13 An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips,[1] but the righteous escapes from trouble. (Ps 64:8; Pr 18:7; Pr 21:23; Mt 12:37)

New International Version

13 Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk, and so the innocent escape trouble.

New International Reader’s Version

13 Those who do evil are trapped by their sinful talk. But those who have done no wrong escape trouble.
