1Smí někdo z vás, maje při s druhým, souditi se před nepravými, a ne raději před svatými?2Nevíte-liž, že svatí svět souditi budou? I poněvadž od vás souzen býti má svět, kterakž tedy nehodni jste těch nejmenších věcí rozsuzovati?3Zdaliž nevíte, že anděly souditi budeme? Co pak tyto časné věci?4Protož když byste měli míti soud o tyto časné věci, těmi, kteříž nejzadnější jsou v církvi, soud osaďte.5K zahanbeníť vašemu to pravím. Tak-liž není mezi vámi moudrého ani jednoho, kterýž by mohl rozsouditi mezi bratrem a bratrem svým?6Ale bratr s bratrem soudí se, a to před nevěřícími?7Již tedy konečně nedostatek mezi vámi jest, že soudy máte mezi sebou. Proč raději křivdy netrpíte? Proč raději škody nebéřete?8Nýbrž vy křivdu činíte, a k škodě přivodíte, a to bratří své.9Zdali nevíte, že nespravedliví dědictví království Božího nedosáhnou? Nemylte se, však ani smilníci, ani modláři, ani cizoložníci, ani zženštilí, ani samcoložníci,10Ani zloději, ani lakomci, ani opilci, ani zlolejci, ani dráči, dědictví království Božího nedůjdou.11A takoví jste někteří byli, ale obmyti jste, ale posvěceni jste, ale ospravedlněni jste ve jménu Pána Jezukrista a skrze Ducha Boha našeho.12Všecko mi sluší, ale ne všecko prospívá; všecko mi sluší, ale jáť pod žádné té věci moc poddán nebudu.13Pokrmové břichu náležejí, a břicho pokrmům; Bůh pak i pokrmy i břicho zkazí. Ale tělo ne smilstvu oddáno býti má, ale Pánu, a Pán tělu.14Bůh pak i Pána Ježíše vzkřísil, i nás také vzkřísí mocí svou.15Nevíte-liž, že těla vaše jsou údové Kristovi? Což tedy vezma údy Kristovy, učiním je údy nevěstky? Odstup to.16Zdaliž nevíte, že kdož se připojuje k nevěstce, jedno tělo jest s ní? Nebo dí Písmo: Budou dva jedno tělo.17Ten pak, jenž se připojuje Pánu, jeden duch jest s ním.18Utíkejte smilstva. Všeliký hřích, kterýžkoli učinil by člověk, kromě těla jest, ale kdož smilní, ten proti svému vlastnímu tělu hřeší.19Zdaliž nevíte, že tělo vaše jest chrám Ducha svatého, jenž přebývá v vás, kteréhož máte od Boha, a nejste sami svoji?20Nebo koupeni jste za velikou mzdu. Oslavujtež tedy Boha tělem vaším i duchem vaším, kteréžto věci Boží jsou.
1 Jak to, že se někdo z vás opovažuje, má-li spor s druhým, jít k pohanským soudcům místo k bratřím?2 Což nevíte, že Boží lid bude soudit svět? Jestliže budete soudit svět, nejste snad schopni rozsuzovat takové maličkosti?3 Nevíte, že budeme soudit anděly? Tím spíše věci všedního života!4 Máte-li spory o tyto všední záležitosti, proč se obracíte k těm, kdo nemají s církví nic společného?5 K vašemu zahanbení to říkám. Cožpak není mezi vámi nikdo rozumný, kdo by dovedl rozsoudit spor mezi bratřími?6 Ale bratr se soudí s bratrem, a to před nevěřícími!7 Již to je vaše prohra, že se vůbec mezi sebou soudíte. Proč raději netrpíte křivdu? Proč raději nenesete škodu?8 Vy však křivdíte a škodíte, a to bratřím!9 Což nevíte, že nespravedliví nebudou mít účast v Božím království? Nemylte se: Ani smilníci, ani modláři, ani cizoložníci, ani nemravní, ani zvrácení,10 ani zloději, ani lakomci, opilci, utrhači, lupiči nebudou mít účast v Božím království.11 A to jste někteří byli. Dali jste se však obmýt, byli jste posvěceni, byli jste ospravedlněni ve jménu Pána Ježíše Krista a Duchem našeho Boha.
— Naše tělo patří Pánu
12 ‚Všechno je mi dovoleno‘ – ano, ale ne všechno prospívá. ‚Všechno je mi dovoleno‘ – ano, ale ničím se nedám zotročit.13 Jídlo je pro žaludek a žaludek pro jídlo; Bůh však jednou učiní konec obojímu. Tělo však není pro smilstvo, nýbrž pro Pána, a Pán pro tělo.14 Bůh, který vzkřísil Pána, vzkřísí svou mocí i nás.15 Nevíte, že vaše těla jsou údy Kristovými? Mám tedy z údů Kristových učinit údy nevěstky? Rozhodně ne!16 Což nevíte, že kdo se oddá nevěstce, je s ní jedno tělo? Je přece řečeno ‚budou ti dva jedno tělo‘.17 Kdo se oddá Pánu, je s ním jeden duch.18 Varujte se smilstva! Žádný jiný hřích, kterého by se člověk dopustil, netýká se jeho těla; kdo se však dopouští smilstva, hřeší proti vlastnímu tělu.19 Či snad nevíte, že vaše tělo je chrámem Ducha svatého, který ve vás přebývá a jejž máte od Boha? Nepatříte sami sobě!20 Bylo za vás zaplaceno výkupné. Proto svým tělem oslavujte Boha.

Proč raději nesnášíte křivdu? Proč raději netrpíte škodu?8Vy ale křivdíte a škodíte, a to vlastním bratrům!9Copak nevíte, že nespravedliví nebudou mít podíl na Božím království? Nepleťte se: Smilníci, modláři, cizoložníci, rozkošníci, zvrhlíci,10zloději, lakomci, opilci, pomlouvači ani vydřiduchové nebudou mít podíl na Božím království.11A takoví jste někteří byli, ale jste omyti, jste posvěceni a jste ospravedlněni jménem Pána Ježíše Krista a Duchem našeho Boha.
Nepatříte sami sobě
12„Všechno smím“ – budiž, ale ne všechno je prospěšné. Všechno smím, ale ničím z toho se nedám ovládnout.13„Jídlo břichu a břicho jídlu – Bůh jednou zruší obojí.“ Budiž, tělo však nepatří smilstvu, ale Pánu a Pán tělu.14Tentýž Bůh, který vzkřísil Pána, vzkřísí svou mocí i nás.15Copak nevíte, že vaše těla jsou Kristovými údy? Mohu snad vzít údy Kristovy a učinit je údy nevěstky? To nikdy!16Copak nevíte, že kdo se spojuje s nevěstkou, je s ní jedno tělo? Vždyť Písmo říká: „Ti dva budou jedno tělo.“[1]17Kdo se však spojuje s Pánem, je s ním jeden duch.18Utíkejte před smilstvem! Žádný jiný lidský hřích se netýká těla; kdo ale smilní, hřeší proti vlastnímu tělu.19Copak nevíte, že vaše tělo je chrámem Ducha svatého, který je ve vás a kterého máte od Boha? Už nepatříte sami sobě;20byli jste draze vykoupeni! Proto svým tělem vzdávejte čest Bohu.
Rechtsstreitigkeiten unter Christen vor heidnischen Gerichten
1Wagt es einer von euch, der mit einem anderen einen Rechtsstreit hat, vor das Gericht der Ungerechten zu gehen, statt zu den Heiligen?2Wisst ihr denn nicht, dass die Heiligen die Welt richten werden? Und wenn durch euch die Welt gerichtet wird, seid ihr dann nicht zuständig, einen Rechtsstreit über Kleinigkeiten zu schlichten? (Mt 19,28; L 22,30; Zj 20,4)3Wisst ihr nicht, dass wir über Engel richten werden? Also erst recht über Alltägliches. (2P 2,4)4Wie könnt ihr dann jene, die im Urteil der Gemeinde nichts gelten, als Richter einsetzen, wenn ihr einen Rechtsstreit über Alltägliches auszutragen habt?5Ich sage das, damit ihr euch schämt. Gibt es denn unter euch wirklich keinen, der über die Weisheit verfügt, zwischen Brüdern zu entscheiden?6Stattdessen zieht ein Bruder den andern vor Gericht, und zwar vor Ungläubige.7Ist es nicht überhaupt schon ein Versagen, dass ihr miteinander Prozesse führt? Unzucht und christliche Freiheit
