1Ani já jsem vám, bratři, po svém příchodu nezvěstoval Boží tajemství[1] nějak zvlášť vznešenými nebo moudrými řečmi.2Rozhodl jsem se totiž neznat mezi vámi nic než Ježíše Krista, totiž toho ukřižovaného.3Přišel jsem mezi vás ve slabosti, v bázni a velmi rozechvěn.4Mé poselství a kázání nespočívalo v přesvědčivých a moudrých řečech, ale v prokázání Ducha a jeho moci,5neboť jsem nechtěl, aby se vaše víra zakládala na lidské moudrosti, ale na Boží moci.6O moudrosti mluvíme mezi dospělými, ovšem není to moudrost současného světa ani jeho pomíjivých vůdců.7My mluvíme o tajemné moudrosti Boží, o skryté moudrosti, kterou Bůh před věky předurčil k naší slávě8a kterou nikdo z vůdců současného světa nepoznal; kdyby ji totiž znali, neukřižovali by Pána slávy.9Ale jak je psáno: „Co oko nevidělo, co ucho neslyšelo, co člověku nikdy ani na mysl nepřišlo, to Bůh připravil těm, kdo jej milují.“[2]10Nám to však Bůh zjevil skrze Ducha, neboť Duch zkoumá všechny věci, i Boží hlubiny.11Kdo z lidí rozumí člověku než jeho vlastní duch? Stejně tak Boha nezná nikdo než Boží Duch.12My jsme však nepřijali ducha světa, ale Ducha, který je z Boha, abychom rozuměli, čím nás Bůh obdaroval.13O tom právě mluvíme (nikoli slovy, jimž učí lidská moudrost, ale slovy, jimž vyučuje Duch), když vykládáme duchovní věci duchovními slovy.[3]14Neduchovní člověk ovšem nepřijímá věci Božího Ducha, neboť jsou pro něj bláznovstvím, a nemůže je pochopit, neboť se jim dá rozumět jen duchovně.15Kdo však je duchovní, může rozumět všemu, ačkoli jemu nikdo nerozumí.16Vždyť: „Kdo poznal Hospodinovu mysl, kdo by mu mohl poradit?“[4] My ale máme mysl Kristovu!

Wisdom from the Spirit
6Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. (1K 1,28; 1K 3,1; Fp 3,15; Jk 3,15)7But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. (Ř 16,25; Ef 3,5; Ef 3,9; Ko 1,26; 2Tm 1,9)8None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (Ž 24,7; L 24,20; Sk 3,17; Sk 7,2; Sk 13,27; Jk 2,1)9But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— (Iz 64,4; Mt 25,34; Jk 1,12)10these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. (Mt 16,17; J 14,26; Ga 1,12; Ga 1,16; Ef 3,3; Ef 3,5; Zj 2,24)11For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. (Př 20,27)12Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. (Ř 8,15; 1J 4,4)13And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.[4] (1K 1,17; 1K 2,1; 1K 2,4; 2K 10,12)14The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. (Ř 8,7; 1K 1,18)15The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. (Př 28,5; 1K 3,1; 1K 14,37; Ga 6,1)16“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (Iz 40,13; J 15,15; Ř 11,34)
