1Quand les hommes commencèrent à se multiplier sur la terre et qu’ils eurent des filles,2les fils de Dieu[1] virent que les filles des hommes étaient belles, et ils prirent pour femmes celles qu’ils choisirent parmi elles. (Jude 1:6)3Alors l’Eternel dit: Mon Esprit ne va pas lutter indéfiniment avec les hommes[2], à cause de leurs fautes. Ce ne sont que des créatures terrestres. Je ne leur donne plus que cent vingt ans à vivre.4A cette époque-là, il y avait des géants sur la terre, et aussi après que les fils de Dieu se furent unis aux filles des hommes et qu’elles leur eurent donné des enfants. Ce sont ces héros si fameux d’autrefois.5L’Eternel vit que les hommes faisaient de plus en plus de mal sur la terre: à longueur de journée, leur cœur ne concevait que le mal.6Alors l’Eternel eut des regrets au sujet de l’homme qu’il avait fait sur la terre[3], il en eut le cœur affligé.7Il dit alors: Je supprimerai de la surface de la terre les hommes que j’ai créés. Non seulement les hommes, mais jusqu’aux animaux, jusqu’aux bêtes qui se meuvent à ras de terre et jusqu’aux oiseaux du ciel, car je regrette de les avoir faits.8Mais Noé obtint la faveur de l’Eternel[4]. (Mt 24:37; Lc 17:26; 1P 3:20)
Noé et ses fils
9Voici l’histoire de la famille de Noé[5]. Noé était un homme juste et irréprochable au milieu de ses contemporains. Il menait sa vie sous le regard de Dieu. (Mt 24:37; Lc 17:26; He 11:7; 1P 3:20; 2P 2:5; 2P 3:6)10Il eut trois fils: Sem, Cham et Japhet.
Dieu veut sauver Noé
11Aux yeux de Dieu, les hommes s’étaient corrompus et avaient rempli la terre d’actes de violence.12Dieu observait ce qui se passait sur la terre, il vit que le monde était corrompu, car toute l’humanité suivait la voie du mal.13Alors Dieu dit à Noé: C’est décidé! Je vais mettre fin à l’existence de toutes les créatures car, à cause des hommes, la terre est remplie d’actes de violence. Je vais détruire la terre.14Mais toi, construis un bateau en bois résineux. Tu en diviseras l’intérieur en compartiments, et tu l’enduiras intérieurement et extérieurement de goudron.15Voici comment tu le feras: tu lui donneras cent cinquante mètres de longueur, vingt-cinq mètres de largeur et quinze mètres de hauteur[6].16A cinquante centimètres[7] du haut, tu ménageras un jour. Tu mettras la porte du bateau sur le côté. A l’intérieur, tu disposeras un étage inférieur, un premier et un second étage.17Moi, je vais faire venir le déluge des eaux sur la terre pour détruire, sous le ciel, tout être animé de vie. Tout ce qui est sur la terre périra.18Mais j’établirai mon alliance avec toi et tu entreras dans le bateau, toi, tes fils, ta femme et tes belles-filles avec toi.19Tu feras aussi entrer dans le bateau un couple de tous les êtres vivants, c’est-à-dire un mâle et une femelle de tous les animaux, pour qu’ils restent en vie avec toi.20De chaque espèce d’oiseaux, de quadrupèdes et d’animaux qui se meuvent à ras de terre, un couple viendra vers toi pour pouvoir rester en vie.21Procure-toi aussi toutes sortes d’aliments et fais-en provision pour vous en nourrir, toi et eux.22Noé obéit, il fit tout comme Dieu le lui avait ordonné[8]. 1When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them,2the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.3Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in[1] man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” (Ne 9:30; Ps 78:39; Ga 5:16; 1P 3:19)4The Nephilim[2] were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.5The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gn 8:21; Jb 14:4; Jb 15:14; Ps 14:2; Ps 51:5; Jr 17:9; Mt 15:19; Rm 3:23)6And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. (Nb 23:19; 1S 15:11; 1S 15:29; 2S 24:16; Is 63:10; Jl 2:13; Ep 4:30)7So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”8But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. (Gn 19:19; Ex 33:12; Ex 33:16)
Noah and the Flood
9These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. (Gn 5:22; Gn 5:24; Gn 7:1; Jb 1:1; Jb 1:8; Ez 14:14; Ez 14:20; Lc 1:6; He 11:7; 2P 2:5)10And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.11Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence.12And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. (Jb 22:15; Ps 14:2; Ps 53:2)13And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh,[3] for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Ez 7:2; Ez 7:6)14Make yourself an ark of gopher wood.[4] Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.15This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits,[5] its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.16Make a roof[6] for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.17For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. (Gn 7:4; 2P 2:5)18But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. (Gn 9:9; Gn 9:11)19And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.20Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive.21Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them.”22Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. (Ex 40:16; He 11:7)
1Als sich die Menschen auf Erden zu vermehren begannen und ihnen Töchter geboren wurden,2sahen die Gottessöhne, wie schön die Menschentöchter waren, und sie nahmen sich von ihnen allen Frauen, die sie auswählten.3Da sprach der HERR: Mein Geist soll nicht für immer im Menschen bleiben, weil er eben Fleisch ist; daher soll seine Lebenszeit hundertzwanzig Jahre betragen. (Dt 34:7)4In jenen Tagen gab es auf der Erde die Riesen, und auch später noch, nachdem sich die Gottessöhne mit den Menschentöchtern eingelassen und diese ihnen Kinder geboren hatten. Das sind die Helden der Vorzeit, die namhaften Männer. (Nb 13:33)
Die Sintflut
5Der HERR sah, dass auf der Erde die Bosheit des Menschen zunahm und dass alles Sinnen und Trachten seines Herzens immer nur böse war. (Gn 8:21)6Da reute es den HERRN, auf der Erde den Menschen gemacht zu haben, und es tat seinem Herzen weh.7Der HERR sagte: Ich will den Menschen, den ich erschaffen habe, vom Erdboden vertilgen, mit ihm auch das Vieh, die Kriechtiere und die Vögel des Himmels, denn es reut mich, sie gemacht zu haben.8Nur Noach fand Gnade in den Augen des HERRN.9Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach Noach: Noach war ein gerechter, untadeliger Mann unter seinen Zeitgenossen; er ging mit Gott. (Gn 5:22; Gn 17:1; Jb 1:1)10Noach zeugte drei Söhne: Sem, Ham und Jafet.11Die Erde aber war vor Gott verdorben, die Erde war voller Gewalttat.12Gott sah sich die Erde an und siehe, sie war verdorben; denn alle Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde lebten verdorben.13Da sprach Gott zu Noach: Ich sehe, das Ende aller Wesen aus Fleisch ist gekommen; denn durch sie ist die Erde voller Gewalttat. Siehe, ich will sie zugleich mit der Erde verderben. (Am 8:2)14Mach dir eine Arche aus Goferholz! Statte sie mit Kammern aus und dichte sie innen und außen mit Pech ab! (Ex 2:3)15So sollst du sie machen: Dreihundert Ellen lang, fünfzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch soll sie sein.16Mach der Arche ein Dach und hebe es genau um eine Elle nach oben an! Den Eingang der Arche bring an der Seite an! Richte ein unteres, ein zweites und ein drittes Stockwerk ein!17Ich bin es. Siehe, ich will die Flut, das Wasser, über die Erde bringen, um alle Wesen aus Fleisch unter dem Himmel, alles, was Lebensgeist in sich hat, zu verderben. Alles auf Erden soll den Tod finden.18Mit dir aber richte ich meinen Bund auf. Geh in die Arche, du, deine Söhne, deine Frau und die Frauen deiner Söhne! (Gn 9:9)19Von allem, was lebt, von allen Wesen aus Fleisch, führe je zwei in die Arche, damit sie mit dir am Leben bleiben; je ein Männchen und ein Weibchen sollen es sein.20Von allen Arten der Vögel, von allen Arten des Viehs, von allen Arten der Kriechtiere auf dem Erdboden sollen je zwei zu dir kommen, damit sie am Leben bleiben.21Nimm dir von allem Essbaren mit und leg dir einen Vorrat an! Dir und ihnen soll es zur Nahrung dienen. (Gn 1:29)22Noach tat alles genauso, wie ihm Gott geboten hatte.
