14 And Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, who had come from service in the war. (Nu 31:48) 

New International Version

14 Moses was angry with the officers of the army – the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds – who returned from the battle. 

New International Reader’s Version

14 Moses was angry with the officers of the army who had returned from the battle. Some of them were the commanders of thousands of men. Others were the commanders of hundreds. 

King James Version

14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
