9 Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts,[1] O righteous God! (1Sa 16:7; 1Ch 28:9; Job 23:10; Ps 11:5; Ps 26:2; Ps 139:1; Jer 11:20; Jer 17:10; Jer 20:12; Re 2:23)

9 Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure – you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts. 

New International Reader’s Version

9 God, you always do what is right. You look deep down inside the hearts and minds of people. Bring to an end the terrible things sinful people do. Make godly people safe. 

King James Version

9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
