1Tedy opět prchlivost Hospodinova popudila se proti Izraelovi; nebo byl ponukl satan Davida na ně, řka: Jdi, sečti lid Izraelský a Judský.2Protož řekl král Joábovi, hejtmanu vojska svého: Projdi i hned všecka pokolení Izraelská od Dan až k Bersabé, a sečtěte lid, abych věděl počet jeho.3Ale Joáb řekl králi: Přidejž Hospodin Bůh tvůj k lidu, jakž ho koli mnoho, stokrát více, a to aby oči pána mého krále viděly. Ale proč pán můj král jest toho tak žádostiv?4A však přemohla řeč králova Joába i knížata vojska. Protož vyšel Joáb a knížata vojska od tváři královy, aby sečtli lid Izraelský.5A přepravivše se přes Jordán, položili se při Aroer po pravé straně města, kteréž jest u prostřed potoka Gád, a při Jazer.6Potom přišli do Galád a do země dolejší nové, odkudž šli do Dan Jáhan a do okolí Sidonského.7Přišli také ku pevnosti Týru, a ke všem městům Hevejských a Kananejských; odkudž šli na poledne země Judské do Bersabé.8A když schodili všecku zemi, přišli po přeběhnutí devíti měsíců a dvadcíti dní do Jeruzaléma.9I dal Joáb počet sečteného lidu králi. Bylo pak lidu Izraelského osmkrát sto tisíc mužů silných, kteříž mohli vytrhnouti meč k bitvě. Mužů také Judských pětkrát sto tisíc.10Potom padlo to těžce na srdce Davidovi, když již sečtl lid. I řekl David Hospodinu: Zhřešilť jsem těžce, že jsem to učinil, ale nyní, ó Hospodine, odejmi, prosím, nepravost služebníka svého, nebť jsem velmi bláznivě učinil.11Když pak vstal David ráno, stalo se slovo Hospodinovo k Gádovi proroku, vidoucímu Davidovu, řkoucí:12Jdi a rci Davidovi: Toto praví Hospodin: Trojíť věci podávám, vyvol sobě jednu z nich, kteroužť bych učinil.13Protož přišed Gád k Davidovi, oznámil mu to, a řekl jemu: Chceš-li, aby přišel na tebe hlad za sedm let v zemi tvé? čili abys za tři měsíce utíkal před nepřátely svými, a oni aby tě honili? čili aby za tři dni byl mor v zemi tvé? Pomysliž spěšně, a viz, jakou mám odpověd dáti tomu, kterýž mne poslal.14I řekl David k Gádovi: Úzkostmi sevřín jsem náramně; nechať, prosím, upadneme v ruku Hospodinovu, neboť jsou mnohá slitování jeho, jediné ať v ruce lidské neupadám.15A tak uvedl Hospodin mor na Izraele od jitra až do času uloženého, a zemřelo jich z lidu od Dan až do Bersabé sedmdesáte tisíc mužů.16A když vztáhl anděl ruku svou na Jeruzalém, aby hubil jej, litoval Hospodin toho zlého, a řekl andělu, kterýž hubil lid: Dostiť jest, již přestaň. Anděl pak Hospodinův byl u humna Aravny Jebuzejského.17I mluvil David Hospodinu, když uzřel anděla, an bije lid, a řekl: Aj, já jsem zhřešil, a já jsem neprávě učinil, ale tito, jsouce jako ovce, co učinili? Nechť jest, prosím, ruka tvá proti mně a proti domu otce mého.18Potom navrátiv se Gád k Davidovi v ten den, řekl jemu: Vstup a vzdělej Hospodinu oltář na humně Aravny Jebuzejského.19I šel David vedlé řeči Gádovy, jakož byl přikázal Hospodin.20A vyhlédaje Aravna, uzřel krále s služebníky jeho, an jdou k němu; protož vyšed Aravna, poklonil se králi tváří svou až k zemi.21I řekl Aravna: Proč přišel pán můj král k služebníku svému? Odpověděl David: Abych koupil od tebe humno toto, na němž bych vzdělal oltář Hospodinu, aby přestala rána tato v lidu.22Opět řekl Aravna Davidovi: Nechť vezme a obětuje pán můj král, což se mu za dobré vidí. Aj, teď volové k oběti zápalné, a smyky vozové i přípravy volů na drva.23Všecky ty věci dával králík Aravna králi. Řekl ještě Aravna králi: Hospodin Bůh tvůj zalibiž tě sobě.24Řekl pak král Aravnovi: Nikoli, ale raději koupím od tebe, a zaplatím, aniž budu obětovati Hospodinu Bohu svému oběti zápalné darem dané. A tak koupil David humno a voly za padesáte lotů stříbra.25A vzdělav tu David oltář Hospodinu, obětoval oběti zápalné a pokojné. I byl milostiv Hospodin zemi, a přestala zhouba v Izraeli.
DAVIDOVO SČÍTÁNÍ LIDU - Král svým činem rozhněval Hospodina, znovu však nalézá milost; na místě, kde se zastavila morová rána, dává vybudovat - oltář.
1 Hospodin znovu vzplanul proti Izraeli hněvem a podnítil Davida proti nim: „Jdi, sečti Izraele a Judu!“2 Král poručil Jóabovi, veliteli vojska, který byl s ním: „Obejdi všechny izraelské kmeny od Danu až k Beer-šebě. Spočítejte lid, chci znát počet lidu.“ 3 Jóab králi namítl: „Nechť Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, zvětší lid, jak chce, třeba stokrát. Kéž na vlastní oči to král, můj pán, vidí. Ale proč král, můj pán, o to tak stojí?“4 Královo rozhodnutí bylo však pro Jóaba a velitele vojska nezvratné. Jóab s veliteli vojska vyšel od krále, aby sečetli ten lid, Izraele.5 Překročili Jordán a utábořili se v Aróeru, napravo od města, jež je uprostřed Gádského údolí, směrem k Jaezeru.6 Pak přišli do Gileádu a do země Tachtím-chodší a přišli do Dan-jaanu a do okolí Sidónu.7 Přišli do pevnosti Sóru a do všech měst chivejských a kenaanských, pak šli na jih Judy k Beer-šebě.8 Obešli celou zemi a po uplynutí devíti měsíců a dvaceti dnů přišli do Jeruzaléma.9 Jóab králi odevzdal součet branného lidu: V Izraeli bylo osm set tisíc bojeschopných mužů, schopných tasit meč, a judských mužů bylo pět set tisíc.10 Ale potom měl David výčitky svědomí, že dal lid sečíst. David volal k Hospodinu: „Velmi jsem zhřešil, že jsem to učinil. Nyní, Hospodine, sejmi prosím ze svého služebníka vinu; počínal jsem si jako velký pomatenec.“11 Ráno, když David vstal, stalo se slovo Hospodinovo k proroku Gádovi, Davidovu vidoucímu:12 „Jdi a promluv k Davidovi: Toto praví Hospodin: Předkládám ti trojí; jedno z toho si vyber a tak s tebou naložím.“13 Gád přišel k Davidovi a oznámil mu: „Má na tebe dolehnout sedm let hladu v tvé zemi? Nebo chceš tři měsíce utíkat před svými protivníky, kteří tě budou pronásledovat? Anebo má řádit ve tvé zemi po tři dny mor? Nuže tedy rozvaž, co mám vyřídit tomu, který mě poslal.“ 14 David Gádovi odvětil: „Je mi velmi úzko. Nechť tedy prosím padneme do rukou Hospodinu, neboť jeho slitování je nesmírné, jen ať nepadnu do rukou lidských.“15 Hospodin tedy dopustil na Izraele mor od toho jitra až do určeného času. I pomřelo z lidu od Danu až k Beer-šebě sedmdesát tisíc mužů.16 Pak vztáhl anděl svou ruku nad Jeruzalém, aby v něm šířil zkázu. Ale Hospodina pojala nad tím zlem lítost. I řekl andělu, jenž šířil mezi lidem zkázu: „Dost, již přestaň.“ Hospodinův anděl byl právě u humna Aravny Jebúsejského. 17 Když David uviděl anděla bijícího lid, pravil Hospodinu: „Hle, já jsem zhřešil a já jsem se provinil; co však učinily tyto ovce? Buď tedy tvá ruka proti mně a proti domu mého otce!“ 18 Téhož dne přišel Gád opět k Davidovi a řekl mu: „Vystup a postav Hospodinu na humně Aravny Jebúsejského oltář.“19 David vystoupil podle Gádova slova, jak Hospodin přikázal.20 Aravna vyhlížel a spatřil krále s jeho služebníky, že jdou k němu. I vyšel Aravna a poklonil se králi tváří k zemi.21 Aravna pravil: „Proč přicházíš, králi, můj pane, k svému otroku?“ David odpověděl: „Abych od tebe koupil humno k vybudování oltáře Hospodinu; zde byla od lidu odvrácena pohroma.“22 Aravna pravil Davidovi: „Nechť král, můj pán, vezme a obětuje, co uzná za dobré. Tu je dobytek k zápalné oběti a jako dříví smyky a dobytčí jha.“23 To vše dával král Aravna králi. Aravna ještě králi řekl: „Kéž má v tobě Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, zalíbení.“24 Král Aravnovi odvětil: „Nikoli, odkoupím to od tebe za kupní cenu. Hospodinu, svému Bohu, nemohu obětovat zápalné oběti darované.“ David tedy koupil to humno i ten skot za padesát šekelů stříbra.25I vybudoval tam David Hospodinu oltář a obětoval zápalné a pokojné oběti. Hospodin prosby za zemi přijal a pohroma byla od Izraele odvrácena.
1Hospodin znovu vzplanul hněvem proti Izraeli. „Jdi, sečti Izrael a Judu,“ podnítil proti nim Davida.2Král tedy řekl veliteli svého vojska Joábovi: „Obejdi všechny izraelské kmeny od Danu až po Beer-šebu. Sečtěte lid – chci znát jeho počet.“3Joáb ale králi namítl: „Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, kéž rozmnoží lid před zraky mého pána a krále nastokrát! Proč bys ale dělal něco takového?“[1]4Proti královskému slovu ale Joáb ani velitelé vojska nic nezmohli, a tak se od krále vydali sčítat lid Izraele.5Překročili Jordán a utábořili se poblíž Aroeru, v údolí jižně od města. Prošli Gád a pokračovali k Jaezeru.6Přišli do Gileádu, do kraje Tachtim-chodši a dále do Dan-jaanu. Obešli Sidon7a pokračovali k týrské pevnosti a ke všem hivejským a kanaánským městům, odkud se vydali na jih k judskému Negevu do Beer-šeby.8Po devíti měsících a dvaceti dnech obešli celou zem a vrátili se do Jeruzaléma.9Joáb předal králi seznam sečteného lidu: Izrael čítal 800 000 udatných mužů schopných boje. Judských mužů bylo 500 000.10Po tom sčítání lidu ale Davida začalo trápit svědomí. „Spáchal jsem veliký hřích!“ volal David k Hospodinu. „Prosím tě, Hospodine, odpusť vinu svého služebníka! Zachoval jsem se jako hrozný hlupák.“11Ráno, když David vstal, dostal Davidův vidoucí,[2] prorok Gád, slovo Hospodinovo:12„Jdi a promluv k Davidovi: Tak praví Hospodin – Nabízím ti trojí trest. Vyber si jeden a ten ti dám.“13Gád tedy přišel k Davidovi a řekl mu: „Mají na tvou zem přijít tři roky[3] hladu? Nebo chceš být tři měsíce pronásledován a prchat před nepřáteli? Anebo má být ve tvé zemi tři dny mor? Teď se rozmysli a uvaž, jak mám odpovědět Tomu, který mě posílá.“14„Je mi tak úzko!“ odpověděl David Gádovi. „Raději ať padneme do rukou Hospodinových, neboť jeho slitování je nesmírné. Jen ať nepadnu do rukou lidem.“15Hospodin tedy na Izrael dopustil mor od toho rána až do určeného času. Od Danu po Beer-šebu zemřelo z lidu 70 000 mužů.16Když pak anděl vztáhl ruku, aby hubil Jeruzalém, Hospodina nad tím neštěstím pojala lítost a řekl andělovi hubícímu lid: „Dost už, zadrž!“ Hospodinův anděl byl právě u mlatu Aravny Jebusejského.
David staví oltář
17Když David viděl, jak anděl pobíjí lid, řekl Hospodinu: „To přece já jsem zhřešil, to já jsem se provinil! Co ale provedly tyto ovečky? Ať tvá ruka dolehne na mě a na mou rodinu!“18Ještě téhož dne k Davidovi přišel Gád se slovy: „Jdi a postav Hospodinu oltář na mlatu Aravny Jebusejského.“19David tedy poslechl Gádovo slovo a šel, jak Hospodin přikázal.20Aravna vyhlédl ven, a když uviděl, že k němu míří král se svou družinou, vyšel z domu a poklonil se králi až k zemi.21„Proč můj pán a král přichází za svým služebníkem?“ zeptal se Aravna. „Chci od tebe koupit ten mlat,“ odpověděl David. „Postavím na něm oltář Hospodinu, aby se ta rána mezi lidem zastavila.“22Aravna mu řekl: „Jen ať si můj královský pán vezme a obětuje, co se mu zlíbí. Zde je skot k oběti a zde smyky a jha na dříví.23To vše dává Aravna[4] králi.“ A dodal: „Kéž Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, ráčí přijmout tvoji oběť.“24„To ne,“ odpověděl král Aravnovi. „Koupím to od tebe za plnou cenu. Přece Hospodinu, svému Bohu, nepřinesu oběť, která je zadarmo.“ A tak David koupil ten mlat i ten skot za 50 šekelů[5] stříbra.25Potom tam postavil oltář Hospodinu a přinesl zápalné i pokojné oběti. Hospodin vyslyšel modlitby za zemi, a tak se ta rána od Izraele odvrátila.

(Dt 28,21)16Als der Engel seine Hand gegen Jerusalem ausstreckte, um es ins Verderben zu stürzen, reute den HERRN das Unheil und er sagte zu dem Engel, der das Volk ins Verderben stürzte: Es ist jetzt genug, lass deine Hand sinken! Der Engel war gerade bei der Tenne des Jebusiters Arauna. (Ex 10,16; Nu 22,34; Ez 18,4)18Am gleichen Tag kam Gad zu David und sagte zu ihm: Geh hinauf und errichte dem HERRN auf der Tenne des Jebusiters Arauna einen Altar![4] (1Pa 22,1; 2Pa 3,1)19David ging hinauf, wie es Gad gesagt und der HERR befohlen hatte. The Lord’s Judgment of David’s Sin
10But David’s heart struck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O LORD, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” (1S 13,13; 1S 24,5; 2S 12,13)11And when David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, (1S 9,9; 1S 22,5)12“Go and say to David, ‘Thus says the LORD, Three things I offer[5] you. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.’”13So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him, “Shall three[6] years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now consider, and decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.” (1Pa 21,12)14Then David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.” (Ž 119,156)15So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning until the appointed time. And there died of the people from Dan to Beersheba 70,000 men. (2S 24,2; 1Pa 27,24)16And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented from the calamity and said to the angel who was working destruction among the people, “It is enough; now stay your hand.” And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. David Builds an Altar
18And Gad came that day to David and said to him, “Go up, raise an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.” (2Pa 3,1)19So David went up at Gad’s word, as the LORD commanded.20And when Araunah looked down, he saw the king and his servants coming on toward him. And Araunah went out and paid homage to the king with his face to the ground.21And Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David said, “To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be averted from the people.” (Nu 16,48; Nu 16,50)22Then Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Here are the oxen for the burnt offering and the threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood. (1Kr 19,21)23All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king.” And Araunah said to the king, “May the LORD your God accept you.” (Dt 33,11; Ž 20,3)24But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels[7] of silver.25And David built there an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.5And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:6Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtimhodshi; and they came to Danjaan, and about to Zidon,7And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beersheba.8So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.9And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.10And David' heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.11For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David' seer, saying,12Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things ; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.13So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days'pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.14And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.15So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.16And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.17And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father' house.18And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.19And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.20And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.21And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.22And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.23All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.24And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.25And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
