8 But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries,[1] and will pursue his enemies into darkness. (Isa 8:22; Isa 30:28) 

New International Version

8 but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 But he will destroy Nineveh with a powerful flood. He will chase his enemies into the place of darkness. 

King James Version

8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
