1Opět stalo se slovo Hospodinovo ke mně, řkoucí:2Synu člověčí, obrať tvář svou proti hoře Seir, a prorokuj proti ní.3A rci jí: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Aj, já jsem proti tobě, horo Seir, a vztáhnu ruku svou na tebe, a obrátím tě v hroznou poušť.4Města tvá v poušť obrátím, a ty budeš pustinou, i zvíš, že já jsem Hospodin,5Proto že máš nepřátelství věčné, a rozptyluješ syny Izraelské mečem v čas bídy jejich, v čas dokonání nepravosti.6Protož živť jsem já, praví Panovník Hospodin, že k zabití připravím tě, a krev tě stihati bude. Poněvadž krve vylévání v nenávisti nemáš, také tě krev stihati bude.7Obrátím, pravím, horu Seir v hroznou poušť, a vypléním z ní jdoucího přes ni i vracujícího se.8A naplním hory její zbitými jejími; na pahrbcích tvých i v údolích tvých, i při všech potocích tvých zbití mečem padati budou.9V pustiny věčné obrátím tě, tak že města tvá nebudou zase vzdělána, i zvíte, že já jsem Hospodin.10Proto že říkáš: Tito dva národové a tyto dvě země mé budou, a budeme dědičně vládnouti tou, v níž Hospodin přebýval,11Protož živť jsem já, praví Panovník Hospodin, žeť učiním podlé hněvu tvého a podlé závisti tvé, kterouž jsi prokázala z nenávisti své proti nim. I budu poznán od nich, když tě budu souditi.12A zvíš, že já Hospodin slyšel jsem všecka hanění tvá, kteráž jsi mluvila o horách Izraelských, řkuci: Zpuštěnyť jsou, námť jsou dány k sežrání.13Nebo jste se honosili proti mně ústy svými, a množili proti mně slova svá, což jsem sám slyšel.14Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Jakž se veselí všecka ta země, tak pustinu učiním z tebe.15Jakž se veselíš nad dědictvím domu Izraelského, proto že zpustl, tak učiním i tobě. Pustinou budeš, ó horo Seir, i všecka země Idumejská naskrze, i zvědíť, že já jsem Hospodin.
— Výrok proti hoře Seíru - Seír-Edóm je typem odvěkého nepřítele Izraele, ale Hospodin se svého lidu zastane a Seír bude zpustošen.
1 I stalo se ke mně slovo Hospodinovo:2 „Lidský synu, postav se proti Seírskému pohoří a prorokuj proti němu.3 Řekni: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Chystám se na tebe, Seírské pohoří. Napřáhnu na tebe ruku a obrátím tě ve zpustošený a úděs budící kraj. 4 Z tvých měst nadělám trosky, staneš se zpustošeným krajem. I poznáš, že já jsem Hospodin. 5 Chováš odvěké nepřátelství, vydalo jsi syny izraelské napospas meči v čase jejich běd, v čase, kdy svou nepravostí přivodili konec.6 Proto, jakože jsem živ, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina, připravím ti krveprolití a krev tě bude pronásledovat; jelikož jsi nemělo v nenávisti krev, krev tě bude pronásledovat.7 Seírské pohoří obrátím v úděsně zpustošený kraj a vymýtím odtud každého, kdo tudy bude procházet tam či zpět.8 Jeho hory naplním skolenými; mečem skolení padnou na tvých pahorcích, v tvých údolích a u všech tvých potoků. 9 Obrátím tě ve věčně zpustošený kraj, tvá města už nebudou obývána. I poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin. 10 Protože jsi říkalo: ‚Oba tyto pronárody a obě země budou moje a obsadíme je, i když je tam Hospodin,‘11 proto, jakože jsem živ, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina, budu jednat podle tvého hněvu a tvé závisti, jak jsi jednalo ve své nenávisti vůči nim, a dám se mezi nimi poznat, až tě budu soudit.12 I poznáš, že já, Hospodin, jsem slyšel všechna tvá znevažování, která jsi vyřklo proti izraelským horám. Říkalo jsi: ‚Jsou zpustošeny, jsou nám vydány za pokrm!‘ 13 Vyvyšovali jste se nade mne svými ústy a zavalili jste mě svými slovy. Já jsem to slyšel.“ 14 Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: „Co bylo radostí celé země, bude zpustošeno; tak s tebou naložím.15 Jako ses radovalo nad tím, že dědictví domu izraelského bylo zpustošeno, tak učiním tobě. Budeš zpustošeno, Seírské pohoří, i celý Edóm se vším všudy. I poznají, že já jsem Hospodin.“

Tehdy poznáš, že já jsem Hospodin.5Kvůli své dávné nenávisti jsi vydalo syny Izraele napospas meči, když přišel čas jejich neštěstí, čas zúčtování s jejich vinami.[2]6Proto, jakože jsem živ, praví Panovník Hospodin, vydám tě krveprolití a krev se ti bude lepit na paty. Když ti nevadilo krveprolití, bude se ti krev lepit na paty!7Obrátím pohoří Seír ve zpustošenou pustinu a zahubím každého, kdo by tudy šel nebo se tudy navracel.8Naplním tvé hory mrtvolami. Na tvých stráních, v údolích i ve všech roklích budou padat mečem pobití.9Způsobím, že z tebe zbude věčná pustina; tvá města zůstanou neobydlena. Tehdy poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin.10Říkáš: ‚Oba ty národy mi patří, obě ty země obsadím‘[3] – jenže tam bydlí Hospodin!11Proto, jakože jsem živ, praví Panovník Hospodin, tvůj nenávistný hněv a závist vůči nim ti odplatím a dám se mezi nimi poznat, až tě budu soudit.12Tehdy poznáš, že já Hospodin jsem slyšel všechny tvé urážky proti izraelským horám. Prý: ‚Je z nich pustina, můžeme je klidně spolykat!‘13Takovými řečmi jste se chlubili proti mně, chrlili jste svá slova proti mně. Já jsem to ale slyšel.14Tak praví Panovník Hospodin: K radosti celého světa tě zpustoším!15Tvou radost nad zpustošením dědictví domu Izraele ti odplatím: Budeš zpustošeno, pohoří Seír, i celý Edom se vším všudy! Tehdy poznají, že já jsem Hospodin.“

Siehe, ich gehe gegen dich vor, / Bergland von Seïr.
Ich strecke meine Hand gegen dich aus / und mache dich zur Wüste und Öde.4Deine Städte lege ich in Trümmer / und du sollst zur Wüste werden.
Dann wirst du erkennen, / dass ich der HERR bin.5Weil du eine ewige Feindschaft hattest und die Söhne Israels zur Zeit ihres Unglücks, zur Zeit der endgültigen Abrechnung, der Gewalt des Schwertes ausgeliefert hast, (Ž 137,7)6darum - so wahr ich lebe, Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn - mache ich dich zu Blut und Blut soll dich verfolgen. Wahrhaftig, du hast Blut gehasst; darum soll Blut dich verfolgen. (Zj 16,6)7Ich mache das Bergland von Seïr zu Ödland und Wüste und merze aus ihm aus, was hin- und herzieht.8Ich fülle seine Berghänge mit seinen Erschlagenen; auf deinen Hügeln, in deinen Tälern und all deinen Schluchten werden vom Schwert Erschlagene fallen. (Ez 6,3; Ez 31,7)9Zum Ödland für immer mache ich dich, deine Städte sollen nicht mehr bewohnt sein. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.10Weil du sagst: Die beiden Völker und die beiden Länder gehören mir; sie sind mein Besitz!, obwohl doch der HERR dort ist,11darum - so wahr ich lebe, Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn - werde ich deinem Zorn und deiner Leidenschaft entsprechend tun, was du aus deinem Hass heraus unter ihnen getan hast. Ich gebe mich unter ihnen zu erkennen, wenn ich dich richte.12Dann wirst du erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. Ich habe all dein Schmähen gehört, als du gegen die Berghänge Israels gesprochen hast: Sie sind völlig verödet. Sie sind uns zum Fraß gegeben.13So habt ihr mit eurem Maul gegen mich groß getan und euer Reden war frech gegen mich; ich habe es selbst gehört.14So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Wie doch das ganze Land sich freut, dass ich dich zur Wüste mache:15So wie du dich freust am Erbbesitz des Hauses Israel, weil er als Wüste daliegt, so werde ich an dir handeln; das Bergland von Seïr und ganz Edom insgesamt werden zur Wüste werden. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
