množství stád. Když spatřili jaezerskou a gileádskou zemi, shledali, že to je vhodné místo pro stáda. 2 Gádovci a Rúbenovci tedy přišli a řekli Mojžíšovi, knězi Eleazarovi a předákům pospolitosti: 3 „Atarót, Dibón, Jaezer, Nimra, Chešbón, Eleále, Sebám, Nebó a Beón, 4 země, kterou Hospodin před izraelskou pospolitostí porazil, je zemí vhodnou pro stáda. A tvoji služebníci mají stáda.“ 5 A dodali: „Jestliže jsme u tebe nalezli přízeň, nechť je tvým služebníkům přidělena do vlastnictví tato země. Nevoď nás přes Jordán.“ 6 Mojžíš Gádovcům a Rúbenovcům vytkl: „Což vaši bratří půjdou do boje a vy si zůstanete tady? 7 Proč berete Izraelcům odvahu přejít do země, kterou jim dal Hospodin? 8 Zrovna tak se zachovali vaši otcové, když jsem je poslal z Kádeš-barneje, aby zhlédli zemi. 9 Došli až do úvalu Eškólu a zhlédli zemi, ale Izraelcům vzali odvahu, takže nechtěli vejít do země, kterou jim dal Hospodin. 10 Onoho dne vzplanul Hospodin hněvem a zapřisáhl se: 11 Muži ve věku od dvaceti let výše, kteří vyšli z Egypta, neuvidí zemi, kterou jsem přísežně zaslíbil Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi, protože se mi cele neoddali, 12 kromě Kenazejce Káleba, syna Jefunova, a Jozua, syna Núnova; ti se totiž cele oddali Hospodinu. 13 Tehdy vzplanul Hospodin proti Izraeli hněvem a čtyřicet let jim dal bloudit po poušti, dokud nezaniklo celé to pokolení, které se dopouštělo toho, co je zlé v Hospodinových očích. 14 A teď jste nastoupili vy na místo svých otců, zplozenci hříšných lidí, abyste ještě stupňovali Hospodinův hněv planoucí proti Izraeli. 15 Když se od něho odvrátíte, nechá Izraele na poušti ještě déle. Tak uvedete na všechen tento lid zkázu.“ 16 Přistoupili k němu a prohlásili: „Vystavíme zde ohrady pro svá stáda a města pro své děti. 17 My však potáhneme ve zbroji v čele Izraelců, dokud je neuvedeme na jejich místo. Naše děti zatím zůstanou v městech opevněných proti obyvatelům této země. 18 Nenavrátíme se do svých domovů, dokud se všichni Izraelci neujmou svého dědictví. 19 Nebudeme požadovat dědictví s nimi tam někde za Jordánem, když nám připadne dědictví na této straně Jordánu k východu.“ 20 Mojžíš jim odpověděl: „Jestliže dodržíte toto slovo, vyzbrojíte se před Hospodinem do boje 21 a všichni ve zbroji přejdete před Hospodinem Jordán, potom až on vyžene své nepřátele 22 a země bude před Hospodinem podmaněna, vrátíte se a budete bez viny u Hospodina i u Izraele. Pak bude tato země vaším vlastnictvím před Hospodinem. 23 Nezachováte-li se však takto, prohřešíte se proti Hospodinu. Vězte, že se vám váš hřích vymstí. 24 Vystavějte si města pro své děti a ohrady pro své ovce a dodržte, co jste slíbili.“ 25 Gádovci a Rúbenovci Mojžíšovi odpověděli: „Tvoji služebníci učiní, jak náš pán přikazuje. 26 Naše děti, ženy, stáda a všechen dobytek budou zde v gileádských městech. 27 Ale tvoji služebníci přejdou Jordán, všichni vojensky vyzbrojeni před Hospodinem, aby bojovali, jak praví náš pán.“ 28 I vydal Mojžíš o nich rozkaz knězi Eleazarovi a Jozuovi, synu Núnovu, i představitelům otcovských rodů pokolení Izraelců. 29 Řekl jim: „Překročí-li Gádovci a Rúbenovci s vámi Jordán, všichni ve zbroji, aby bojovali před Hospodinem, a země bude před vámi podmaněna, dáte jim do vlastnictví zemi gileádskou. 30 Nepřekročí-li jej však s vámi ve zbroji, ať mají vlastnictví mezi vámi v zemi kenaanské.“ 31 Gádovci a Rúbenovci odpověděli: „Učiníme, jak promluvil k tvým služebníkům Hospodin. 32 Ano, přejdeme ve zbroji před Hospodinem do země kenaanské, aby nám zůstalo ve vlastnictví naše dědictví v Zajordání.“ 33 Mojžíš jim tedy dal, totiž Gádovcům, Rúbenovcům a polovině kmene Manasesa, syna Josefova, království emorejského krále Síchona a království bášanského krále Óga, celou tu zemi, její města s přilehlým územím, všechna města té země kolem. 34 Gádovci pak znovu vystavěli Dibón, Atarót a Aróer, 35 Atarót-šófan, Jaezer a Jogbehu, 36 Bét-nimru a Bét-háran, opevněná města a ohrady pro ovce. 37 Rúbenovci znovu vystavěli Chešbón, Eleále a Kirjatajim, 38 Nébo a Baal-meón, jimž změnili jména, a Sibmu; městům, jež vystavěli, dali jména. 39 Synové Makíra, syna Manasesova, táhli do Gileádu a dobyli jej. Podrobili si Emorejce, kteří v něm sídlili. 40 Mojžíš dal Gileád Makírovi, synu Manasesovu, a ten se tam usadil. 41 Zatím Jaír, syn Manasesův, dobyl na svém tažení jejich vesnice a nazval je vesnicemi Jaírovými. 42 A Nóbach dobyl na svém tažení Kenat i jeho osady a nazval je svým jménem Nóbach.

Nevoď nás přes Jordán.“ 6 Mojžíš Rubenovým a Gádovým synům odpověděl: „Mají snad vaši bratři jít do boje, zatímco vy zůstanete zde? 7 Proč chcete syny Izraele odradit od vstupu do země, kterou jim Hospodin dal? 8 Totéž udělali vaši otcové, když jsem je vyslal z Kádeš-barné, aby prohlédli zem.^[1] 9 Došli až k údolí Eškol, prohlédli zem, ale pak syny Izraele odradili od vstupu do země, kterou jim Hospodin dal. 10 Hospodin toho dne vzplanul hněvem a odpřisáhl: 11 ‚Nikdo z těch, kdo vyšli z Egypta, nikdo starší dvaceti let nespatří zem, kterou jsem s přísahou zaslíbil Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi, neboť se mi nevydali cele. 12 Jen Káleb, syn Jefunův, a Jozue, syn Nunův, se cele vydali Hospodinu.‘^[2] 13 Hospodin tehdy vzplanul proti Izraeli hněvem a nechal je čtyřicet let bloudit po poušti, dokud to pokolení, které se znelíbilo Hospodinu, do posledního nevymřelo. 14 Hle, nyní jste nastoupili na místo svých otců, vy plemeno hříšníků, abyste ještě více roznítili Hospodinův planoucí hněv proti Izraeli! 15 Jestliže se od něj odvrátíte, nechá tento lid na poušti ještě déle, a tak je všechny přivedete do záhuby!“ 16 Přistoupili tedy k Mojžíšovi blíž a řekli: „Chceme tu postavit ohrady pro svůj dobytek a města pro své děti. 17 Sami pak půjdeme v plné zbroji v čele synů Izraele, dokud je nepřivedeme na jejich místo. Naše děti zatím zůstanou v opevněných městech, chráněny před obyvateli země. 18 My se ale domů nevrátíme, dokud se každý syn Izraele neujme svého dědictví. 19 Nebudeme s nimi zabírat zem za Jordánem ani nikde dále, neboť nám připadlo dědictví na východ od Jordánu.“ 20 Mojžíš jim odpověděl: „Chcete-li to slovo splnit, připravte se před Hospodinem k boji. 21 Každý z vašich ozbrojenců půjde před Hospodinem za Jordán, dokud on před vámi nevyžene své nepřátele. 22 Až bude země před Hospodinem podmaněna, budete se moci vrátit a budete zproštěni tohoto závazku k Hospodinu a k Izraeli. Tehdy se před Hospodinem tato země stane vaším vlastnictvím. 23 Pokud se tak nezachováte, hle, zhřešíte proti Hospodinu, a vězte, že váš trest si vás najde. 24 Postavte si města pro děti a ohrady pro ovce a kozy; splňte však, co jste slíbili.“ 25 Rubenovi a Gádovi synové Mojžíšovi odpověděli: „Tvoji služebníci učiní, jak jim náš pán přikazuje. 26 Naše děti, naše ženy, náš dobytek a všechna naše zvířata zůstanou v gileádských městech, 27 zatímco tvoji služebníci, každý v plné zbroji, přejdou Jordán, aby bojovali před Hospodinem, jak praví náš pán.“ 28 Mojžíš tedy o nich vydal příkaz knězi Eleazarovi, Jozuovi, synu Nunovu, a náčelníkům izraelských pokolení. 29 Mojžíš jim řekl: „Pokud s vámi Gádovi a Rubenovi synové přejdou Jordán, každý vyzbrojen k boji před Hospodinem, pak jim po dobytí země dáte do vlastnictví gileádskou zem. 30 Pokud však s vámi nepůjdou jako ozbrojenci, připadne jim vlastnictví mezi vámi v kanaánské zemi.“ 31 Gádovi a Rubenovi synové na to řekli: „Uděláme, co Hospodin tvým služebníkům řekl: 32 Přejdeme vyzbrojeni před Hospodinem do země Kanaán a získáme dědičné vlastnictví v Zajordání.“ 33 Mojžíš tedy Gádovým a Rubenovým synům a polovině pokolení Manasesova, syna Josefova, přidělil království emorejského krále Sichona a bášanského krále Oga – zemi i s jejími městy včetně území pohraničních měst. 34 Synové Gádovi pak vystavěli Dibon, Atarot, Aroer, 35 Atarot-šofan, Jaezer, Jogbehu, 36 opevněná města Bet-nimra a Bet-haran a ohrady pro ovce a kozy. 37 Synové Rubenovi vystavěli Chešbon, Eleale, Kiriatajim, 38 Nebó, Baal-meon (jejichž jména byla změněna) a také Sibmu. Města, která vystavěli, přejmenovali. 39 Synové Machira, syna Manasesova, šli do Gileádu, dobyli jej a vyhnali Emorejce, kteří tam bydleli. 40 Mojžíš tedy Gileád přidělil Machirovi, synu Manasesovu, a ten se v ní usadil. 41 Manasesův syn Jair pak vytáhl, dobyl jejich vesnice a nazval je Chavot-jair, Jairovy vesnice. 42 Také Noba vytáhl, dobyl Kenat i jeho vesnice a nazval je svým jménem: Noba.

(Nu 21,32) 2 Darum kamen die Gaditer und die Rubeniter zu Mose, zu dem Priester Eleasar und zu den Anführern der Gemeinde und sagten: 3 Atarot, Dibon, Jaser, Nimra, Heschbon, Elale, Sibma, Nebo und Beon, 4 das Land, das der HERR vor den Augen der Gemeinde Israel geschlagen hat, ist ein Land für Viehherden und deine Knechte haben Viehbesitz. 5 Sie sagten: Wenn wir Gnade in deinen Augen gefunden haben, dann gebe man dieses Land deinen Knechten als Grundbesitz. 17 Wir selbst aber rüsten uns eilends und ziehen bewaffnet vor den Israeliten her, bis wir sie an ihren Ort gebracht haben. Unterdessen werden unsere kleinen Kinder in den Städten wohnen, die zum Schutz gegen die Einwohner des Landes befestigt sind. 18 Wir kehren nicht in unsere Häuser zurück, bevor jeder der Israeliten seinen Erbbesitz erhalten hat. 19 Wir verlangen auf der anderen Seite des Jordan keinen Erbbesitz wie sie, wenn wir diesseits, östlich des Jordan, unseren Erbbesitz bekommen. 20 Mose antwortete ihnen: Wenn ihr das tut, wenn ihr euch also vor den Augen des HERRN zum Kampf rüstet 21 und jeder von euch, der sich gerüstet hat, vor den Augen des HERRN den Jordan überschreitet, bis er seine Feinde ausgerottet hat 22 und das Land vor dem HERRN unterworfen ist, und ihr danach umkehrt vor dem HERRN und dem HERRN und Israel gegenüber ohne Tadel gehandelt habt, dann wird dieses Land vor den Augen des HERRN euch als Grundbesitz gehören. Aber haltet auch, was ihr versprochen habt! 25 Da sagten die Gaditer und die Rubeniter zu Mose: Deine Knechte werden tun, was mein Herr gebietet. 26 Unsere kleinen Kinder, unsere Frauen und unsere Herden, unser ganzes Vieh, werden dort in den Städten von Gilead bleiben. 27 Alle deine Knechte aber werden sich für das Heer rüsten und vor den Augen des HERRN über den Jordan in den Krieg ziehen, wie mein Herr befiehlt. 28 Mose gebot dem Priester Eleasar, Josua, dem Sohn Nuns, und den Familienhäuptern der Stämme der Israeliten: 29 Er sagte zu ihnen: Wenn die Gaditer und die Rubeniter, zum Kampf gerüstet, vor den Augen des HERRN mit euch den Jordan überschreiten und das Land vor euch unterworfen ist, dann gebt ihnen das Land Gilead zum Grundbesitz! 30 Wenn sie sich aber nicht rüsten und mit euch hinübergehen, dann sollen sie mitten unter euch in Kanaan Grundbesitz erhalten. 31 Die Gaditer und die Rubeniter antworteten: Was der HERR zu deinen Knechten sagt, werden wir tun. 32 Wir ziehen gerüstet vor den Augen des HERRN nach Kanaan hinüber, dann bleibt uns jenseits des Jordan vererbbarer Grundbesitz erhalten. 33 Da übergab Mose den Gaditern, den Rubenitern und dem halben Stamm des Manasse, des Sohnes Josefs, das Reich des Amoriterkönigs Sihon und das Reich Ogs, des Königs des Baschan, das Land und seine Städte mit den Gebieten der Städte des Landes ringsum. (Dt 3,12; Jz 13,8) 34 Die Gaditer erbauten Dibon, Atarot, Aroër, 35 Atrot-Schofan, Jaser, Jogboha, 36 Bet-Nimra und Bet-Haran; befestigte Städte und Schaf- und Ziegenpferche. 37 Die Rubeniter erbauten Heschbon, Elale, Kirjatajim, 38 Nebo und Baal-Meon, denen sie andere Namen gaben, sowie Sibma. Sie gaben nämlich den Städten, die sie wieder aufbauten, neue Namen. 39 Die Söhne Machirs, des Sohnes des Manasse, zogen nach Gilead und eroberten es. 1 Now the people of Reuben and the people of Gad had a very great number of livestock. And they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place for livestock.
