12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence,[1] and the violent take it by force. (Lu 16:16) 

New International Version

12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence,[1] and violent people have been raiding it. 

New International Reader’s Version

12 Since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven has been under attack. And violent people are taking hold of it.
