8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life. (Re 1:17; Re 1:18)

8 ‘To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 ‘Here is what I command you to write to the church in Smyrna. Here are the words of Jesus, who is the First and the Last. He is the one who died and came to life again. He says,
