English Standard Version

2 After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius[1] a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 

New International Version

2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[1] for the day and sent them into his vineyard. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 He agreed to give them the usual pay for a day’s work. Then he sent them into his vineyard. 

King James Version

2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
