1 Dobrořeč duše má Hospodinu! I. Jak jsi veliký, Hospodine, Bože můj – oděn jsi slávou a nádherou! 2 Světlem jsi jak pláštěm zahalen, nebe jsi jako plachtu rozestřel! 3 Svoje paláce jsi nad vodou postavil, jak vozy užíváš husté oblaky, vznášíš se na křídlech větrných. 4 Vichry činíš svými posly, tvými služebníky jsou plameny! 5 Zemi jsi založil na jejích sloupech, navěky jí neotřese vůbec nic. 6 Jak pláštěm přikryl jsi ji oceánem, vody stály i nad horami. 7 Před tvojí hrozbou pak rozutekly se, před tvým burácením prchaly. 8 Sahaly k horám, stekly však do údolí, na místo tebou určené. 9 Hranice dals jim, aby je nepřekročily, aby už nikdy nepřikryly zem! 10 Ty pouštíš potoky do údolí, aby proudily mezi horami, 11 všechnu polní zvěř aby napájely, divocí osli aby u nich žízeň zahnali, 12 na jejich březích aby hnízdili ptáci, jejich zpěv aby zněl mezi větvemi. 13 Ze svých paláců hory napájíš, země se sytí ovocem skutků tvých! 14 Trávě pro dobytek dáváš růst a také rostlinám k lidskému užitku, aby jim ze země pokrm vyrostl: 15 Víno, jež smrtelníka v srdci oblaží, olej, po němž se obličej rozzáří, a chléb, který člověku dodá sil. 16 Hospodin sytí i své stromoví – libanonské cedry, které sám vysadil. 17 Vrabci si na nich hnízda postaví, čáp si nachází domov na jedli. 18 Vysoké hory patří kamzíkům, skály jsou útočištěm králíků.^[1] 19 Stvořil jsi měsíc, aby časy určoval, i samo slunce ví, kdy má zapadat. 20 Přivádíš tmu a noc se rozhostí, spoustou zvěře se lesy zahemží. 21 Po své kořisti řvou tehdy lvi, aby tak Boha o pokrm žádali. 22 S východem slunce se vrací zpět, aby ulehli ve svých doupatech. 23 Za svým úkolem tehdy člověk vyráží, pracuje na něm, než se zešeří. II. 24 Kolik je, Hospodine, skutků tvých! Všechno jsi moudře učinil – země je plná tvých stvoření! 25 Hle, je tu moře širé a veliké, havěť bezpočtu se hemží v něm – maličcí i velcí tvorové! 26 Plují v něm lodě a také leviatan, jehož jsi stvořil, aby si tam hrál! 27 Ti všichni k tobě vzhlížejí, abys je krmil v čase potřeby. 28 Dáváš jim a oni sbírají, když otevřeš ruku, sytí se hojností. 29 Děsí se ale, když svou tvář ukrýváš, hynou, když dech jim odnímáš – navracejí se znovu v prach. 30 Svého Ducha když pošleš, bývají stvořeni, abys tvář země znovu obnovil! 31 Hospodinova sláva ať trvá věčně, ze svého díla ať se Hospodin raduje! 32 Pod jeho pohledem země třese se, hory dýmají pod jeho dotykem! 33 Zpívat budu Hospodinu celý život svůj, žalmy zpívat svému Bohu, dokud jsem tu! 34 Kéž se mu líbí moje myšlenky – Hospodin je přece mojí radostí! 35 Kéž by už hříšníci ze světa zmizeli, kéž by tu darebáci více nebyli! Dobrořeč, duše má, Hospodinu! Haleluja!^[2]
