Romans 8:15

English Standard Version

15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” (Isa 56:5; Jer 31:9; Mr 14:36; Ro 8:23; Ro 9:4; 1Co 2:12; Ga 2:4; Ga 4:5; Ga 4:6; 2Ti 1:7; Heb 2:15; 1Jo 4:18)

New International Version

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[1] And by him we cry, ‘Abba,[2] Father.’

New International Reader’s Version

15 The Spirit you received doesn’t make you slaves. Otherwise you would live in fear again. Instead, the Holy Spirit you received made you God’s adopted child. By the Spirit’s power we call God Abba. Abba means Father.

King James Version

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
