1 Stalo se pak po smrti Mojžíše, služebníka Hospodinova, že mluvil Hospodin k Jozue, synu Nun, služebníku Mojžíšovu, řka: 2 Mojžíš, služebník můj, umřel; protož nyní vstaň, přejdi Jordán tento, ty i všecken lid tento, a jdi do země, kterouž já dávám synům Izraelským. 3 Každé místo, po kterémž šlapati budete nohama svýma, dal jsem vám, jakož jsem mluvil k Mojžíšovi. 4 Od pouště a Libánu toho až k řece veliké, řece Eufrates, všecka země Hetejská až do moře velikého na západ slunce bude pomezí vaše. 5 Neostojí žádný před tebou po všecky dny života tvého; jakož jsem byl s Mojžíšem, tak budu s tebou; nenechám tebe samého, aniž tě opustím. 6 Posilniž se a zmužile se měj, nebo ty uvedeš v dědictví lidu tomuto zemi, kterouž jsem s přísahou zaslíbil otcům jejich, že ji dám jim. 7 Toliko posilň se a udatně sobě počínej, abys ostříhal a činil všecko podlé zákona, kterýž přikázal tobě Mojžíš, služebník můj; neuchyluj se od něho na pravo ani na levo, abys byl opatrný ve všem, k čemuž se obrátíš. 8 Neodejdeť kniha zákona tohoto od úst tvých, ale přemyšlovati budeš o něm dnem i nocí, abys ostříhal a činil všecko podlé toho, což psáno jest v něm; nebo tehdáž šťastný budeš na cestách svých, a tehdáž opatrný budeš. 9 Zdaliž jsem nepřikázal tobě, řka: Posilni se a zmužile se měj, neboj se, ani lekej, nebo s tebou jest Hospodin Bůh tvůj, kamž se koli obrátíš. 10 Tedy přikázal Jozue správcům lidu, řka: 11 Projděte skrze tábor a přikažte lidu, řkouce: Nachystejte sobě potravy, nebo po třech dnech půjdete přes Jordán tento, abyste vejdouce, opanovali zemi, kterouž Hospodin Bůh váš dává vám k dědičnému vládařství. 12 Rubenovu pak pokolení a Gádovu, a polovici pokolení Manassesova mluvil Jozue, řka: 13 Pomněte na to, co vám přikázal Mojžíš služebník Hospodinův, když řekl: Hospodin Bůh váš způsobil vám odpočinutí, že vám dal zemi tuto. 14 Ženy vaše, dítky vaše i dobytek váš nechť zůstanou v zemi, kterouž dal vám Mojžíš s této strany Jordánu, vy pak jděte vojensky zpořádaní před bratřími svými, kteříkoli jste muži silní, a pomáhejte jim, 15 Dokudž nedá odpočinutí Hospodin bratřím vašim jako i vám, a neobdrží dědičně také i oni země, kterouž Hospodin Bůh váš dává jim. Potom navrátíte se do země dědictví svého, kterouž dal vám Mojžíš, služebník Hospodinův, s této strany Jordánu, k východu slunce, a dědičně vlásti jí budete. 16 I odpověděli k Jozue, řkouce: Všecko, což jsi nám rozkázal, učiníme, a kamžkoli pošleš nás, půjdeme. 17 Rovně jakž jsme poslouchali Mojžíše, tak poslouchati budeme tebe; jediné nechť jest Hospodin Bůh tvůj s tebou, jako byl s Mojžíšem. 18 Kdo by koli odporný byl rozkázaní tvému, a neposlouchal by řečí tvých ve všech věcech, kteréž bys přikázal jemu, umřeť; toliko posilň se a zmužile se měj.

1 Po smrti Mojžíše, služebníka Hospodinova, řekl Hospodin Jozuovi, synu Núnovu, který Mojžíšovi přisluhoval: 2 „Mojžíš, můj služebník, zemřel. Nyní tedy vstaň a přejdi s veškerým tímto lidem přes tento Jordán do země, kterou dávám Izraelcům. 3 Dal jsem vám každé místo, na které vaše noha šlápne, jak jsem přislíbil Mojžíšovi. 4 Vaše pomezí povede od stepi a tohoto Libanónu až k veliké řece, řece Eufratu, podél celé země Chetejců až k Velkému moři, kde zapadá slunce. 5 Po všechny dny tvého života se proti tobě nikdo nepostaví. Jako jsem byl s Mojžíšem, budu i s tebou. Nenechám tě klesnout a neopustím tě. 6 Buď rozhodný a udatný, neboť ty rozdělíš tomuto lidu zemi v dědictví, jak jsem se přísežně zavázal jejich otcům, že jim ji dám. 7 Jen buď rozhodný a velmi udatný, bedlivě plň vše, co je v zákoně, který ti přikázal Mojžíš, můj služebník. Neodchyluj se od něho napravo ani nalevo; tak budeš jednat prozíravě všude, kam půjdeš. 8 Kniha tohoto zákona ať se nevzdálí od tvých úst. Rozjímej nad ním ve dne v noci, abys mohl bedlivě plnit vše, co je v něm zapsáno. Potom tě bude na tvé cestě provázet zdar, potom budeš jednat prozíravě. 9 Nepřikázal jsem ti snad: Buď rozhodný a udatný, neměj strach a neděs se, neboť Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, bude s tebou všude, kam půjdeš?“ 10 I přikázal Jozue správcům lidu: 11 „Projděte táborem a přikažte lidu: Připravte si zásobu potravin, neboť po třech dnech přejdete tento Jordán a půjdete obsadit zemi, kterou vám Hospodin, váš Bůh, dává do vlastnictví.“ 12 Rúbenovcům, Gádovcům a polovině kmene Manasesova pak Jozue řekl: 13 „Pamatujte na to, co vám přikázal Mojžíš, služebník Hospodinův. Řekl: ‚Hospodin, váš Bůh, vás přivede do odpočinutí a dá vám tuto zemi.‘ 14 Vaše ženy, děti a stáda nechť zůstanou v zemi, kterou vám dal Mojžíš v Zajordání. Ale vy ostatní, udatní bohatýři, vojensky seřazeni přejdete před svými bratřími řeku a budete jim pomáhat, 15 dokud Hospodin nepřivede do odpočinutí vaše bratry jako vás. Až i oni obsadí zemi, kterou jim dává Hospodin, váš Bůh, vrátíte se do své země a obsadíte ji; tu vám dal Mojžíš, služebník Hospodinův, v Zajordání na východě.“ 16 Odpověděli Jozuovi: „Učiníme všechno, co jsi nám přikázal, a půjdeme všude, kam nás pošleš. 17 Budeme tě poslouchat stejně, jako jsme poslouchali Mojžíše. Jen ať Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, je s tebou, jako byl s Mojžíšem. 18 Kdo se tvému rozkazu postaví na odpor a tvých slov neuposlechne ve všem, co mu přikážeš, je hoden smrti. Jen buď rozhodný a udatný.“

1 Po smrti Hospodinova služebníka Mojžíše promluvil Hospodin k Mojžíšovu pomocníku Jozuovi, synu Nunovu: 2 „Mojžíš, můj služebník, zemřel. Ty ale teď vstaň a spolu se vším tímto lidem zde přejdi Jordán do země, kterou dávám synům Izraele. 3 Každé místo, na něž stoupne vaše noha, jsem vám dal, jak jsem slíbil Mojžíšovi.^[1] 4 Vaše území bude sahat od pouště až k Libanonu a od té veliké řeky, řeky Eufrat, podél celé země Chetitů až ke Středozemnímu moři, kde zapadá slunce. 5 Po všechny dny tvého života před tebou nikdo neobstojí; jako jsem býval s Mojžíšem, budu i s tebou. Nenechám tě samotného a neopustím tě. 6 Buď silný a statečný, neboť ty dáš tomuto lidu za dědictví zem, o níž jsem přísahal jejich otcům, že jim ji dám.^[2] 7 Jen buď silný a velmi statečný, abys pečlivě dodržoval celý Zákon, který ti přikázal můj služebník Mojžíš. Neuchyluj se od něj napravo ani nalevo, a bude se ti dařit, kamkoli půjdeš. 8 Kniha tohoto Zákona ať se nevzdálí od tvých úst, ale přemítej o něm dnem i nocí, abys pečlivě dodržoval vše, co je v něm psáno. Tehdy budeš mít na svých cestách úspěch a tehdy se ti bude dařit. 9 Přikazuji ti: Buď silný a statečný, neboj se a nestrachuj, neboť Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, je s tebou, kamkoli půjdeš.“ 10 Jozue tedy přikázal správcům lidu: 11 „Projděte táborem a přikažte lidu: Připravte si jídlo na cestu, neboť po třech dnech zde překročíte Jordán, abyste obsadili zem, kterou vám Hospodin, váš Bůh, dává za dědictví.“ 12 Pokolení Rubenovu, Gádovu a polovině Manasesova kmene Jozue řekl: 13 „Pamatujte na to, co vám přikázal Hospodinův služebník Mojžíš – Hospodin, váš Bůh, vám dává odpočinek již zde a věnuje vám tuto zem. 14 Vaše ženy, vaše děti i vaše stáda zůstanou v zemi, kterou vám Mojžíš dal v Zajordání. Vy muži ale musíte jít v bojovém šiku jako udatní hrdinové před svými bratry a pomáhat jim, 15 dokud Hospodin nedá vašim bratrům odpočinek tak jako vám a dokud i oni neobdrží zem, kterou jim dává Hospodin, váš Bůh. Potom se vrátíte na východní břeh Jordánu a ujmete se své země, kterou vám dal Hospodinův služebník Mojžíš.“^[3] 16 Na to Jozuovi odpověděli: „Vše, cos nám přikázal, vykonáme, a kamkoli nás pošleš, půjdeme. 17 Jako jsme poslouchali Mojžíše, budeme poslouchat i tebe. Jen ať je Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, s tebou, jako býval s Mojžíšem! 18 Kdokoli se vzbouří proti tvým rozkazům a neposlechne tvá slova, ať mu přikážeš cokoli, zemře. Jen buď silný a statečný!“

1 Nachdem Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gestorben war, sagte der HERR zu Josua, dem Sohn Nuns, dem Diener des Mose: (Dt 34,5) 2 Mein Knecht Mose ist gestorben. Mach dich also auf den Weg und zieh über den Jordan hier mit diesem ganzen Volk in das Land, das ich ihnen, den Israeliten, geben werde! 3 Jeden Ort, den euer Fuß betreten wird, gebe ich euch, wie ich es Mose versprochen habe. (Dt 11,24) 4 Euer Gebiet soll von der Steppe und vom Libanon an bis zum großen Strom, zum Eufrat, reichen - das ist das ganze Land der Hetiter - und bis hin zum großen Meer, wo die Sonne untergeht. 5 Niemand wird dir Widerstand leisten können, solange du lebst. Wie ich mit Mose war, will ich auch mit dir sein. Ich lasse dich nicht fallen und verlasse dich nicht. (Dt 31,6) 6 Sei mutig und stark! Fürchte dich also nicht und hab keine Angst; denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist mit dir überall, wo du unterwegs bist. 10 Da befahl Josua den Listenführern im Volk: 11 Geht durch das Lager und befehlt den Leuten: Versorgt euch mit Lebensmitteln; denn in drei Tagen werdet ihr den Jordan hier überschreiten, um in das Land hineinzuziehen und es in Besitz zu nehmen, das der HERR, euer Gott, euch zu eigen gibt. (Dt 3,12) 12 Und den Rubenitern, den Gaditern und dem halben Stamm Manasse sagte Josua: (Jz 4,12) 13 Erinnert euch an das, was Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, euch geboten hat: Der HERR, euer Gott, gewährt euch Ruhe und gibt euch dieses Land.
