19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. (De 24:1) 

New International Version

19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[1] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 

New International Reader’s Version

19 Her husband Joseph was faithful to the law. But he did not want to put her to shame in public. So he planned to divorce her quietly. 

King James Version

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
