3 And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. (Mt 12:28; Lu 12:56; Lu 19:44)

New International Version

3 and in the morning, “Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.” You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.[1]

New International Reader’s Version

3 And in the morning you say, “Today it will be stormy. The sky is red and cloudy.” You know the meaning of what you see in the sky. But you can’t understand the signs of what is happening right now.

King James Version

3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
