Вил е посрамен, Меродах – съкрушен. Изваяните му идоли са посрамени, кумирите му – съкрушени.3Защото народ се изкачи против него от север[1]; той ще направи земята му пустош и няма да има жител в нея; от човек до животно бягат, отиват си[2].4В онези дни и в онова време, заявява ГОСПОД, ще дойдат израилевите синове, те и юдовите синове заедно с тях; ще вървят и ще плачат, и ще потърсят ГОСПОДА, своя Бог.5Ще питат за Сион с лицата си насочени към него: Елате да се прилепим към ГОСПОДА във вечен завет, който няма да се забрави!6Народът Ми беше като изгубени овце; пастирите им ги заблудиха да се скитат по планините; те ходеха от планина на хълм, забравиха кошарата си.7Всички, които ги намираха, ги пояждаха и притеснителите им казаха: Не сме виновни, защото те съгрешиха против ГОСПОДА, обиталището на правдата, и против ГОСПОДА, надеждата на бащите си.8Бягайте отсред Вавилон и излезте от земята на халдейците, и бъдете като овни пред стадо.9Защото, ето Аз ще надигна и ще изкача против Вавилон събрание на големи народи от северната земя[3] и ще се строят против него. Оттам ще бъде превзет. Стрелите им ще бъдат като на изкусен воин, няма да се върнат празни.10И Халдея ще бъде за грабежст. 37;, всички, които я разграбват, ще се наситят, заявява ГОСПОД.11Защото и да се радвате, и да се веселите, грабители на наследството Ми, и да скачате като юница на трева, и да цвилите като силни коне,12майка ви много се посрами, опозори се тази, която ви е родила. Ето, последна е между народите, пуста, суха и непроходима[4].13Поради гнева на ГОСПОДА тя няма да се насели, цялата ще бъде пустош. Всеки, който минава през Вавилон, ще се смае и ще подсвирне за всичките му язви.14Стройте се против Вавилон отвред, всички, които опъвате лък! Стреляйте против него, не жалете стрели, защото той съгреши против ГОСПОДАст. 29;.15Извикайте против него отвред! Той се предаде, паднаха укрепленията му, сринаха се стените му, защото това е отмъщение от ГОСПОДА[5]. Отмъстете му – както е направил, така му направете[6].16Отсечете от Вавилон сеяча и държащия сърп във време на жетва. Пред страшния меч ще се върнат всеки при народа си и ще бягат всеки в земята си.17Израил е разпръсната овца, прогонена от лъвове. Първо я пояде асирийският цар, а накрая този, вавилонският цар Навуходоносор изгриза костите ѝ.18Затова, така казва ГОСПОД на Войнствата, Израилевият Бог: Ето, Аз наказвам вавилонския цар и земята му, както наказах асирийския цар.19И ще върна Израил на пасбището му и той ще пасе в Кармил и Васан и душата му ще се насити на планината Ефрем и Галаад.20В онези дни и в онова време, заявява ГОСПОД, беззаконието на Израил ще се потърси и няма да го има; и греховете на Юда и няма да се намерят; защото ще простя на тези, които ще оставя.21Изкачи се против земята Мератаим[7], против нея и против жителите на Фекод[8]. Опустоши и изпълни след тях проклятието, заявява ГОСПОД, и направи според всичко, което ти заповядах!22Глас на битка се чува в страната и голямо разрушение.23Как се строши и разруши чукът на цялата земя! Как стана Вавилон за смайване между народите!24Поставих ти примка и ти се хвана, Вавилоне, и не разбра. Намери се и също се хвана, защото си обявил война на ГОСПОДА.25ГОСПОД отвори оръжейницата Си и извади оръжията на гнева Си, защото Господ, БОГ на Войнствата има дело в земята на халдейците.26Елате против него от края на земята, отворете житниците му, натрупайте го като кръстци и изпълнете над него проклятието. Нека няма остатък!27Изколете всичките телета, нека слязат на клане. Горко им, защото дойде денят им, времето на наказанието им.28Глас на бягащите, на оцелелите от вавилонската земя, за да извести в Сион отмъщението от ГОСПОДА, нашия Бог, отмъщението на Неговия храм[9]!29Свикайте стрелци срещу Вавилон, всички, които опъват лък[10]! Разположете стан отвред срещу него, да не оцелее никой! Отплатете му според делата му, според всичко, което е направил, така му направете[11], защото се е възгордял против ГОСПОДА, против Светия Израилев[12].30Затова младежите му ще паднат по площадите му и всичките му военни мъже ще загинат в онзи ден, заявява ГОСПОД.31Ето, Аз съм против теб, граде горделиви, заявява Господ, БОГ на Войнствата, защото дойде денят ти, времето, когато ще те накажа.32И гордият ще се препъне и ще падне и никой няма да го вдигне. И ще запаля огън в градовете му и той ще погълне всичките му околности.33Така казва ГОСПОД на Войнствата: Израилевите синове и юдовите синове са угнетени заедно; и всички, които ги отведоха в плен, ги държат, отказват да ги пуснат.34Но Изкупителят им е силен, ГОСПОД на Войнствата е Името Му. Непременно ще защити делото им, за да успокои земята и да разтрепери вавилонските жители.35Меч върху халдейците, заявява ГОСПОД, и върху жителите на Вавилон, и върху първенците му, и върху мъдреците му!36Меч върху измамниците – и ще обезумеят; меч върху силните му – и те ще се ужасят.37Меч върху конете им и върху колесниците им, и върху всичките разноплеменни народи, които са сред него – и ще станат като жени. Меч върху съкровищата му – и ще бъдат разграбени[13].38Суша върху водите му – и ще пресъхнат, защото е земя на изваяни идоли и те са полудели от ужасите си.39Затова пустинни зверове и хиени ще живеят там, и ще живеят там камилоптици. И вече няма да се насели навеки, няма да е обитаем от поколение в поколение[14].40Както при разорението на Содом и Гомора, и съседите им от Бога, заявява ГОСПОД, никой няма да живее там, и човек няма да пребивава в него.41Ето, народ идва от север, голям народ и много царе ще се надигнат от краищата на земятаст. 3-9;.42Лък и копие държат, жестоки са и безмилостни, гласът им бучи като морето. Яздят на коне, строени като мъж за бой срещу теб, дъще вавилонска.43Вавилонският цар чу вестта за тях и ръцете му отслабнаха, страх го обзе, мъки като на раждаща жена.44Ето, като лъв от разкоша на Йордан ще се изкачи против богатото заселище; но Аз внезапно ще ги изгоня от него, и ще поставя над него, който е избран. Защото кой е като Мен и кой ще ме призове на съд, и кой е овчарят, който ще устои против Мен?45Затова слушайте решението, което ГОСПОД взе против Вавилон, и мислите, които намисли против земята на халдейците: Непременно ще бъдат отвлечени, и най-малките от стадото, непременно заселището им ще запустее от тях.46От слуха за превземането на Вавилон земята се потресе и вик се чу между народите.
1The word that the Lord spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet: (Ис 13:1; Ис 21:1; Ер 51:59)2“Declare among the nations and proclaim, set up a banner and proclaim, conceal it not, and say: ‘Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed. Her images are put to shame, her idols are dismayed.’ (Ис 21:9; Ис 46:1)3“For out of the north a nation has come up against her, which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. From mountain to hill they have gone. They have forgotten their fold. (Ис 53:6; Ер 50:17; Ез 34:1; Зах 10:2; Мт 18:12; Лк 15:4)7All who found them have devoured them, and their enemies have said, ‘We are not guilty, for they have sinned against the Lord, their habitation of righteousness, the Lord, the hope of their fathers.’ (Ер 14:8; Ер 31:23; Ер 40:2; Ер 50:14)8“Flee from the midst of Babylon, and go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as male goats before the flock. (Ис 48:20; Ер 51:6; Ер 51:45)9For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Babylon a gathering of great nations, from the north country. And they shall array themselves against her. From there she shall be taken. Their arrows are like a skilled warrior who does not return empty-handed. (Ер 25:14)10Chaldea shall be plundered; all who plunder her shall be sated, declares the Lord. (Ер 25:12)11“Though you rejoice, though you exult, O plunderers of my heritage, though you frolic like a heifer in the pasture, and neigh like stallions, (П Ер 4:21)12your mother shall be utterly shamed, and she who bore you shall be disgraced. Behold, she shall be the last of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. (Ер 51:43)13Because of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited but shall be an utter desolation; everyone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled, and hiss because of all her wounds. (Ер 18:16; Ер 50:39)14Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the Lord. For this is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done. (Ис 13:14; Ер 46:16; Ер 51:9)17“Israel is a hunted sheep driven away by lions. First the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has gnawed his bones. (Ер 50:26; Ер 51:3)22The noise of battle is in the land, and great destruction! (Ер 51:54)23How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and broken! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations! (Ис 14:6; Ер 50:3; Ер 50:13; Отк 18:19; Отк 18:21)24I set a snare for you and you were taken, O Babylon, and you did not know it; you were found and caught, because you opposed the Lord. (Пс 141:9; Ер 51:31; Дан 5:30)25The Lord has opened his armory and brought out the weapons of his wrath, for the Lord God of hosts has a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans. (Ис 13:5)26Come against her from every quarter; open her granaries; pile her up like heaps of grain, and devote her to destruction; let nothing be left of her. (Неем 4:2)27Kill all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them, for their day has come, the time of their punishment. (Пс 22:12; Ис 34:7; Ер 46:21)28“A voice! They flee and escape from the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, vengeance for his temple. (Пс 64:9; Ер 50:8; Ер 51:10; Ер 51:11; Ер 52:13; Дан 5:3; Дан 5:23)29“Summon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp around her; let no one escape. Repay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done. For she has proudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. (Йов 16:13; Ис 47:10; Ер 25:14; Ер 50:14)30Therefore her young men shall fall in her squares, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed on that day, declares the Lord. (Ер 49:26)31“Behold, I am against you, O proud one, declares the Lord God of hosts, for your day has come, the time when I will punish you. (Ер 49:8; Ер 50:27; Ер 50:29)32The proud one shall stumble and fall, with none to raise him up, and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all that is around him. (Ер 17:27; Ер 50:29)33“Thus says the Lord of hosts: The people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them. All who took them captive have held them fast; they refuse to let them go. (Ис 14:17; Ер 50:17)34Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon. (Ис 43:14; Ис 51:22; Ер 10:16; Ер 51:36)35“A sword against the Chaldeans, declares the Lord, and against the inhabitants of Babylon, and against her officials and her wise men! (Ер 51:57; Дан 4:6; Дан 5:30)36A sword against the diviners, that they may become fools! A sword against her warriors, that they may be destroyed! (Ер 51:57)37A sword against her horses and against her chariots, and against all the foreign troops in her midst, that they may become women! A sword against all her treasures, that they may be plundered! (Ис 45:3; Ер 25:20; Ер 51:30)38A drought against her waters, that they may be dried up! For it is a land of images, and they are mad over idols. (Ис 44:27; Ер 50:2; Ер 51:36; Ер 51:47; Ер 51:52)39“Therefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon,[4] and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations. (Ис 13:21)40As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, so no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her. (Ер 6:22)42They lay hold of bow and spear; they are cruel and have no mercy. The sound of them is like the roaring of the sea; they ride on horses, arrayed as a man for battle against you, O daughter of Babylon!43“The king of Babylon heard the report of them, and his hands fell helpless; anguish seized him, pain as of a woman in labor.44“Behold, like a lion coming up from the thicket of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make them run away from her, and I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me? (Йов 41:10; Ер 49:19)45Therefore hear the plan that the Lord has made against Babylon, and the purposes that he has formed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the little ones of their flock shall be dragged away; surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate. (Ис 14:24; Ер 49:20; Ер 51:11; Ер 51:29)46At the sound of the capture of Babylon the earth shall tremble, and her cry shall be heard among the nations.” (Ер 49:21)
