4 As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven. (Ezr 9:3; Ne 2:4) 

New International Version

4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

4 When I heard about these things, I sat down and wept. For several days I was very sad. I didn’t eat any food. And I prayed to the God of heaven.
