8 When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men. (Mt 28:18; Lu 7:16) 

New International Version

8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with wonder. They praised God for giving that kind of authority to a human being. 

King James Version

8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
