Proverbs 13:1

English Standard Version

1 A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. (Ps 1:1; Pr 1:22) 

New International Version

1 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 A wise son pays attention to what his father teaches him. But anyone who makes fun of others doesn’t listen to warnings. 

King James Version

1 A wise son heareth his father' instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
