Slovo je ti blízko
5O spravedlnosti ze Zákona píše Mojžíš takto: „Člověk, který ty věci plní, z nich bude žít.“[1]6Spravedlnost z víry však mluví takto: „Neříkej si v srdci: Kdo vystoupí do nebe?“ (totiž přivést Krista dolů)7ani: „Kdo sestoupí do propasti?“ (totiž vyvést Krista z mrtvých).8Co tedy říká? „Slovo je ti velmi blízko; je ve tvých ústech a ve tvém srdci“[2] (totiž to slovo víry, které kážeme).9Vyznáš-li svými ústy, že Ježíš je Pán, a uvěříš-li v srdci, že ho Bůh vzkřísil z mrtvých, budeš spasen.10Víra v srdci vede ke spravedlnosti, vyznání ústy pak vede ke spáse.11Vždyť Písmo říká: „Kdokoli v něj věří, se jistě nezklame.“[3]12Mezi Židem a Řekem tedy není rozdíl: všichni mají téhož Pána, štědrého ke všem, kdo ho vzývají.13Vždyť „Každý, kdo vzývá Hospodinovo jméno, bude zachráněn.“[4]
Kdo uvěřil naší zprávě?
14Jak ale mohou vzývat Toho, v něhož neuvěřili? A jak mohou uvěřit v Toho, o němž neslyšeli? A jak uslyší bez kazatele?15A jak jim může někdo kázat, aniž by byl poslán? Jak je psáno: „Jaká nádherná podívaná je příchod poslů dobrých zpráv!“[5]16Ne všichni ale přijali evangelium. Vždyť už Izaiáš říká: „Kdo, Hospodine, uvěřil naší zprávě?“[6]17Víra je tedy ze slyšení zprávy a tou zprávou je slovo Kristovo.18Ptám se ale: Copak neslyšeli? Právě naopak: „Po celé zemi se jejich hlas šíří, v nejzazších končinách jejich slova zní.“[7]19Ptám se tedy: Copak Izrael nerozuměl? Už Mojžíš kdysi řekl: „Kvůli těm, kdo nejsou národ, vzbudím ve vás žárlivost, kvůli nevědomému národu vás popudím k hněvu.“[8]20Izaiáš to říká ještě odvážněji: „Dal jsem se najít těm, kdo mě nehledali, ukázal jsem se těm, kdo o mě nestáli.“[9]21O Izraeli však říká: „Po celý den jsem vztahoval ruce k lidu nevěřícímu a vzpurnému.“[10]

The Message of Salvation to All
5For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. (Lv 18,5; Neh 9,29; Ez 20,11; Ez 20,13; Ez 20,21; Mt 19,17; L 10,28; Ř 7,10; Ga 3,12)6But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) (Dt 30,12; Ř 9,30)7“or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
