Proverbs 28:22

English Standard Version

22 A stingy man[1] hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty will come upon him. (Pr 22:16; Pr 23:6; Pr 28:20) 

New International Version

22 The stingy are eager to get rich and are unaware that poverty awaits them. 

New International Reader’s Version

22 Those who won’t share what they have want to get rich. They don’t know they are going to be poor. 

King James Version

22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
