1 Potom poslal Chíram král Tyrský posly k Davidovi, a dříví cedrového a zedníky i tesaře, aby stavěli jemu dům. 2 I poznal David, že ho potvrdil Hospodin za krále nad Izraelem, a že zvýšil království jeho pro lid svůj Izraelský. 3 Pojal pak David ještě ženy v Jeruzalémě, a zplodil David více synů a dcer. 4 A tato jsou jména těch, kteříž se jemu zrodili v Jeruzalémě: Sammua, Sobab, Nátan a Šalomoun, 5 Též Ibchar, Elisua, Elfelet, 6 Za tím Noga, Nefeg, Jafia, 7 Elisama, Beeliada a Elifelet. 8 V tom uslyšavše Filistinští, že by pomazán byl David za krále nade vším Izraelem, vytáhli všickni Filistinští hledati Davida. O čemž uslyšav David, vytáhl proti nim. 9 Nebo když Filistinští přišli, a rozprostřeli se v údolí Refaim, 10 Radil se David s Bohem, řka: Potáhnu-li proti Filistinským, a dáš-li je v ruku mou? Odpověděl jemu Hospodin: Táhni, a dám je v ruku tvou. 11 Tedy vtrhli do Balperazim. I porazil je tam David a řekl: Protrhlť jest Bůh nepřátely mé rukou mou, jako vody protrhují břehy. A protož nazváno jméno místa toho Balperazim. 12 Nebo nechali tam bohů svých. I přikázal David, aby je spálili. 13 Ale Filistinští sebravše se znovu, rozprostřeli se v tom údolí. 14 Pročež David radil se opět s Bohem. I řekl jemu Bůh: Nepřistupuj k nim po zadu; odvrať se od nich, abys na ně trefil naproti moruším. 15 A když uslyšíš, že šustí vrchové moruší, tedy vytáhneš k bitvě; nebo vyšel Bůh před tebou, aby porazil vojska Filistinská. 16 I učinil David tak, jakž mu byl přikázal Bůh, a porazili vojska Filistinská od Gabaon až do Gázera. 17 A tak rozešla se pověst o Davidovi do všech zemí, a způsobil Hospodin to, že se ho báli všickni národové.

David o tom uslyšel a vytáhl proti nim. 9 Pelištejci přitáhli a vpadli do doliny Refájců. 10 David se doptával Boha: „Mám proti Pelištejcům vytáhnout? Vydáš mi je do rukou?“ Hospodin mu odpověděl: „Vytáhni, vydám ti je do rukou!“ 11 Vystoupili tedy do Baal-perasímu a tam je David pobil. David prohlásil: „Bůh jako prudké vody prolomil mým prostřednictvím řady mých nepřátel.“ Proto pojmenovali to místo Baal-perasím (to je Pán průlomu). 12 Pelištejci tam zanechali své bohy a David je dal spálit ohněm. 13 Pelištejci potom znovu vpadli do doliny. 14 David se opět doptával Boha. Bůh mu odpověděl: „Netáhni za nimi. Obejdi je a napadni je směrem od balzámovníků. 15 Jakmile uslyšíš v korunách balzámovníků šelest kroků, vyrazíš do boje, neboť Bůh vyjde před tebou a pobije tábor Pelištejců.“ 16 David vykonal, co mu Bůh přikázal. Pobili tábor Pelištejců od Gibeónu až do Gezeru. 17 David se stal proslulým ve všech zemích. Hospodin způsobil, že strach z něho dolehl na všechny národy.

Obejdi je zezadu a vytáhni proti nim od moruší. 15 Až uslyšíš v korunách moruší šelest kroků, vytáhneš do boje, neboť před tebou vytáhl Bůh, aby porazil vojsko Filištínů.“ 16 David učinil, jak mu Bůh přikázal, a tak poráželi filištínské vojsko od Gibeonu až po Gezer. 17 Davidova pověst se šířila po všech zemích a Hospodin způsobil, že se ho bály všechny národy.

Davids Sieg über die Philister

8 Die Philister hörten, dass David zum König von ganz Israel gesalbt worden war. Da zogen alle herauf, um David gefangen zu nehmen. David erfuhr davon und zog ihnen entgegen. (2S 5,17) 9 Als die Philister herankamen und in der Rafaïterebene umherstreiften, (2S 23,13) 10 befragte David Gott: Soll ich die Philister angreifen? Wirst du sie in meine Hand geben? Der HERR antwortete ihm: Greif sie an, ich will sie in deine Hand geben. 11 Da zog David nach Baal-Perazim. Dort schlug er die Philister und sagte: Gott hat durch meine Hand die Reihen meiner Feinde durchbrochen, wie Wasser durchbricht. Deshalb nennt man jenen Ort Baal-Perazim, Herr der Durchbrüche. (2S 5,11) 2 And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel. 3 And David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David fathered more sons and daughters. 4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, (1Pa 3,5) 5 Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet, 6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 7 Elishama, Beeliada and Eliphelet. 8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went out against them. 9 Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the Valley of Rephaim. (1Pa 11,15; 1Pa 14,13) 10 And David inquired of God, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.” 11 And he went up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them down there. And David said, “God has broken through^[1] my enemies by my hand, like a bursting flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim. 12 And they left their gods there, and David gave command, and they were burned. 13 And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley. (1Pa 14,9) 14 And when David again inquired of God, God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; go around and come against them opposite the balsam trees. (1Pa 14,16) 15 And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.” 16 And David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer. 17 And the fame of David went out into all lands, and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
