5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,”[1]

New International Version

5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is “devoted to God,”

5 But suppose people have something that might be used to help their parents. You allow them to say it is instead “a gift set apart for God.”
