Proverbs 19:6

6 Many seek the favor of a generous man,[1] and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts. (Pr 17:8) 

New International Version

6 Many curry favour with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts. 

New International Reader’s Version

6 Many try to win the favour of rulers. And everyone is the friend of a person who gives gifts. 

King James Version

6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
