Proverbs 21:11

English Standard Version

11 When a scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise; when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge. (Ps 1:1; Pr 19:25) 

New International Version

11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge. 

New International Reader’s Version

11 When you punish someone who makes fun of others, childish people get wise. By paying attention to wise people, the childish get knowledge. 

King James Version

11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
