1Slovo, kteréž se stalo k Jeremiášovi proti všemu lidu Judskému, léta čtvrtého Joakima syna Joziášova, krále Judského, (jenž jest první rok Nabuchodonozora krále Babylonského),2Kteréž mluvil Jeremiáš prorok ke všemu lidu Judskému, i ke všechněm obyvatelům Jeruzalémským, řka:3Od třináctého léta Joziáše syna Amonova, krále Judského, až do tohoto dne, po těchto třimecítma let, bývalo slovo Hospodinovo ke mně, kteréž jsem vám mluvíval, ráno přivstávaje, a to ustavičně, ale neposlouchali jste.4Posílal také Hospodin k vám všecky slouhy své proroky, ráno přivstávaje, a to ustavičně, (jichžto neposlouchali jste, aniž jste naklonili ucha svého, abyste slyšeli).5Kteříž říkali: Navraťtež se již jeden každý z cesty své zlé a od nešlechetnosti předsevzetí svých, a tak osazujte se v té zemi, kterouž dal Hospodin vám i otcům vašim od věků až na věky.6A nechoďte za bohy cizími, abyste sloužiti měli jim, aniž se jim klanějte, aniž hněvejte mne dílem rukou svých, a neučinímť vám zle.7Ale neposlouchali jste mne, dí Hospodin, abyste jen hněvali mne dílem rukou svých k svému zlému.8Protož takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Proto že jste neuposlechli slov mých,9Aj, já pošli, a pojmu všecky národy půlnoční, dí Hospodin, i k Nabuchodonozorovi králi Babylonskému, služebníku svému, a přivedu je na zemi tuto i na obyvatele její, i na všecky národy tyto okolní, kteréž jako proklaté vyhladím, a způsobím to, aby byli k užasnutí, na odivu, a poustkou věčnou.10Také způsobím to, aby zahynul jim hlas radosti i hlas veselé, hlas ženicha i hlas nevěsty, hluk žernovu i světlo svíce.11I bude všecka země tato pustinou a pouští, a sloužiti budou národové tito králi Babylonskému sedmdesáte let.12Potom pak po vyplnění sedmdesáti let trestati budu na králi Babylonském a na tom národu, dí Hospodin, nepravost jejich, totiž na zemi Kaldejské, tak že obrátím ji v pustiny věčné.13A uvedu na zemi tu všecka slova svá, kteráž jsem mluvil o ní, všecko, což psáno jest v knize této, cožkoli prorokoval Jeremiáš o všech národech.14Když je v službu podrobí, i jiné národy mnohé a krále veliké, tehdáž odplatím jim podlé skutků jejich a podlé činů rukou jejich.15Nebo takto mi řekl Hospodin, Bůh Izraelský: Vezmi kalich vína prchlivosti této z ruky mé, a napájej jím všecky ty národy, k kterýmž já pošli tebe,16Aby pili a potáceli se, anobrž bláznili příčinou meče, kterýž já pošli mezi ně.17I vzal jsem kalich z ruky Hospodinovy, a napájel jsem všecky ty národy, k nimž mne poslal Hospodin,18Jeruzalémské i města země Judské, a krále její i knížata její, abych je oddal v pustinu a v zpuštění, na odivu, i k proklínání tohoto dnešního dne,19Faraona krále Egyptského i služebníky jeho, i knížata jeho, i všecken lid jeho,20I všecku tu směsici, totiž všecky krále země Uz, všecky také krále země Filistinské, i Aškalon, i Gázy, i Akaron, i ostatek Azotu,21Idumejské, i Moábské, i syny Ammon,22I všecky krále Tyrské, i všecky krále Sidonské, i krále krajiny té, kteráž jest při moři,23Dedana a Temu, a Buzu i všecky přebývající v koutech nejzadnějších,24I všecky krále Arabské, i všecky krále té směsice, kteříž bydlí na poušti,25Všecky také krále Zamritské, i všecky krále Elamitské, též všecky krále Médské,26Anobrž všecky krále půlnoční, blízké i daleké, jednoho jako druhého, všecka také království země, kterážkoli jsou na svrchku země. Král pak Sesák píti bude po nich.27A rci jim: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský: Pítež a opojte se, anobrž vyvracejte z sebe, a padejte, tak abyste nepovstali pro meč, kterýž já pošli mezi vás.28Jestliže by pak nechtěli vzíti kalichu z ruky tvé, aby pili, tedy díš jim: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Konečně že píti musíte.29Nebo poněvadž na to město, kteréž nazváno jest od jména mého, já začínám uvozovati zlé věci, a vy abyste bez hodné pomsty byli? Nebudete bez pomsty, nebo já zavolám meče na všecky obyvatele té země, dí Hospodin zástupů.30Protož ty prorokuj proti nim všecka slova tato, a rci jim: Hospodin s výsosti řváti bude, a z příbytku svatosti své vydá hlas svůj, mocně řváti bude z obydlí svého. Křik ponoukajících se, jako presovníků, rozléhati se bude proti všechněm obyvatelům té země,31I průjde hřmot až do konce země. Nebo rozepři má Hospodin s těmi národy, v soud vchází sám se všelikým tělem; bezbožníky vydá pod meč, dí Hospodin.32Takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Aj, bída půjde z národu na národ, a vichřice veliká strhne se od končin země.33I budou zbiti od Hospodina v ten čas od konce země až do konce země; nebudou oplakáni, ani sklizeni, ani pochováni, místo hnoje na svrchku země budou.34Kvělte pastýři a křičte, anobrž válejte se v popele, vy nejznamenitější toho stáda; nebo naplnili se dnové vaši, abyste zbiti byli, a abyste rozptýleni byli, i budete padati jako nádoba drahá.35I zahyne útočiště pastýřům a utíkání nejznamenitějším toho stáda.36Hlas žalostný pastýřů a kvílení nejznamenitějších toho stáda; nebo zkazí Hospodin pastvu jejich.37Zkažena budou i pastviska pokoj mající, pro prchlivost hněvu Hospodinova,38Jako lev opustí jeskyni svou; nebo přijde země jejich na spuštění, pro prchlivost zhoubce a pro prchlivost hněvu jeho.
— Hrozby proti Judsku se naplní - Na lid, který se vzpírá uposlechnout, dolehne Boží soud. Vykonají jej lidé.
1 Slovo, které se stalo k Jeremjášovi o veškerém lidu judském čtvrtého roku vlády Jójakíma, syna Jóšijášova, krále judského, což byl první rok Nebúkadnesara, krále babylónského.2 To slovo prorok Jeremjáš mluvil o veškerém lidu judském a o všech obyvatelích Jeruzaléma:3 „Slovo Hospodinovo se ke mně stávalo od třináctého roku vlády Jóšijáše, syna Amónova, krále judského, až dodnes, tedy dvacet tři léta. Já jsem k vám mluvil, nepřetržitě jsem mluvil, ale vy jste neposlouchali.4 Hospodin k vám posílal všechny své služebníky proroky, nepřetržitě je posílal, ale neposlouchali jste, ucho jste k slyšení nenaklonili.5 Říkávali: ‚Ať se každý odvrátí od své zlé cesty a od svých zlých skutků a budete přebývat v zemi, kterou Hospodin dal vám a vašim otcům od věků na věky.6 Nechoďte za jinými bohy, neslužte jim a neklaňte se jim. Neurážejte mě dílem svých rukou a já s vámi nenaložím zle.‘7 Ale neposlouchali jste mě, je výrok Hospodinův, dílem svých rukou jste mě uráželi, sobě k zlému.“ 8 Proto Hospodin zástupů praví toto: „Že jste neposlouchali má slova,9 hle, já pošlu pro všechny čeledi severu, je výrok Hospodinův, i pro Nebúkadnesara, krále babylónského, svého služebníka, a přivedu je na tuto zemi i na všechny její obyvatele i na všechny tyto okolní pronárody a vyhubím je jako klaté. Způsobím, že budou vzbuzovat úděs a posměch a budou troskami navěky.10 Způsobím jim, že se ztratí hlas veselí a hlas radosti, hlas ženicha a hlas nevěsty, hlas mlýnku i světlo lampy.11 Tak se stane celá tato země troskami a bude budit úděs. Tyto pronárody budou sloužit králi babylónskému po sedmdesát let.12 Až se naplní sedmdesát let, budu stíhat na králi babylónském a na onom pronárodu, totiž na zemi Kaldejců, jejich vinu, je výrok Hospodinův, a způsobím, že bude navěky zpustošena.13 Uvedu na tuto zemi všechna svá slova, která jsem proti ní mluvil, všechno, co je zapsáno v této knize, co prorokoval Jeremjáš proti všem pronárodům.14 I oni budou sloužit četným pronárodům a velkým králům. Odplatím jim podle jejich skutků a podle díla jejich rukou.“

15 Toto mi řekl Hospodin, Bůh Izraele: „Vezmi z mé ruky tuto číši vína rozhořčení a napoj jím všechny pronárody, k nimž tě posílám,16 ať pijí a vrávorají a třeští před mečem, který mezi ně pošlu!“17 Vzal jsem číši z Hospodinovy ruky a napojil jsem všechny pronárody, k nimž mě Hospodin poslal:18 Jeruzalém i judská města, jeho krále, jeho velmože, abych je obrátil v trosky, aby vzbuzovali úděs, posměch a zlořečení, jak je tomu dodnes.19 Napojil jsem i faraóna, krále egyptského, jeho služebníky, jeho velmože a všechen jeho lid20 i všechen přimíšený lid, všechny krále země Úsu, všechny krále země pelištejské, Aškalón, Gázu, Ekrón i pozůstatek lidu ašdódského,21 Edóma, Moába, Amónovce22 i všechny krále Týru, všechny krále Sidónu i krále zámořských ostrovů,23 také Dedána, Tému, Búza a všechny, kdo si vyholují skráně,24 všechny krále Arábie i všechny krále přimíšeného lidu, kteří pobývají v poušti,25 všechny krále Zimrí, všechny krále Élamu i všechny krále Médie,26 všechny krále severu, blízké i vzdálené, jednoho po druhém, i všechna království země, co jich je na zemi. Po nich bude pít král Šéšak. 27 Řekneš jim: „Toto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele: Pijte, opijte se, zvracejte a padněte. Už nepovstanete před mečem, který mezi vás pošlu.“28 Budou-li se zdráhat vzít číši z tvé ruky a pít z ní, řekneš jim: „Toto praví Hospodin zástupů: Musíte pít.29 Hle, v městě, které se nazývá mým jménem, již začínám ono zlo, a vy byste zůstali bez trestu? Nezůstanete bez trestu, neboť povolám meč na všechny obyvatele země, je výrok Hospodina zástupů.“ 30 Ty jim budeš prorokovat všechna tato slova. Řekneš jim: „Hospodin vydá řev z výšiny, ze svého svatého obydlí vydá svůj hlas. Hlasitě řve nad svou nivou – zní to jak výskání těch, kdo lisují víno –, řve na všechny obyvatele země. 31 Hukot vřavy dolehne až do končin země, neboť Hospodin vede spor s pronárody, soudí se sám s veškerým tvorstvem, svévolníky vydá meči, je výrok Hospodinův.“ 32 Toto praví Hospodin zástupů: „Hle, vyjde zlo od pronároda k pronárodu, přižene se veliký vichr z nejodlehlejších koutů země.“ 33 Ti, které Hospodin v onen den skolí, zůstanou ležet od jednoho konce země ke druhému. Nebude se nad nimi naříkat, nebudou sebráni, nebudou pohřbeni, budou jako hnůj na povrchu země. 34 Kvilte, pastýři, a úpějte, válejte se v prachu, vznešení vůdcové stáda! Vaše dny se naplnily, půjdete na porážku, rozpráším vás, padnete, jako když spadne vzácná nádoba. 35 Pro pastýře nebude žádného útočiště, nebude úniku pro vznešené vůdce stáda. 36 Slyš! Úpění pastýřů, kvílení vznešených vůdců stáda, neboť Hospodin pustoší jejich pastvu. 37 Pokojné nivy zajdou Hospodinovým planoucím hněvem. 38 Opouští svůj úkryt jako lvíče. Jejich země bude zpustošena, až se jeho hubící hněv rozpálí, až jeho hněv vzplane.
1Slovo, které Jeremiáš dostal o veškerém judském lidu ve čtvrtém roce vlády judského krále Joakima, syna Jošiášova (což byl první rok babylonského krále Nabukadnezara).[1]2Prorok Jeremiáš veškerému judskému lidu a všem obyvatelům Jeruzaléma řekl:3„Je to už třiadvacet let – od třináctého roku judského krále Jošiáše, syna Amonova, až dodneška – co dostávám slovo Hospodinovo.[2] Znovu a znovu jsem k vám mluvil, ale vy jste neposlouchali.4Hospodin k vám znovu a znovu posílal všechny své služebníky proroky, ale vy jste neposlouchali, vůbec jste si jich nevšímali.5Říkávali: ‚Odvraťte se každý od své zlé cesty a svého zlého jednání, ať můžete žít v zemi, kterou Hospodin dal vám a vašim otcům od věků až navěky.6Nenásledujte cizí bohy, neslužte jim a neklaňte se jim; nepopouzejte mě svými výtvory, ať na vás nedopustím neštěstí!‘7Vy jste mě ale neposlouchali, praví Hospodin, a k vlastnímu neštěstí jste mě popouzeli svými výtvory.8Nuže, toto praví Hospodin zástupů: ‚Protože jste neposlouchali má slova,9hle, povolám a poberu všechny kmeny ze severu, praví Hospodin, a přivedu je i se svým služebníkem, babylonským králem Nabukadnezarem, na tuto zem, na všechny její obyvatele i na všechny národy v okolí. Vyhladím je jako proklaté, aby vzbuzovali děs a posměch; zbude z nich věčné zbořeniště.10Skoncuji s hlasem radosti a veselí, s hlasem ženicha a nevěsty, s hlasem mlýnku i se světlem lampičky.11Z celé této země zbude hrůzná pustina a tyto národy budou po sedmdesát let otročit babylonskému králi.12Až se těch sedmdesát let naplní, potrestám babylonského krále i jeho národ za jejich vinu, praví Hospodin, a nechám Babylonii zpustnout navěky.13Uvalím na tu zem všechny své hrozby, které jsem o ní vyřkl, všechno, co je zapsáno v této knize, všechno, co Jeremiáš prorokoval o všech těch národech.[3]14I oni sami budou otročit mocným národům a velikým králům. Odplatím jim za jejich skutky, za to, co vlastnoručně páchali.‘“
Kalich hněvu
15Hospodin, Bůh Izraele, ke mně promluvil: „Vezmi z mé ruky kalich s vínem hněvu a dej z něj pít všem národům, k nimž tě posílám.16Až se napijí, budou se potácet a blouznit kvůli meči, který na ně sesílám.“17Vzal jsem tedy kalich z Hospodinovy ruky a napojil jím všechny národy, k nimž mě Hospodin poslal:18Jeruzalém a judská města s jejich králi a velmoži, aby z nich zbyly jen trosky budící děs, posměch a nadávky (jak je tomu už dnes);19faraona, vládce Egypta, s jeho dvořany a velmoži i se vším jeho lidem20a všemi přimíšenými cizinci; všechny krále země Úc; všechny krále filištínské země, Aškelon, Gazu, Ekron i ty, kdo zbyli v Ašdodu;21Edom, Moáb i Amonce;22všechny krále Týru a Sidonu; krále zámořských břehů;23Dedana, Temu a Búze; všechny, kteří si vyholují skráně;[4]24všechny krále Arábie; všechny krále směsice národů žijících na poušti;25všechny krále Zimri; všechny krále Elamu; všechny krále Médie;26všechny krále severu, blízké i vzdálené, jednoho po druhém – všechna království země, co jich je na světě. A po nich se napije král Šešak![5]27„Řekni jim: ‚Tak praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele: Pijte, opijte se, pozvracejte se a padněte, že už nevstanete, protože na vás sesílám meč!‘28A kdyby od tebe odmítali ten kalich vzít a napít se, řekni jim – ‚Tak praví Hospodin zástupů: Musíte pít!29Hle, na město, jež nese mé jméno, začínám přivádět neštěstí, a vy byste měli vyváznout? Nevyváznete! Na všechny obyvatele země už svolávám meč, praví Hospodin zástupů.‘30Nuže, prorokuj jim všechna tato slova a řekni jim: ‚Hospodin řve na výsostech, burácí z příbytku své svatosti. Na vlastní stádo řve jako lev, křičí jako ti, kdo víno lisují, na všechny, kdo žijí na zemi.31Po celém světě se šíří hluk boje, neboť Hospodin obžaluje národy; soudí se s každým smrtelníkem a ničemy dává napospas meči. Tak praví Hospodin.‘32Tak praví Hospodin zástupů: ‚Hle, od národu k národu se šíří neštěstí, od nejzazších konců světa se zvedá vichr veliký!‘“33Mrtvoly těch, které Hospodin v onen den pobije, budou rozsety od jednoho konce světa po druhý. Nikdo je neopláče, nikdo je neposbírá ani nepohřbí; zůstanou ležet jako hnůj na zemi.34Kvílejte, pastýři, naříkejte, vůdcové stáda, svíjejte se v prachu! Čas vaší porážky nadešel, padnete jako krásní berani.[6]35Pastýři nebudou mít kam utéct, pro vůdce stáda nebude úniku.36Slyš! To naříkají pastýři, vůdcové stáda kvílejí – Hospodin pustoší jejich pastviny!37Pokojné louky utichnou před žárem Hospodinova hněvu.38Jako lev vyjde ze svého příbytku a jejich zem se stane pustinou před tím krutým žárem – před žárem jeho hněvu!

(Jr 36,1)2Der Prophet Jeremia redete zum ganzen Volk von Juda und zu allen Bewohnern Jerusalems. Er sagte:3Seit dem dreizehnten Jahr Joschijas, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, bis zum heutigen Tag, also dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang, ist an mich das Wort des HERRN ergangen und ich habe zu euch geredet, unermüdlich geredet. Ihr aber habt nicht gehört.4Der HERR aber hat alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt, unermüdlich gesandt. Ihr aber habt nicht gehört und euer Ohr nicht geneigt, um zu hören. (Jr 11,7; Jr 26,5; Jr 44,4)5Er hat gesagt: Kehrt doch um, jeder von seinem schlechten Weg und der Bosheit eurer Taten; dann dürft ihr auf dem Ackerboden bleiben, den der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat seit jeher und für immer.6Lauft nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen und euch vor ihnen niederzuwerfen, und erzürnt mich nicht durch das Werk eurer Hände, damit ich euch nicht Schlimmes antun muss!7Aber ihr habt nicht auf mich gehört - Spruch des HERRN -, um mich zu erzürnen durch das Werk eurer Hände, zu eurem eigenen Schaden.8Darum - so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Weil ihr nicht auf meine Worte gehört habt,9darum sende ich hin und hole alle Stämme des Nordens herbei - Spruch des HERRN -, auch Nebukadnezzar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht. Ich lasse sie über dieses Land und seine Bewohner kommen und über alle diese Völker ringsum. Ich vollziehe an ihnen den Bann und mache sie zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zu ewigen Trümmern.[1]10Ich lasse bei ihnen aufhören den Jubelruf und den Freudenruf, den Ruf des Bräutigams und den Ruf der Braut, das Geräusch der Handmühle und das Licht der Lampe. (Jr 7,34)11Dieses ganze Land wird zum Trümmerfeld und zu einem Bild des Entsetzens und diese Völker werden dem König von Babel siebzig Jahre lang dienen. (Jr 29,10)12Sind aber die siebzig Jahre vorüber, dann suche ich den König von Babel und jenes Volk heim für ihre Schuld - Spruch des HERRN - und auch das Land der Chaldäer, indem ich es für immer zur schaurigen Wüste mache.13Ich lasse über jenes Land all das kommen, was ich ihm angedroht habe, alles, was in diesem Buch aufgezeichnet ist, was Jeremia über alle Völker prophezeit hat.14Denn auch sie werden mächtigen Völkern und großen Königen dienen müssen. So vergelte ich ihnen entsprechend ihren Taten und dem Tun ihrer Hände. (Jr 27,7)
BECHER DES ZORNS FÜR DIE VÖLKER
15Ja, so hat der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu mir gesprochen: Nimm diesen Becher voll Zornwein aus meiner Hand und gib ihn allen Völkern zu trinken, zu denen ich dich sende!16Trinken sollen sie, taumeln und torkeln vor dem Schwert, das ich unter sie schicke.17Da nahm ich den Becher aus der Hand des HERRN und ließ alle Völker trinken, zu denen der HERR mich sandte: (Iz 51,17)18Jerusalem und die Städte Judas - samt seinen Königen und Fürsten -, um sie zu Trümmerhaufen zu machen, zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zum Fluch, wie es heute ist,19den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Höflingen und Fürsten und seinem ganzen Volk,20das gesamte Völkergemisch, alle Könige des Landes Uz, alle Könige des Philisterlandes, Aschkelon, Gaza, Ekron und den Rest von Aschdod,21Edom, Moab und die Ammoniter,22alle Könige von Tyrus, alle Könige von Sidon sowie die Könige der Inseln jenseits des Meeres,23Dedan, Tema, Bus und alle mit gestutztem Haar,24alle Könige Arabiens und alle Könige des Völkergemisches, die in der Wüste wohnen,25alle Könige von Simri, von Elam und Medien,26auch alle Könige des Nordens, die in der Nähe und die in der Ferne, einen nach dem andern, ja, alle Reiche der Welt, die es auf der Erde gibt; und zuletzt soll der König von Scheschach trinken.27Sag zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Trinkt, berauscht euch und speit, stürzt hin und steht nicht mehr auf vor dem Schwert, das ich unter euch schicke!28Weigern sie sich aber, den Becher aus deiner Hand anzunehmen und zu trinken, dann sag zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ihr werdet trinken!29Denn siehe, bei der Stadt, über der mein Name ausgerufen ist, beginne ich mit dem Unheil und da solltet ihr ungestraft bleiben? Nein, ihr werdet nicht ungestraft bleiben; denn ich rufe das Schwert gegen alle Bewohner der Erde - Spruch des HERRN der Heerscharen.30Du aber sollst ihnen alle diese Worte prophezeien und zu ihnen sagen:
Der HERR brüllt von der Höhe herab, / aus seiner heiligen Wohnung lässt er seine Stimme erschallen.
Laut brüllt er über seine Flur / und stimmt wie die Keltertreter ein Jauchzen an / über alle Bewohner der Erde. (Ž 29,1; Jl 4,16; Am 1,2)31Der Schall dringt bis ans Ende der Erde, / denn der HERR hat einen Rechtsstreit mit den Völkern;
er hält Gericht über alles Fleisch. / Die Schuldigen liefert er dem Schwert aus / - Spruch des HERRN.32So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen:
Siehe, Unheil geht aus von Volk zu Volk, / ein gewaltiger Sturm bricht los / von den Grenzen der Erde.33Und die vom HERRN Erschlagenen werden daliegen an jenem Tag / von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern.
Man beklagt sie nicht, / man sammelt sie nicht und begräbt sie nicht; / sie werden zum Dünger auf dem Acker. (Jr 9,21)34Klagt, ihr Hirten, und schreit; / wälzt euch im Staub, ihr Herren der Herde!
Denn die Zeit ist gekommen, / dass ihr geschlachtet werdet;

1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), (2Kr 24,1; Jr 1,3; Jr 36,1)2which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:3“For twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken persistently to you, but you have not listened. The Cup of the Lord’s Wrath
15Thus the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup of the wine of wrath, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. And after them the king of Babylon[1] shall drink. Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.30Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes , against all the inhabitants of the earth.31A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.32Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.33And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.34Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes , ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.35And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard : for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.37And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.38He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
