1 Toto pak jest, což dědičně obdrželi synové Izraelští v zemi Kanán, což uvedli jim právem dědičným k vládařství Eleazar kněz, a Jozue, syn Nun, a přední z otců, v pokolení synů Izraelských, 2 Losem dělíce dědictví jejich, jakož přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše, aby dal devateru pokolení a polovici pokolení. 3 Nebo byl dal Mojžíš dědictví půltřetímu pokolení před Jordánem, Levítům pak nedal dědictví u prostřed nich. 4 Nebo synů Jozefových bylo dvoje pokolení, Manassesovo a Efraimovo; a nedali dílu Levítům v zemi, kromě měst k bydlení, a podměstí jejich pro dobytek a stáda jejich. 5 Jakož přikázal Hospodin Mojžíšovi, tak učinili synové Izraelští, a rozdělili zemi. 6 Přistoupili pak synové Juda k Jozue v Galgala, i promluvil k němu Kálef, syn Jefonův, Cenezejský: Ty víš, co jest mluvil Hospodin k Mojžíšovi, muži Božímu, z příčiny mé a tvé v Kádesbarne. 7 Ve čtyřidceti letech byl jsem, když mne poslal Mojžíš, služebník Hospodinův, z Kádesbarne k spatření země, a oznámil jsem jemu tu věc, jakž bylo v srdci mém. 8 Ale bratří moji, kteříž šli se mnou, zkormoutili srdce lidu, já pak cele kráčel jsem za Hospodinem Bohem svým. 9 I přisáhl Mojžíš toho dne, řka: Jistě že země, po kteréž jsi chodil nohama svýma, bude v dědictví tobě i synům tvým až na věky, proto že jsi cele následoval Hospodina Boha mého. 10 A nyní, aj, propůjčil mi Hospodin života, jakož zaslíbil. Již čtyřidceti a pět let jest od toho času, jakž toto mluvil Hospodin k Mojžíšovi, a jakž chodil Izrael po poušti, a aj, již dnes jsem v osmdesáti pěti letech, 11 A ještě nyní jsem při síle jako tehdáž, když poslal mne Mojžíš. Jaká byla síla má tehdáž, taková i nyní síla má jest k boji, a k vycházení i k vcházení. 12 Protož nyní dej mi horu tuto, o níž mluvil Hospodin onoho dne, nebo ty slyšel jsi toho dne, že Enakim jsou tam, a města veliká a pevně hrazená. Bude-li Hospodin se mnou, vyhladím je, jakož mluvil Hospodin. 13 I požehnal mu Jozue, a dal Hebron Kálefovi, synu Jefone, v dědictví. 14 Protož dostal se Hebron Kálefovi, synu Jefona Cenezejského, v dědictví až do tohoto dne, proto že cele kráčel za Hospodinem Bohem Izraelským. 15 Sloulo pak Hebron prvé město Arbe, kterýžto Arbe byl člověk veliký mezi Enakim. I odpočinula země od bojů.

1 Izraelci obdrželi v kenaanské zemi tyto dědičné podíly: přidělili jim je dědičně kněz Eleazar a Jozue, syn Núnův, a představitelé rodů izraelských pokolení. 2 Dědičný podíl, a to pro devět a půl pokolení, jim byl přidělen losem, jak přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše. 3 Mojžíš dal totiž dědičný podíl dvěma a půl pokolením v Zajordání. Lévijcům ovšem mezi nimi dědičný podíl nedal. 4 Zato Josefovci tvořili dvě pokolení, Manasesovo a Efrajimovo; a tak nedali lévijcům podíl v zemi, jen města k bydlení a pastviny pro jejich dobytek a stáda. 5 Jak přikázal Hospodin Mojžíšovi, tak Izraelci učinili, když rozdělovali zemi. 6 Judovci přistoupili v Gilgálu k Jozuovi a Káleb, syn Kenazejce Jefuna, mu řekl: „Ty znáš rozhodnutí, o němž mluvil Hospodin v Kádeš-barneji k Mojžíšovi, muži Božímu, ohledně mne a tebe. 7 Bylo mi čtyřicet let, když mě Mojžíš, služebník Hospodinův, vyslal z Kádeš-barneje, abych jako zvěd prošel zemí, a já jsem mu podal zprávu podle nejlepšího svědomí. 8 Moji bratří, kteří táhli vzhůru se mnou, zavinili, že lid ztratil odvahu. Ale já jsem se cele oddal Hospodinu, svému Bohu. 9 Onoho dne se zavázal Mojžíš přísahou: ‚Ano, země, na niž stoupla tvá noha, bude navěky patřit tobě a tvým synům jako dědičný podíl, neboť ses cele oddal Hospodinu, mému Bohu.‘ 10 Nuže hle, Hospodin mě uchoval naživu, jak přislíbil. Čtyřicet pět let uplynulo od chvíle, co Hospodin takto promluvil k Mojžíšovi, když Izrael putoval pouští. A hle, je mi už osmdesát pět let. 11 Ale ještě dnes jsem právě tak silný jako tenkrát, když mě Mojžíš vyslal. Moje síla je dnes stejná, jako byla tehdy, abych bojoval a vycházel a vcházel. 12 Nuže, dej mi to pohoří, o němž mluvil onoho dne Hospodin. Slyšel jsi přece v onen den, že jsou tam Anákovci a velká opevněná města. Snad bude Hospodin se mnou a podaří se mi podrobit si je, jak mluvil Hospodin.“ 13 Jozue mu požehnal a přidělil Chebrón jako dědičný podíl Kálebovi, synu Jefunovu. 14 Proto patří Chebrón až dodnes jako dědičný podíl Kálebovi, synu Kenazejce Jefuna, poněvadž se cele oddal Hospodinu, Bohu Izraele. 15 Předtím se Chebrón jmenoval Kirjat-arba (to je Město Arbovo); Arba byl největší člověk mezi Anákovci. A země žila v míru bez válek.

1 A toto jsou dědictví, která synové Izraele získali v kanaánské zemi, jak jim je přidělil kněz Eleazar a Jozue, syn Nunův, s náčelníky otcovských pokolení Izraele. 2 Devět a půl pokolení získalo své dědictví losem, jak to Hospodin přikázal skrze Mojžíše, 3 kdežto dvě a půl pokolení už dostala svá dědictví od Mojžíše v Zajordání. Levitům však mezi nimi žádné dědictví nepřipadlo. 4 Ze synů Josefových vznikla dvě pokolení, Manases a Efraim. Levitům ovšem žádný podíl v zemi nepřipadl, pouze města k bydlení a přilehlé pastviny pro jejich dobytek a stáda. 5 Synové Izraele udělali, co Hospodin přikázal Mojžíšovi, a rozdělili si zem.

Kálebův podíl

6 Synové Judovi přišli v Gilgalu za Jozuem a Káleb, syn Kenizejce Jefuna, k němu promluvil: „Ty víš, co Hospodin v Kádeš-barné pověděl Božímu muži Mojžíšovi o mně a o tobě.^[1] 7 Bylo mi čtyřicet let, když mě Hospodinův služebník Mojžíš vyslal z Kádeš-barné, abych prozkoumal tuto zem. Přinesl jsem mu zprávu podle svého nejlepšího svědomí. 8 Mí bratři, kteří šli se mnou, připravili všechen lid o odvahu, ale já jsem se cele vydal Hospodinu, svému Bohu. 9 Onoho dne Mojžíš přísahal: ‚Země, kterou prošly tvé nohy, jistě připadne navěky za dědictví tobě a tvým synům, neboť ses cele vydal Hospodinu, mému Bohu.‘^[2] 10 A hle, Hospodin mě uchoval naživu, jak slíbil. Je tomu čtyřicet pět let od chvíle, kdy to Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi, když Izrael putoval pouští. A hle, dnes tu jsem a je mi osmdesát pět let. 11 Dodnes jsem ale silný jako tehdy, když mě vyslal Mojžíš. Jakou sílu jsem měl tenkrát, takovou mám i teď, k boji i k životu. 12 Dej mi ty hory, o nichž onoho dne mluvil Hospodin. Sám jsi tenkrát slyšel, že tam jsou Anakovci a veliká opevněná města. Bude-li Hospodin se mnou, vyženu je, jak Hospodin řekl.“ 13 Jozue tedy Kálebovi, synu Jefunovu, požehnal a dal mu do dědictví Hebron. 14 Proto Hebron až dodnes dědičně patří Kálebovi, synu Kenizejce Jefuna, neboť se cele vydal Hospodinu, Bohu Izraele. 15 (Hebron se dříve jmenoval Kiriat-arba, tedy Město Arbovo, podle největšího z Anakovců.) Země tehdy odpočinula od válek.

1 Das sind die Gebiete, die die Israeliten als Erbbesitz im Land Kanaan erhielten und die der Priester Eleasar sowie Josua, der Sohn Nuns, und die Anführer der Sippen der Israeliten zuteilten - (Nu 34,17) 2 durch das Los teilten sie es ihnen zu, wie es der HERR durch Mose befohlen hatte -, den neuneinhalb Stämmen.^[1] (Nu 26,55) 3 Denn Mose hatte zweieinhalb Stämmen ihren Erbbesitz schon jenseits des Jordan zugewiesen; den Leviten gab er keinen Erbbesitz in ihrer Mitte. (Dt 10,9; Jz 13,14) 4 Denn die Nachkommen Josefs bildeten zwei Stämme, Manasse und Efraim. Den Leviten gab man also keinen Landanteil, sondern nur Städte als Wohnsitz und die dazugehörenden Weideflächen für ihr Vieh und ihren Besitz. The Inheritance West of the Jordan

1 These are the inheritances that the people of Israel received in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the people of Israel gave them to inherit. (Nu 34,17; Jz 17,4; Jz 21,1) 2 Their inheritance was by lot, just as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses for the nine and one-half tribes. (Nu 26,56; Nu 33,54; Nu 34,13) 3 For Moses had given an inheritance to the two and one-half tribes beyond the Jordan, but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them. (Jz 13,8; Jz 13,33) 4 For the people of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. And no portion was given to the Levites in the land, but only cities to dwell in, with their pasturelands for their livestock and their substance. Caleb’s Request and Inheritance

14 Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.
