1 I svolav Ježíš dvanácte učedlníků svých, dal jim sílu a moc nad všelikým ďábelstvím, a aby neduhy uzdravovali. 2 I poslal je, aby kázali království Boží, a uzdravovali nemocné. 3 A řekl jim: Nic nebeřte na cestu, ani hůlky, ani mošny, ani chleba, ani peněz, ani po dvou sukních mívejte. 4 A do kteréhožkoli domu vešli byste, tu zůstaňte, a odtud vyjděte. 5 A kteříž by vás koli nepřijali, vyjdouce z města toho, také i ten prach z noh vašich vyrazte na svědectví proti nim. 6 I vyšedše, chodili po městečkách vůkol, zvěstujíce evangelium, a uzdravujíce všudy. 7 Uslyšel pak Herodes čtvrták o všech věcech, kteréž se dály od něho. I rozjímal to v mysli své, protože bylo praveno od některých, že by Jan vstal z mrtvých, 8 A od jiných, že by se Eliáš zjevil, od některých pak, že by jeden z proroků starých vstal. 9 I řekl Herodes: Jana jsem já sťal. Kdož pak jest tento, o kterémž já slyším takové věci? I žádostiv byl ho viděti. 10 Vrátivše se pak apoštolé, vypravovali jemu, cožkoli činili. A pojav je, odšel soukromí na místo pusté města řečeného Betsaida. 11 To když zvěděli zástupové, šli za ním; i přijal je, a mluvil jim o království Božím, a ty, kteříž uzdravení potřebovali, uzdravoval. 12 Den pak počal se nachylovati. I přistoupivše dvanácte učedlníků, řekli jemu: Rozpusť zástupy, ať rozejdouce se do městeček okolních a do vesnic, jdou a hledají pokrmů, nebo jsme tuto na místě pustém. 13 I řekl jim: Dejte vy jim jísti. A oni řekli: Nemámeť víc než pět chlebů a dvě rybě, leč bychom my snad šli a nakoupili na tento všecken lid pokrmů? 14 Nebo bylo mužů okolo pěti tisíců. I řekl učedlníkům svým: Rozkažte se jim posaditi v každém řadu po padesáti. 15 I učinili tak, a posadili se všickni. 16 A vzav těch pět chlebů a dvě rybě, vzhlédl v nebe a dobrořečil jim, i lámal, a rozdával učedlníkům, aby kladli před zástup. 17 I jedli, a nasyceni jsou všickni. A sebráno jest, což jim bylo ostalo drobtů, dvanácte košů. 18 I stalo se, když se on modlil obzvláštně, že byli s ním učedlníci. I otázal se jich, řka: Kým mne praví býti zástupové? 19 A oni odpověděvše, řekli: Janem Křtitelem, a jiní Eliášem, jiní pak, že prorok jeden z starých vstal. 20 I řekl jim: Vy pak kým mne býti pravíte? Odpověděv Petr, řekl: Krista toho Božího. 21 A on pohroziv jim, rozkázal, aby toho žádnému nepravili, 22 Pravě: Že Syn člověka musí mnoho trpěti, a potupen býti od starších a od předních kněží i od zákoníků, a zamordován býti, a třetího dne z mrtvých vstáti. 23 I pravil ke všechněm: Chce-li kdo přijíti za mnou, zapři sám sebe, a beř svůj kříž na každý den, a následuj mne. 24 Nebo kdož bude chtíti duši svou zachovati, ztratíť ji; a kdož ztratí duši svou pro mne, zachováť ji. 25 Nebo co jest platno člověku, by všecken svět získal, kdyby sám sebe zatratil, nebo sám sebe zmrhal? 26 Neb kdož by se za mne styděl a za mé řeči, za tohoť se Syn člověka styděti bude, když přijde v slávě své a Otce svého i svatých andělů. 27 Ale pravímť vám jistě: Jsouť někteří z těch, jenž tuto stojí, kteříž neokusí smrti, až i uzří království Boží. 28 I stalo se po těch řečech, jako po osmi dnech, že Ježíš vzav s sebou Petra a Jakuba a Jana, vstoupil na horu, aby se modlil. 29 A když se modlil, učiněna jest tvář jeho proměněná, a oděv jeho bílý a stkvoucí. 30 A aj, dva muži mluvili s ním, a ti byli Mojžíš a Eliáš. 31 Kteříž okázavše se v slávě, vypravovali o smrti jeho, kterouž měl podstoupiti v Jeruzalémě. 32 Petr pak a ti, kteříž s ním byli, obtíženi byli snem, a procítivše, viděli slávu jeho a dva muže, ani stojí s ním. 33 I stalo se, když oni odešli od něho, řekl Petr k Ježíšovi: Mistře, dobréť jest nám zde býti. Protož udělejme tuto tři stánky, tobě jeden, a Mojžíšovi jeden, a Eliášovi jeden, nevěda, co mluví. 34 A když on to mluvil, stal se oblak, i zastínil je. Báli se pak učedlníci, když oni vcházeli do oblaku. 35 I stal se hlas z oblaku řkoucí: Tentoť jest Syn můj milý, jeho poslouchejte. 36 A když se ten hlas stal, nalezen jest Ježíš sám. A oni mlčeli, a nepravili žádnému v těch dnech ničehož z těch věcí, kteréž jsou viděli. 37 Stalo se pak druhého dne, když sstupovali s hory, potkal jej zástup mnohý. 38 A aj, muž z zástupu zvolal, řka: Mistře, prosím tebe, vzhlédni na syna mého, nebť jediného toho mám. 39 A aj, duch jej napadá, a on ihned křičí, a sliní se, a ďábel lomcuje jím slinícím se, a nesnadně odchází od něho, sápaje jím. 40 I prosil jsem učedlníků tvých, aby jej vyvrhli, ale nemohli. 41 I odpověděv Ježíš, řekl: Ó pokolení nevěrné a převrácené, dokudž budu u vás a dokud vás snášeti budu? Přiveď sem syna svého. 42 A v tom, když on přicházel, porazil jej ďábel a lomcoval jím. I přimluvil duchu nečistému Ježíš, a uzdravil mládence, a navrátil jej otci jeho. 43 I divili se náramně všickni velikomocnosti Božské. A když se všickni divili všem věcem, kteréž činil Ježíš, řekl učedlníkům svým: 44 Složte vy v uších vašich řeči tyto, neboť Syn člověka bude vydán v ruce lidské. 45 Ale oni nesrozuměli slovu tomu, a bylo před nimi skryto, aby nevyrozuměli jemu. A báli se ho otázati o tom slovu. 46 I vznikla mezi nimi hádka o to, kdo by z nich byl větší. 47 Ježíš pak viděv přemyšlování srdce jejich, vzav dítě, postavil je podle sebe, 48 A řekl jim: Kdožkoli přijal by dítě toto ve jménu mém, mneť přijímá; a kdož by koli mne přijal, přijímá toho, kterýž mne poslal. Nebo kdožť jest nejmenší mezi všemi vámi, tenť bude veliký. 49 I odpověděv Jan, řekl: Mistře, viděli jsme jednoho, an ve jménu tvém ďábly vymítá; i bránili jsme mu, protože nechodí s námi. 50 I dí jemu Ježíš: Nebraňtež. Nebo kdoť není proti nám, s námiť jest. 51 I stalo se, když se doplnili dnové vzetí jeho vzhůru, a on se byl již na tom ustavil, aby šel do Jeruzaléma, 52 Že poslal posly před sebou. A oni jdouce, vešli do městečka Samaritánského, aby jemu zjednali hospodu. 53 I nepřijali ho, protože obličej jeho byl obrácen k jití do Jeruzaléma. 54 A viděvše to učedlníci jeho, Jakub a Jan, řekli: Pane, chceš-li, ať díme, aby oheň sstoupil s nebe a spálil je, jako i Eliáš učinil? 55 A obrátiv se Ježíš, potrestal jich, řka: Nevíte, čího jste vy duchu. 56 Syn zajisté člověka nepřišel zatracovati duší lidských, ale aby je spasil. I odešli do jiného městečka. 57 Stalo se pak, když šli cestou, řekl jemu jeden: Pane, půjdu za tebou, kam se koli obrátíš. 58 I řekl jemu Ježíš: Lišky doupata mají a ptáci nebeští hnízda, ale Syn člověka nemá, kde by hlavu sklonil. 59 I řekl k jinému: Pojď za mnou. A on řekl: Pane, dopusť mi prve jíti a pochovati otce mého. 60 I dí jemu Ježíš: Nech, ať mrtví pochovávají mrtvé své, ale ty jda, zvěstuj království Boží. 61 I řekl opět jiný : Půjdu za tebou, Pane, ale prve dopusť mi, ať se rozžehnám s těmi, kteříž jsou v domu mém. 62 Řekl jemu Ježíš: Žádný, kdož vztáhna ruku svou k pluhu, ohlídal by se nazpět, není způsobný k království Božímu.

1  Ježíš svolal svých Dvanáct a dal jim sílu a moc vyhánět všechny démony a léčit nemoci. 2  Poslal je zvěstovat Boží království a uzdravovat. 3  A řekl jim: „Nic si neberte na cestu, ani hůl ani mošnu ani chléb ani peníze ani dvoje šaty. 4  Když přijdete do některého domu, tam zůstávejte a odtud vycházejte. 5  A když vás někde nepřijmou, odejděte z onoho města a setřeste prach ze svých nohou na svědectví proti nim.“ 6  Vydali se na cestu, chodili od vesnice k vesnici, přinášeli všude radostnou zvěst a uzdravovali.  7  Tetrarcha Herodes slyšel o všem, co se dálo, ale nevěděl, co si má myslit, poněvadž někteří říkali, že Jan vstal z mrtvých, 8  jiní, že se zjevil Eliáš, a jiní zase, že vstal jeden z dávných proroků. 9  Herodes řekl: „Jana jsem přece dal stít. Kdo to tedy je, že o něm slyším takové věci?“ A přál si ho vidět.  10  Když se apoštolové navrátili, vypravovali Ježíšovi, co všechno činili. Vzal je s sebou a odešli sami do města Betsaidy. 11  Když to zástupy zpozorovaly, šly za ním; on je přijal, mluvil jim o Božím království a uzdravoval ty, kteří to potřebovali.  12  Schylovalo se k večeru. Tu k němu přistoupilo dvanáct učedníků a řekli: „Propusť zástup, ať jdou do okolních vesnic a dvorů opatřit si nocleh a něco k jídlu, protože jsme zde na pustém místě.“ 13  On jim řekl: „Dejte jim jíst vy!“ Řekli mu: „Nemáme víc než pět chlebů a dvě ryby; nebo snad máme jít a nakoupit pokrm pro všechen tento lid?“ 14  Bylo tam asi pět tisíc mužů. Řekl svým učedníkům: „Usaďte je ve skupinách asi po padesáti.“ 15  Učinili to a rozsadili je všechny. 16  Potom vzal těch pět chlebů a dvě ryby, vzhlédl k nebi, vzdal díky, lámal a dával učedníkům, aby je předložili zástupu. 17  A jedli a nasytili se všichni. A sebralo se zbylých nalámaných chlebů dvanáct košů.  18  Když se o samotě modlil a byli s ním jeho učedníci, otázal se jich: „Za koho mne zástupy pokládají?“ 19  Oni mu odpověděli: „Za Jana Křtitele, jiní za Eliáše a někteří myslí, že vstal jeden z dávných proroků.“ 20  Řekl jim: „A za koho mne pokládáte vy?“ Petr mu odpověděl: „Za Božího Mesiáše.“ 21  On jim však důrazně přikázal, aby to nikomu neříkali, a pravil jim: 22  “Syn člověka musí mnoho trpět, být zavržen od starších, velekněží a zákoníků, být zabit a třetího dne vzkříšen.“  23  Všem pak řekl: „Kdo chce jít za mnou, zapři sám sebe, nes každého dne svůj kříž a následuj mne. 24  Neboť kdo by chtěl zachránit svůj život, ten o něj přijde; kdo však přijde o život pro mne, zachrání jej. 25  Jaký prospěch má člověk, který získá celý svět, ale sám sebe ztratí nebo zmaří? 26  Kdo se stydí za mne a za má slova, za toho se bude stydět Syn člověka, až přijde v slávě své i Otcově a svatých andělů. 27  Říkám vám po pravdě: Někteří z těch, kteří tu stojí, neokusí smrti, dokud nespatří království Boží.“  28  Za týden po této rozmluvě vzal Ježíš s sebou Petra, Jana a Jakuba a vystoupil na horu, aby se modlil. 29  A když se modlil, nabyla jeho tvář nového vzhledu a jeho roucho bělostně zářilo. 30  A hle, rozmlouvali s ním dva muži – byli to Mojžíš a Eliáš; 31  zjevili se v slávě a mluvili o jeho cestě, kterou měl dokonat v Jeruzalémě. 32  Petra a jeho druhy obestřel těžký spánek. Když se probrali, spatřili jeho slávu i ty dva muže, kteří byli s ním. 33  Vtom se ti muži od něho začali vzdalovat; Petr mu řekl: „Mistře, je dobré, že jsme zde; udělejme tři stany, jeden tobě, jeden Mojžíšovi a jeden Eliášovi.“ Nevěděl, co mluví. 34  Než to dopověděl, přišel oblak a zastínil je. Když se ocitli v oblaku, zmocnila se jich bázeň. 35  A z oblaku se ozval hlas: „Toto jest můj vyvolený Syn, toho poslouchejte.“ 36  Když se hlas ozval, byl už Ježíš sám. Oni umlkli a nikomu tehdy neřekli nic o tom, co viděli.  37  Když příštího dne sestoupili z hory, vyšel mu vstříc veliký zástup. 38  A hle, jakýsi muž ze zástupu volal: „Mistře, prosím tě, ujmi se mého syna, vždyť je to mé jediné dítě; 39  hle, zachvacuje ho duch, takže znenadání vykřikuje, a lomcuje jím, až má pěnu kolem úst; jen stěží od něho odchází a tak ho moří. 40  Prosil jsem už tvé učedníky, aby ho vyhnali, ale nemohli.“ 41  Ježíš odpověděl: „Pokolení nevěřící a zvrácené, jak dlouho ještě mám být s vámi a snášet vás? Přiveď sem svého syna!“ 42  Ještě než k němu přišel, démon ho povalil a zkroutil křečí. Ježíš pohrozil nečistému duchu, uzdravil chlapce a vrátil jej otci. 43  Všichni žasli nad velikou Boží mocí. Když se všichni divili, co všechno učinil, řekl svým učedníkům: 44  “Slyšte a dobře si pamatujte tato slova: Syn člověka bude vydán do rukou lidí.“ 45  Oni však tomu slovu nerozuměli a jeho smysl jim zůstal skryt; proto nechápali, ale báli se ho na to slovo zeptat.  46  Přišlo jim na mysl, kdo z nich je asi největší. 47  Když Ježíš poznal, čím se v mysli obírají, vzal dítě, postavil je vedle sebe 48  a řekl jim: „Kdo přijme takové dítě ve jménu mém, přijímá mne; a kdo přijme mne, přijme toho, který mě poslal. Kdo je nejmenší mezi všemi vámi, ten je veliký.“  49  Jan mu na to řekl: „Mistře, viděli jsme kohosi, kdo v tvém jménu vyhání démony, a bránili jsme mu, protože tě nenásleduje jako my.“ 50  Ježíš mu řekl: „Nebraňte mu! Kdo není proti vám, je pro vás.“  51  Když se naplňovaly dny, kdy měl být vzat vzhůru, upjal svou mysl k cestě do Jeruzaléma 52  a poslal před sebou posly. Vydali se na cestu a přišli do jedné samařské vesnice, aby pro něho vše připravili. 53  Ale tam jej nepřijali, protože jeho tvář byla obrácena k Jeruzalému. 54  Když to uviděli učedníci Jakub a Jan, řekli: „Pane, máme přivolat oheň z nebe, aby je zahubil, jako to učinil Eliáš?“ 55  Obrátil se a pokáral je: „Nevíte, jakého jste ducha. 56  Syn člověka nepřišel lidi zahubit, ale zachránit.“ A šli do jiné vesnice.  57  Když se ubírali cestou, řekl mu kdosi: „Budu tě následovat, kamkoli půjdeš.“ 58  Ale Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Lišky mají doupata a ptáci hnízda, ale Syn člověka nemá, kde by hlavu složil.“ 59  Jinému řekl: „Následuj mne!“ On odpověděl: „Dovol mi, Pane, abych šel napřed pochovat svého otce.“ 60  Řekl mu: „Nech mrtvé, ať pochovávají své mrtvé. Ale ty jdi a všude zvěstuj království Boží.“ 61  A jiný mu řekl: „Budu tě následovat, Pane. Ale napřed mi dovol, abych se rozloučil se svou rodinou.“ 62  Ježíš mu řekl: „Kdo položí ruku na pluh a ohlíží se zpět, není způsobilý pro království Boží.“

1 Ježíš pak svolal svých Dvanáct, dal jim sílu a moc vyhánět všechny démony a uzdravovat nemoci 2 a poslal je ohlašovat Boží království a uzdravovat nemocné. 3 Řekl jim: „Nic si na tu cestu neberte: ani hůl ani mošnu ani chléb ani peníze; neberte si ani náhradní košile. 4 Do kteréhokoli domu vejdete, zůstaňte tam a odtud zas jděte dál. 5 Kdekoli by vás nepřijali, vyjděte z toho města a setřeste si prach z nohou na svědectví proti nim.“ 6 A tak vyšli a chodili po okolních vesnicích. Kázali evangelium a všude uzdravovali. 7 Když se o všem, co se dělo, doslechl i tetrarcha Herodes,[1] nevěděl, co si má myslet. Někteří říkali: „Jan vstal z mrtvých,“ 8 jiní, že prý se zjevil Eliáš, a další, že vstal jeden z dávných proroků. 9 „Jana jsem sťal,“ říkal si Herodes. „Kdo to tedy je, že o něm slyším takové věci?“ A toužil se s ním setkat. 10 Apoštolové se potom vrátili za Ježíšem a vyprávěli mu, co všechno dělali. Tehdy je vzal s sebou a odešel s nimi do ústraní poblíž města jménem Betsaida. 11 Jakmile se to dozvěděly zástupy, vydaly se za ním. Přijal je tedy, vyprávěl jim o Božím království a uzdravoval ty, kdo potřebovali uzdravit. 12 Když se začalo chýlit k večeru, přišlo za ním jeho Dvanáct. „Propusť ten zástup,“ řekli mu. „Ať se rozejdou do okolních vesnic a statků a najdou si tam nocleh a stravu, protože tady jsme v pustině.“ 13 Odpověděl jim: „Vy jim dejte najíst.“ „Nemáme víc než pět chlebů a dvě ryby,“ namítli. „Ledaže bychom šli a všem těm lidem jídlo koupili.“ 14 (Jen mužů tam bylo kolem pěti tisíc.) „Posaďte je ve skupinách asi po padesáti,“ řekl Ježíš učedníkům. 15 Když to udělali a všechny posadili, 16 vzal těch pět chlebů a dvě ryby, vzhlédl k nebi, požehnal je, lámal a dával svým učedníkům, aby je předkládali zástupu. 17 Všichni se najedli do sytosti a sebralo se ještě dvanáct košů nalámaných kousků, které jim zbyly. 18 Jednou, když se odešel modlit do ústraní, zeptal se přítomných učedníků: „Za koho mě mají zástupy?“ 19 „Někteří za Jana Křtitele,“ odpověděli, „jiní za Eliáše a další říkají, že vstal jeden z dávných proroků.“ 20 „A za koho mě máte vy?“ zeptal se. „Za Božího Mesiáše!“ odpověděl mu Petr. 21 Tehdy je přísně napomenul, aby to nikomu neříkali. 22 Pověděl jim: „Syn člověka musí mnoho vytrpět a být zavržen staršími, vrchními kněžími i znalci Písma, být zabit a třetího dne vstát z mrtvých.“ 23 Všem pak řekl: „Chce-li někdo jít za mnou, ať se zřekne sám sebe, bere svůj kříž každý den a následuje mne. 24 Kdokoli by si chtěl zachránit život, ztratí jej, ale kdokoli by ztratil svůj život pro mě, ten jej zachrání. 25 Co je člověku platné, kdyby získal celý svět, ale sám sebe ztratil nebo sám sobě uškodil? 26 Kdokoli by se styděl za mě a za má slova, za toho se bude stydět Syn člověka, až přijde ve své slávě a ve slávě Otce a svatých andělů. 27 Říkám vám popravdě: Někteří z těch, kdo tu stojí, rozhodně nezakusí smrt, dokud nespatří Boží království.“ 28 Asi po týdnu vzal k sobě Petra, Jakuba a Jana a vystoupil na horu, aby se modlil. 29 Zatímco se modlil, změnil se vzhled jeho tváře, jeho oděv zbělel a rozzářil se. 30 A hle, mluvili s ním dva muži. Byli to Mojžíš a Eliáš, 31 kteří se ukázali ve slávě a mluvili o jeho odchodu, k němuž mělo dojít v Jeruzalémě. 32 Petr a jeho druhové však byli přemoženi spánkem. Jakmile se probudili, uviděli jeho slávu a ty dva muže po jeho boku. 33 Když se od něj začali vzdalovat, Petr Ježíše oslovil: „Mistře, dobře, že jsme tu! Uděláme tu tři stánky – jeden tobě, jeden Mojžíšovi a jeden Eliášovi.“ Nevěděl ale, co říká. 34 Než to dořekl, objevil se oblak a zahalil je. Když se ocitli v tom oblaku, dostali strach. 35 Z oblaku se ozval hlas: „Toto je můj Syn, můj Vyvolený.[2] Toho poslouchejte.“ 36 Když ten hlas dozněl, našli tam jen samotného Ježíše. Zůstali zticha a v těch dnech nikomu neprozradili, co viděli. 37 Když pak druhý den sestoupili z hory, vyšla mu naproti velká spousta lidí. 38 Vtom jeden muž z davu vykřikl: „Mistře, prosím tě, smiluj se nad mým synem – mám jenom jeho! 39 Náhle ho napadá zlý duch a zničehonic začne křičet. Zmítá jím, až má pěnu u úst. Sotva ho kdy opouští a hrozně ho trápí. 40 Prosil jsem tvé učedníky, aby ho vyhnali, ale nemohli!“ 41 „Vy nevěřící a zvrácené pokolení!“ zvolal Ježíš. „Jak dlouho ještě budu s vámi a budu vás snášet? Přiveď sem svého syna.“ 42 Než k němu došel, démon ho porazil a začal jím zmítat. Ježíš okřikl nečistého ducha, uzdravil chlapce a vrátil ho jeho otci. 43 Všichni byli ohromeni Boží velkolepostí. Zatímco všichni žasli nad vším, co udělal, Ježíš se obrátil ke svým učedníkům: 44 „Dobře si pamatujte tato slova: Syn člověka bude vydán do lidských rukou.“ 45 Oni však ten výrok nepochopili. Jeho smysl jim zůstal skryt, takže mu nerozuměli, ale báli se ho zeptat. 46 Tehdy mezi nimi vyvstala otázka, kdo z nich je největší. 47 Když Ježíš viděl, jaké myšlenky mají v srdci, vzal dítě, postavil je vedle sebe 48 a řekl jim: „Kdokoli přijme takové dítě v mém jménu, přijímá mne, a kdokoli přijme mne, přijímá Toho, který mě poslal. Kdo je totiž mezi vámi ze všech nejmenší, ten bude veliký.“ 49 „Mistře,“ řekl mu na to Jan, „viděli jsme někoho, jak ve tvém jménu vymítá démony, a bránili jsme mu, protože nechodí s námi.“ 50 „Nebraňte mu,“ odpověděl Ježíš. „Kdo není proti nám, je s námi.“ 51 Když se začal blížit čas, kdy měl být vzat vzhůru, pevně se rozhodl k cestě do Jeruzaléma. 52 Vyslal před sebou posly a ti šli napřed do jedné samařské vesnice, aby pro něj vše připravili. 53 Místní ho ale nepřijali, protože byl rozhodnut jít do Jeruzaléma. 54 Když to viděli učedníci Jakub a Jan, navrhli: „Pane, máme přivolat oheň z nebe, aby je pohltil?“[3] 55 Ježíš se však obrátil a okřikl je.[4] 56 Šli tedy do jiné vesnice. 57 Cestou mu někdo řekl: „Budu tě následovat, kamkoli půjdeš.“ 58 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Lišky mají doupata a ptáci hnízda, ale Syn člověka nemá, kde by hlavu složil.“ 59 Jiného vyzval: „Pojď za mnou!“ On ale řekl: „Pane, dovol, ať nejdřív odejdu a pochovám svého otce.“ 60 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Nech mrtvé, ať pochovávají své mrtvé; ty pojď rozhlašovat Boží království!“ 61 Další mu řekl: „Pane, půjdu za tebou, ale dovol, ať se napřed rozloučím se všemi doma.“ 62 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Kdo se chopí pluhu a ohlíží se zpátky, nehodí se pro Boží království.“

1 Dann rief er die Zwölf zu sich und gab ihnen Kraft und Vollmacht über alle Dämonen und um Krankheiten zu heilen. (Mt 10,1; Mk 6,7; L 10,1) 2 Und er sandte sie aus, das Reich Gottes zu verkünden und die Kranken gesund zu machen. 3 Er sagte zu ihnen: Nehmt nichts mit auf den Weg, keinen Wanderstab und keine Vorratstasche, kein Brot, kein Geld und kein zweites Hemd! (L 22,35) 4 Bleibt in dem Haus, in dem ihr einkehrt, bis ihr den Ort wieder verlasst! 5 Wenn euch aber die Leute nicht aufnehmen, dann geht weg aus jener Stadt und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen, zum Zeugnis gegen sie! 6 Die Zwölf machten sich auf den Weg und wanderten von Dorf zu Dorf. Sie verkündeten das Evangelium und heilten überall. 7 Der Tetrarch Herodes hörte von allem, was geschah, und wusste nicht, was er davon halten sollte. Denn manche sagten: Johannes ist von den Toten auferstanden.[1] (Mt 14,1; Mt 16,14; Mk 6,14; L 9,19) 8 Andere meinten: Elija ist erschienen. Er empfing sie freundlich, redete zu ihnen vom Reich Gottes und machte gesund, die der Heilung bedurften. 12 Als der Tag zur Neige ging, kamen die Zwölf und sagten zu ihm: Schick die Leute weg, damit sie in die umliegenden Dörfer und Gehöfte gehen, dort Unterkunft finden und etwas zu essen bekommen; denn wir sind hier an einem abgelegenen Ort. 13 Er antwortete ihnen: Gebt ihr ihnen zu essen! Sie sagten: Wir haben nicht mehr als fünf Brote und zwei Fische; wir müssten erst weggehen und für dieses ganze Volk etwas zu essen kaufen. 14 Es waren nämlich etwa fünftausend Männer. Er aber sagte zu seinen Jüngern: Lasst sie sich in Gruppen zu ungefähr fünfzig lagern! 15 Die Jünger taten so und veranlassten, dass sich alle lagerten. 16 Jesus aber nahm die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische, blickte zum Himmel auf, sprach den Lobpreis und brach sie; dann gab er sie den Jüngern, damit sie diese an die Leute austeilten. 17 Und alle aßen und wurden satt. Als man die übrig gebliebenen Brotstücke einsammelte, waren es zwölf Körbe voll. 18 Und es geschah: Jesus betete für sich allein und die Jünger waren bei ihm. (Mt 10,39; Mt 16,25; L 17,33; J 12,25) 25 Was nützt es einem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewinnt, dabei aber sich selbst verliert und Schaden nimmt? 26 Denn wer sich meiner und meiner Worte schämt, dessen wird sich der Menschensohn schämen, wenn er in seiner Herrlichkeit kommt und in der des Vaters und der heiligen Engel. (Mt 10,33) 27 Wahrhaftig, das sage ich euch: Von denen, die hier stehen, werden einige den Tod nicht schmecken, bis sie das Reich Gottes gesehen haben. (Mt 10,23; Mt 24,34) 28 Es geschah aber: Etwa acht Tage nach diesen Worten nahm Jesus Petrus, Johannes und Jakobus mit sich und stieg auf einen Berg, um zu beten. Sie aber fürchteten sich, als sie in die Wolke hineingerieten. 35 Da erscholl eine Stimme aus der Wolke: Dieser ist mein auserwählter Sohn, auf ihn sollt ihr hören. (Dt 18,15; Ž 2,7; Iz 42,1; Mt 3,17) 36 Während die Stimme erscholl, fanden sie Jesus allein. Und sie schwiegen und erzählten in jenen Tagen niemandem von dem, was sie gesehen hatten. 37 Es geschah aber am folgenden Tag: Als sie vom Berg hinabstiegen, kam ihm eine große Menschenmenge entgegen. Wie lange muss ich noch bei euch sein und euch ertragen? Bring deinen Sohn her! 42 Als der Sohn herkam, warf der Dämon ihn zu Boden und zerrte ihn hin und her. Jesus aber drohte dem unreinen Geist, heilte den Knaben und gab ihn seinem Vater zurück. 43 Und alle waren außer sich vor Staunen über die Größe Gottes. Alle Leute staunten über das, was Jesus tat; er aber sagte zu seinen Jüngern: (Mk 9,30; L 24,1) 44 Behaltet diese Worte in euren Ohren: Der Menschensohn wird nämlich in die Hände von Menschen ausgeliefert werden. (L 9,22; L 17,25; L 18,32) 45 Doch die Jünger verstanden den Sinn seiner Worte nicht; er blieb ihnen verborgen, sodass sie ihn nicht begriffen. Aber sie scheuten sich, Jesus zu fragen, was er damit sagen wollte. (L 18,34) 46 Unter ihnen kam der Gedanke auf, wer von ihnen der Größte sei. (Mt 18,1; Mk 9,33; L 22,24) 47 Jesus sah den Gedanken in ihren Herzen. Deshalb nahm er ein Kind, stellte es neben sich 48 und sagte zu ihnen: Wer dieses Kind in meinem Namen aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf; und wer mich aufnimmt, der nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat. Denn wer unter euch allen der Kleinste ist, der ist groß. 49 Da sagte Johannes: Meister, wir haben gesehen, wie jemand in deinem Namen Dämonen austrieb, und wir versuchten, ihn daran zu hindern, weil er nicht mit uns zusammen nachfolgt. (Mk 9,38) 50 Jesus antwortete ihm: Hindert ihn nicht! Denn wer nicht gegen euch ist, der ist für euch. 51 Es geschah aber: Als sich die Tage erfüllten, dass er hinweggenommen werden sollte, fasste Jesus den festen Entschluss, nach Jerusalem zu gehen. (Sk 1,9) 52 Und er schickte Boten vor sich her. Diese gingen und kamen in ein Dorf der Samariter und wollten eine Unterkunft für ihn besorgen.[3] (J 4,20) 53 Aber man nahm ihn nicht auf, weil er auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem war. 54 Als die Jünger Jakobus und Johannes das sahen, sagten sie: Herr, sollen wir sagen, dass Feuer vom Himmel fällt und sie verzehrt? 55 Da wandte er sich um und wies sie zurecht. 56 Und sie gingen in ein anderes Dorf. 57 Als sie auf dem Weg weiterzogen, sagte ein Mann zu Jesus: Ich will dir nachfolgen, wohin du auch gehst. (Mt 8,18) 58 Jesus antwortete ihm: Die Füchse haben Höhlen und die Vögel des Himmels Nester; der Menschensohn aber hat keinen Ort, wo er sein Haupt hinlegen kann. 59 Zu einem anderen sagte er: Folge mir nach! Der erwiderte: Lass mich zuerst weggehen und meinen Vater begraben![4] 60 Jesus sagte zu ihm: Lass die Toten ihre Toten begraben; du aber geh und verkünde das Reich Gottes! 61 Wieder ein anderer sagte: Ich will dir nachfolgen, Herr. Zuvor aber lass mich Abschied nehmen von denen, die in meinem Hause sind. 62 Jesus erwiderte ihm: Keiner, der die Hand an den Pflug gelegt hat und nochmals zurückblickt, taugt für das Reich Gottes.

And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. 15 And they did so, and made them all sit down. 16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. 18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? 19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again. 20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. 21 And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; 22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. 27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. 28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. 30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. 33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. 34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. 35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen. 37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. 38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. 39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. 40 And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not. 41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither. 42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, 44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. 45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. 46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. 47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, 48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. 49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. 51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. 53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. 57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. 61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. 62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
